. 1962 Porsche 356 B Coupe in Primer with a black interior. 46,000 miles showing on odometer. This car was purchased from the estate of a well known 356 enthusiast/restorer . The car was in the process of being restored, probably about 85 to 90% of the metal work was professionally done by a very experienced 356 body metal expert. Please look at the photos the floors, door jambs, suspension points have all been professionally done, thousands have been spent doing this work. The chrome was all done except for the window trim on the front and rear glass, again thousands have been spent doing this. There is a new "Autos International" interior kit with the car. Please look at the photos, I laid out all the pieces. There is no engine but a transmission is fitted to the car. The bumpers are missing, the rear seat bottoms as well. I contacted Porsche about a COA they told me the car was first sold March 23 1962 and the original color was Silver with a blue leathette interior. They said the motor number was 607416 and the tranny number was 54375 and the car was fitted with Conti Tires. The car is currently has a valid Connecticut registration which acts as a title and the car can be sold to any location in the world. This is a great jump start on a completed restored car, the hardest and most expensive part (the body and metal repair ) has been mostly done. If you look at the web page mentioned below there are photos that show the remaining body work to be done is the drivers side door jamb and we have the new sheet metal for that. We are willing to ship this to any location in the world, I will personally make sure it is packed carefully so it arrives undamaged.

Car is located in northwestern Connecticut about 75 miles north of New York City. If you have questions you can reach me thru ebay or call 860-350-1140. I have a page with many high detailed photos of the car that will help you see what condition the metal is in. Please take the time to visit the page and study the photos if you are seriously interested go to forzamotorsports with the usual com ending. Buyer pays shipping. I can help arrange and carefully pack all the items that go with the car, but you must pay for shipping. International buyers welcome. Thank you for looking at my listing.

Porsche 911 Aerodynamic prototype cheated the wind ahead of its time

Wed, 04 Jun 2014

You might think that sports cars would have the lowest drag coefficient of all cars. And yes, they do tend to be more slippery than, say, SUVs or convertibles, but the sleekest vehicles on the road tend to be EVs, hybrids and luxury sedans. Sports cars, on the other hand, have aerodynamically detrimental needs for downforce and additional engine cooling. Still, the Porsche 911 is better than most, and has only gotten more so over the years. Its relatively narrow track and compact form mean it has a smaller frontal area than some other sports cars, and the gradual sweeping back of its headlights and windshield have only augmented its capacity for cheating the wind.
This 911 prototype, however, is even more aerodynamic than most. It's based on a "G model" 911 from 1984, but employed such features as covered wheels, a new rear spoiler and a reprofiled front end to drop its drag coefficient from 0.40 to 0.27, making it as slippery as a modern sedan and better at cheating the wind than just about anything built up to that point, save for maybe the Tatra 77, Citroën SM or Tucker Torpedo.
Elements of this prototype ended up gradually making it into production Porsches for years to come, and you can clearly see early influences on the second-generation 964 and even on the 959. It's featured here as the latest installment in a video series on rare historic Porsches unearthed from the company archives, following previous clips that featured a rare V8-powered 911 and a mid-engined 911 prototype. Scope out the latest episode in the video below.

Porsche celebrates Le Mans return with Martini edition 911

Tue, 10 Jun 2014

If we've said it once, we've said it a hundred times - but we'll gladly say it again: there are few racing liveries as iconic as Martini. And while those stripes have adorned countless Lancia and Ford rally cars, grand prix racers (like the latest Williams) and even speedboats, they remain inexorably tied to Porsche. Fortunately that point is not lost on Porsche itself, which has lately put them on its own 918 Spyder, race-spec 911 and all manner of merchandise. And this is the latest.
To celebrate its return to Le Mans this year, Porsche Exclusive is offering this special Martini Racing Edition. It's based on the 911 Carrera S, which means the more potent 3.8-liter flat six with 400 horsepower, but upgrades, as you might have guessed, with a whole mess of Martini Racing stripes and logos, along with the Aerokit Cup front and rear spoilers. The badges and stripes abound inside as well, where you'll also find such optional extras as the Porsche Communication Management system, Bose audio and black leather electric sport seats.
Porsche is offering the 911 Carrera S Martini Racing Edition in either white or black, but unfortunately not in our market - just in Europe, China and Latin America. Those who miss out will (in certain markets anyway) be able to order the decal set separately though. Feel free to read more in the press release below.

China may surpass US as Porsche's largest market this year thanks to Cayenne

Thu, 09 Oct 2014

China has already surpassed the United States as the world's largest automotive market, so it's no surprise that one day soon it will be the world's largest Porsche market.
In fact, that day may already be here, as the PRC's Porschephiles outbought their American counterparts in September. Porsche's Chinese dealers sold 4,344 cars last month to America's 3,607. Through all of 2014 so far, though, the US is still the larger market for the German brand.
"The U.S. performed very well this year, after a great year in 2013, but China is growing fast, thanks to the Cayenne which is our best seller there," Porsche's sales and marketing boss, Bernhard Maier, told Automotive News Europe.
