History:
I purchased this vehicle new in 1999 from Payne Wesleco Pontiac GMC in Wesleco Tx. It was the prettiest car I had ever seen. I still think it is one of the nicest looking anniversary models that GM made. I have babied this car all of its life. It is however, time to let it go. Due to being deployed / and now driving a pickup most of the time, and my wife having her own car, I now need to let someone else have a chance to enjoy this car.
The Bad:
Front seats weather cracked
Both power window motors need replaced ( new motors included in sale)
Headlight motor ratchets on one side, (Common GM issue, new gear included with sale)
AC works, but has a R134 leak ( I have not had time to find it yet.)
Shifter boot plastic surround needs replaced to hold leather shifter cover
Blue tinted wheels faded, and some corrosion due to living near the ocean. (One new front wheel included in sale) Contrary to what most people think, the blue aluminum is NOT powdercoated, they are clear tinted, so I am sure the tinted clear coat could be redone)
Passenger side headlight cover has gravel marks in paint (Have no idea how that happened)
The worst issue I have with this car is a DTC code of both bank1 and bank2 going lean and a subsequent check engine light. I have replaced the fuel filter, throttle position sensor, and was about to replace the MAF when I got deployed. The car cruises well, and runs good except for a stumble at 2100 rpm and I have yet to diagnose the problem.
I have been as true and honest about the condition of this vehicle as possible. Keep in mind it is a 14 year old car. We have taken as many pictures as possible, but can send others if there is something else you want to see. I have considered fixing all of the items listed, but just don't have the time since I am out of country.
The car is for sale locally and auction could end early due to local sale of vehicle.

Sci-fi movie Jinn features car designer, Firebird-bodied Camaro
Tue, 08 Apr 2014If you're an automotive engineer being tormented by an immortal being made of fire, then wouldn't you think it best to have a custom coupe called the FireBreather for your getaway car? That's the FireBreather in the image above, adorned by the red wings that once fronted the Pontiac Firebird, running away from a black cloud of evil in a trailer for the movie Jinn.
The Jinn is eternal evil, always waiting for the chance to make things float across rooms before going on homicidal urban rampages. The FireBreather is a Gen-V Chevrolet Camaro - from the V6 to the ZL1 - that's been through Classic Design Concepts' extensive list of exterior and interior modifications, including entirely new front and rear fascias and side skirts, sway bars and springs, Pirelli P Zeroes and an available Edelbrock supercharger.
The movie - FireBreathing chase scenes and all - was shot in Monroe, Michigan. You can watch the trailer below, but since the FireBreather only get a couple of seconds on screen, you can find out more about it on Street Legal TV and its official site.
2008-2009 Pontiac G8 recalled over airbag concern
Mon, 07 Nov 2011General Motors is recalling around 38,000 Pontiac G8 sedans from its 2008 and 2009 model years. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that the cars may have a passenger-side airbag flaw that might prevent proper deployment in certain scenarios.
According to NHTSA, the airbag might not adequately protect a fifth percentile woman - that is, a woman around four-foot, 11-inches weighing 108 pounds. The New York Times indicates that the anomaly was found during a crash test conducted by GM's Australian branch, Holden, which was testing the G8's twin (read: Commodore) for head injuries. According to that report, the test in question is specifically tailored to simulate injuries to females, so the results do not apply to men or children.
The issue has been blamed on a seat position sensor that governs airbag deployment rates. NHTSA indicates that when the front passenger seat is moved all the way forward, the faulty sensor may inappropriately trigger a 30-millisecond delay between airbag stages, potentially leading to greater injuries.
Lutz dishes dirt on GM in latest Autoline Detroit
Mon, 20 Jun 2011Bob Lutz sits down for Autoline Detroit - Click above to watch video after the jump
Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
All Chevrolet vehicles were required to have five-spoke aluminum wheels and a chrome band up front, as part of the Bowtie brand's overall image.
