We have had him now going on 10 years. It's a great car for speed, the faster you go the greater the stability. It will hugs the ground in curves and turns like no other. This 911 will not disappoint you, he has a tight finely tuned 5 speed manual transmission and you can go through the gears like butter they are so close. New tires where installed several months ago on him and is a pure joy to drive.  If you have a need for speed this is your answer! He has been well taken care of over these years and needs to go to someone that will enjoy this fine tuned machine.

This 1987 Carrera represented the last version of the 911 to still be based upon the original design that dated back to the mid 1960’s. Keeping essentially the same shape for almost 60 years, Porsche has been content to make only incremental, progressive changes from year to year, and the lightweight construction of the 911, combined with its finely-tuned driving dynamics contributed to a very quick car that is solid through the corners.

The engine in this Porsche 911 Carrera is air cooled, and has an improved electric fan design added to help cool down the oil in the engine when it was built. A new 5 speed transmission was installed when it was made that functioned better than previous 911’s. It was combined with a mechanical clutch to make the vehicle much easier to drive.

The 1987 Porsche 911 Carrera remains a popular vehicle amongst collectors and racers alike. The light weight of the car also makes it quite surefooted in road and track environments. The 1987 Porsche 911’s easily holds a special place in automotive history and is  a sports car icon, it is one of the purest sports cars made of the 80’s.

Are you the Porsche Pajun?

Mon, 17 Nov 2014

The prospect of Porsche building a smaller version of the Panamera has been an on-again, off-again proposition as the German automaker seems to go back and forth on the project. Last we heard, Porsche had pushed back the so-called Pajun (shorthand for Panamera Junior) until 2019 at the earliest, but we could be looking at it right here.
The automaker's everything-but-automotive division Porsche Design is working on a luxury condo complex called (simply enough) Porsche Design Tower. It's been three years in the making and will take at least another year or two to complete, but the gist of it is that the 57-floor building will include 132 apartments, each with its own en-suite garage in which the residents' cars will be parked thanks to giant elevators.
Porsche Design released a series of renderings showing what the property will look like once complete. Most of the renderings feature Porsches, of course - production models you can find in any of the brand's showrooms, like the one just 23 miles away in Coral Gables. But one of the renderings of the giant glass elevators shows something rather unusual.

Porsche working on turbo V12 for Putin limo project?

Fri, 24 Oct 2014

Porsche is best known for building very well-regarded sports cars and better-selling utility vehicles. Come to the company with a big enough bag of cash, though, and the Porsche Engineering division can create just about anything. The group's past projects include working with Harley-Davidson, Mercedes-Benz and corporate cousin Audi, but if rumors prove true, then its latest partner might be the last one you'd expect.
Russian website Wroom reports that Porsche Engineering is building the engine for the Project Cortege government limousine project for Russian president Vladimir Putin. The mill is supposedly a turbocharged V12 displacing between 6.0- and 6.6-liters and making around 800 horsepower. When complete, it will reportedly be built by ZMZ with Russian-sourced parts.
The limo is expected to debut in 2017, according to Wroom, but it's just the beginning of Putin's grandiose plans, which also goes by the name of the Motorcade Project. The same platform is also meant to underpin several vehicles for use by the government, including an SUV, a small bus and a sedan. All of them would reportedly have a longitudinally mounted engine and all-wheel drive.

Porsche acquires Kyalami race track at auction

Mon, 28 Jul 2014

With more victories under its belt than any other manufacturer, you could say, in a figurative sense at least, that Porsche owns countless numbers of race tracks around the world. But here we're not talking about figuratively owning a track - we're talking about literally buying one. And Porsche has just bought Kyalami.
Kylamai, for those unfamiliar, is a grand prix circuit near Johannesburg in South Africa. Between 1967 and 1985, and again in '92 and '93, it was home to the South African Grand Prix, and has since hosted a variety of local and lower-level international races, but apparently fell on hard times. As a result, the track's owners - listed as Universal Property Professionals - put it up for auction. Bidders had to deposit four million Rand (about $380k) to participate, but after just 50 seconds, the auction was over.
The winning bid was placed - via telephone from the local press launch for the Macan - by Porsche South Africa CEO Toby Venter, who bid a reported 205 million rand (about $19.5 million) to take over the complex. The German automaker's South African division reportedly intends to keep the track open for racing, but could also be expected to use the facility for testing, customer track days and such moving forward.
