1982 Porsche 911SC Targa

For your consideration is this magnificent 911SC finished in it’s original Grand Prix White over Black leather. The car wears 100% of it’s original paint, if you have been looking for a very original survivor, you have found it! This car has been pampered it’s whole life, it was used as a weekend toy and stored in a climate controlled garage when not on the road, it has obviously never seen a drop of rain, let alone any snow or ice.

This 911 is certainly collector car quality and cars such as this are becoming practically impossible to find so don’t miss your once in a lifetime opportunity to own this gem.

I have a clean Autocheck report in hand as well as many additional pictures (especially of the undercarriage) which I will gladly share with anyone interested.

-Exterior-

The body is simply in outstanding condition, absolutely no rust anywhere on this car, top or bottom, and no major blemishes. There are only a few very minor imperfections in this otherwise perfect factory paint, all of which are pictured in the listing. All the glass is nice and clear with no scratches or hazing. Everything in the car works 100% including all gauges and accessories.

The car is further complimented by the original “Fuchs” which are simply perfect, they have absolutely no scratches or curb rash and are laser straight. The tires are newer have plenty of tread on them, at least 80%+.

The Targa top is in very good original condition, fit’s tight and does not leak.

-Interior-

The interior is in very good condition, the original sport seats are very nice, showing only the slightest signs of wear, the original carpets are in good condition. The dash is perfect, no cracks, no warping. The rear parcel shelf is in perfect condition. Rear seats look as if they have never been used. The door panels and map pockets excellent condition. The Targa roof is in very good original condition. The A/C blows nice and cold.

-Engine & Transmission-

The engine is in outstanding mechanical condition, the 3.0 power plant is perfectly tuned, starts right up on the first try each and every time, idles smoothly and runs as strong as it did when it was new. This 911 drives extremely well.

This machine does not burn or leak even the smallest drop of oil!

The transmission shifts seamlessly through the all of the gears with no slipping or grinding. All of the syncros are perfect. There are no strange noises or vibrations from the engine or drive train, all you hear is the music of the flat six engine. The ride in this 911 is great, there are no squeaks, rattles or other unwanted noises, the car drives straight and true...there is nothing indicating this car is 32 years old!

This 911 is free on any liens is ready for a new home.

Porsche offering short-term loans to Macan waitlisters

Wed, 02 Jul 2014

Walk into a Porsche dealer today, place an order for a Macan and you'll be looking at a waiting period of six months or more before you can expect delivery. That may be common enough for high-end European automakers, but the Macan is meant to lure new buyers to the brand, and the waitlist could be enough to deter them from sticking around.
The solution? Offer to lease them a Boxster or Cayman until their new Macan arrives. Shorter in term that the usual new-car lease, these six-month terms are designed to keep buyers from turning their backs, all the while experiencing the kind of vehicle Porsche does best.
Of course it doesn't hurt that the dealer then gets a used sports car to sell again once the short-term lease is up. And we wouldn't be surprised to see some buyers asking to hold on to their mid-engined sports car for a little longer, either.

2015 Porsche Macan Turbo

Mon, 24 Feb 2014

I knew it was a softball question, but I asked it anyway. It's pretty standard for automakers to offer up some examples of competitors when they invite the media to drive a new vehicle for the first time. If not stated outright, it's just as standard for some journalist to query about the competitive set as soon as the Q&A begins. I knew full well that Porsche believes it has a valuable new niche to itself with the 2015 Macan (and especially with the Macan Turbo), but I wanted to hear the answer to the competitor cars question anyway.
Porsche CEO Matthias Müller didn't hesitate for a second to respond. With a half-smirk appropriate to an executive that is about to launch the (very probably) most profitable and best-selling product in his brand's lineup he chuckled, "Of course, I could be arrogant and say this car has no competitors..."
Arrogant? Well, the grinning Müller certainly didn't give off a humble vibe as he proceeded to count down a list of German and British utility vehicles from various classes that are clearly behind the pace of the Macan in either looks, luxury, or sporting prowess - Range Rover Sport, BMW X3 and Mercedes-Benz GLK among them.

Porsche board members facing another ˆ1.8B lawsuit over VW takeover bid

Mon, 03 Feb 2014

Back in 2008, Porsche got the bright idea that it could take over Volkswagen in the midst of the worst economic slump since the Great Depression. Ignoring that this was a catastrophic move for the Stuttgart sports car manufacturer that that eventually resulted in it nearly going bankrupt and eventually being taken over by the same company it sought to control, the aftermath has left Porsche Chairman Wolfgang Porsche and board member Ferdinand Piëch in the crosshairs of seven hedge funds that lost out during the takeover and are now seeking €1.8 billion - $2.43 billion US - in damages from the two execs, according to the BBC.
See, investors bet on Volkswagen's share price going down, partially because Porsche said it wasn't going to attempt a takeover. But Porsche was attempting to take over VW, having bought up nearly 75-percent of VW's publicly traded shares. When word broke that Porsche owned nearly three-quarters of VW (which indicated an imminent takeover attempt), rather than go down like the hedge funds bet it would, VW's share price skyrocketed to over 1,000 euros per share, according to Reuters.
Naturally, when you bet that a company's share price is going to drop and it in turn (temporarily) becomes the world's most valuable company, you lose a lot of money, unless you're able to buy up shares before prices jump too much. This led to a squeeze on the stock, which the hedge funds accuse Porsche and Piëch (who are both members of the Porsche family and supervisory board) of organizing.
