The cleanest, sweetest, creamiest and purest 911 T I could find... My dream car.  I chose it among only the few most perfect examples available in the U.S.    It is a rust free, Florida car I brought it to MA four years ago has been pampered, protected and respected ever since.  It has been stored properly w/ charger and covered in my garage through the cold months, only driven on dry winter days to keep her happy once per month.  The paint as you can see is deep and rich, very satisfying to look at.    Other than the usual few minor hood chips and a small scratch on the front bumper, (see pic) it wears flawless paint... no dings on doors, no rough spots down low.  It is very close to perfect inside and out, and underneath.  This car has given me NO problems... with so few miles it is just getting started in life.  It starts right up, jumps to life and always has.  The air cooled boxer engine runs consistently cool, the AC works... it needs to be charged every couple of years.  Look at the  engine compartment... this is a clean car in and out.  I don't think you can find a nicer example... I haven't.  The dunlop tires have less than 2,000 miles on them.  The wheels are near perfect, the seats are unblemished - no burns, tears or scratches.  It has an updated Blaupunkt / CD w/ removable face plate but I have the original radio in a box for car shows.  The gauges all work EXCEPT the Odometer which stopped working six months ago (inspection records will back this up).  The oil pressure gauge works great but the oil level gauge does not respond.  I've spent over $2,000 last year to make her a bit more perfect.   The shift linkage was repaired in 2012 as it was getting a little sloppy.  The transmission fluid was also changed at that time, and the hardware in the Targa top was replaced in 2012 as well to allow smooth operation.  It was serviced by Auto Engineering in Lexington, MA, I have the records.  I hate to let her go, but I'm starting a business.  I would be happy to personally show the car to qualified buyers with serious interest.

Get lost in Evo's sublime 2013 Car of the Year testing

Fri, 08 Nov 2013

Every year Evo stages its Car of the Year test, bringing the best performance cars in the world to one location for an epic shootout. This year the magazine pitted eight CotY finalists against each other on Route Napoleon in Southern France - Evo claims it's the "best road in the world" - and then proceeded to nitpick the smallest of faults on each car until the winner could be named. You see, this year's lineup of machines was just so good that only one car obviously wasn't CotY material from the get-go. Can you guess which one judging from the list below?
- Aston Martin V12 Vantage S
- Audi R8 V10 Plus

Malaise Era All-Stars

Fri, 17 May 2013

A few weeks ago, we bid a fond happy 40th anniversary to the automotive dark ages of 1973-84 that have come to be known as "The Malaise Era" - the performance ice-age when 160 horsepower was a lot and a 0-60 time of under 10 seconds was remarkable. Like music in the 1980s, everything in automobiledom didn't suck, however. There were a few bright spots. Here are five of our favorites:

Audi outlasts rivals to win 13th Le Mans title

Sun, 15 Jun 2014

As is so often the case, the 2014 Le Mans was a war of attrition, and Audi managed to prevail once again after all 24 hours had been recorded in the history books, with its Audi R18 E-Tron Quattro claiming first and second places, followed by Toyota in third. Drivers Marcel Fassler, Andre Lotterer and Benoit Treluyer inherited the lead in their No. 2 Audi after the No. 7 Toyota, driven by pole-sitter Kazuki Nakajima, was forced to retire with electrical problems in the 15th hour.
The No. 2 Audi led the race until it was forced to the pits to replace a turbocharger in the 17th hour, allowing the No. 1 Audi, driven by Lucas di Grassi, Marc Gene (who was a last-minute replacement for Loic Duval, who crashed hard during practice) and defending champion Tom Kristensen, led the race until the 21st hour, when it too had to pit with turbocharger issues. This gave the No. 20 Porsche of Timo Bernhard, Brendon Hartley, and Mark Webber the lead until it was forced off the track with gearbox problems, eventually finishing in 38th position.
In LMP2, the Jota Sport Zytek Z11SN-Nissan driven by Simon Dolan, Harry Tincknell and Oliver Turvey claimed victory, the first five LMP2 finishers all powered by Nissan. Down a level in GTE-Pro, No. 51 AF Corse Ferrari 458 Italia GT2 driven by Gianmaria Bruni, Toni Vilander and Giancarlo Fisichella finished one lap ahead of the leading Corvette Racing C7.R. And finally, the No. 95 Aston Martin Racing Vantage GTE driven by Kristian Poulsen, David HeinemeierHansson and Nicki Thiim won the GTE-Am race two laps ahead of a Proton Porsche 911 GT3 RSR.
