FOR SALE

1999 PONTIAC TRANS AM

FULLY OPTIONED WS6 6-SPEED MANUAL TRANS

ONLY 36,500 MILES

I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE FROM THE ORIGINAL OWNER IN APRIL 2012.  IT WAS ORIGINALLY BOUGHT IN 1999 FROM DAYTONA DODGE AND STILL SPORTS THE DAYTONA DODGE STICKER AND KEYRING.  THIS CAR IS VERY NICE...THIS WILL BE THE NEXT WAVE OF COLLECTABLE PONTIACS.

FULLY OPTIONED INCLUDING:

POWER WINDOWS, LOCKS, BRAKES ETC

T-TOPS

WS6 5.7L V-8

AIR BAGS

ETC

THIS VEHICLE DRIVES, HANDLES, SHIFTS, STOPS LIKE NEW.  I WOULD DRIVE THIS CAR ANYWHERE WITHOUT HESITATION AND IT REALLY TURNS HEADS.  ORIGINAL BLUE WHEELS AND ALL THE FIRE CHICKENS AND BADGES ARE IN PERFECT SHAPE.  SEEMS LIKE THE DECALS AND BLUE COATED WHEELS TEND TO PEEL ON THIS MODEL-NOT THIS ONE.  THE CAR HAS BEEN STORED IN A HEATED GARAGE AND PER THE PREVIOUS OWNER, THE CAR HAS NEVER SEEN A SNOW FLAKE.  THE TIRES WERE REPLACED A FEW YEARS BACK BUT WAS REGISTERED BETWEEN 2007-2012.  THE PREVIOUS OWNER RAN IT THROUGH THE GEARS 5-6 TIMES A YEAR BUT DID NOT DRIVE IT ON A CONSISTANT BASIS.  FROM WHAT I CAN TELL THE ONLY FLAW IS A SLIGHT SCRAPE AT THE REAR PASSENGER QUARTER PANEL WHICH I WAS TOLD COULD BE BUFFED OUT (SEE PIC).  I HAVE PUT LESS THAN 500 MILES SINCE I BOUGHT IT...SOLD MY HOUSE AND GARAGE WITHOUT A VIABLE PLACE TO KEEP THIS BEAUTY...TIME FOR SOMEONE ELSE TO ENJOY.

I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO CLOSE THIS AUCTION AT ANY TIME AS THE VEHICLE IS FOR SALE LOCALLY.  I ALSO URGE PROSPECTIVE BUYERS TO VIEW AND DRIVE THE VEHICLE IF POSSIBLE.

'67 Chevy Corvair convertible vs. '86 Pontiac Fiero in cult classic showdown

Fri, 22 Aug 2014

Every few a decades, the folks running General Motors lose their minds briefly try to market a car that public doesn't see coming and often aren't ready for. In the '60s there was the rear-engine, air-cooled Chevrolet Corvair, then the mid-engine Pontiac Fiero in the '80s and the completely bizarre Chevy SSR in the 2000s. What all of these had in common was that they bucked the trend for American models of their era, for better or worse. The latest episode of Generation Gap tasked the hosts with finding two cult classic vehicles to choose between; they came come up with two of these quirky products from The General.
On the classic side, there's a 1967 Chevy Corvair Monza convertible. Being from later in the production run, it wears slightly more aerodynamic styling than the earlier, boxier examples. Hanging out back is an air-cooled, 2.7-liter flat-six pumping out a robust 95 horsepower. In the other corner is the somewhat more modern 1986 Pontiac Fiero SE with a mid-mounted, 2.5-liter "Iron Duke" four-cylinder, an engine nearly ubiquitous in GM cars of the '80s.
Judging by when they were new, the Corvair was far more successful than the Fiero with over 1.8 million sold. Of course, Ralph Nader's book Unsafe at Any Speed kind of poisoned the well, even if the poor safety reputation wasn't entirely deserved. The Fiero on the other hand only lasted for a few model years before shuffling off, but it eventually got its own performance boost with the V6 version and rather attractive GT models. Check them both out in the video and tell us in Comments which you want in your garage.

Official USPS Muscle Cars stamps coming to a mailbox near you

Thu, 21 Feb 2013

As much as our digital lives have cut down on our trips to the post office, there are still times that sending "snail mail" is necessary. With us car lovers in mind and philately in their hearts, the good folks at the United States Postal Service will introduce a new stamp design called "Muscle Cars" starting on February 22.
Designed by artist Tom Fritz, the new collection of stamps consist of five classic muscle cars: 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1966 Pontiac GTO and 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda. In addition to just the stamps, the USPS is also commemorating the new series with plenty of collectable memorabilia. Previous car-related stamps include 50s Sporty Cars from 2005 and 50s Fins and Chrome from 2008.

GM expands ignition switch recall to over 1.3 million cars amid climbing death toll

Tue, 25 Feb 2014

588,000 Saturn Sky, Saturn Ion, Pontiac Solstice and Chevy HHR models join the 778,000 cars already being recalled.
General Motors has announced a massive expansion of a 778,000-unit recall we told you about two weeks ago, doubling not only the total number of cars affected but expanding the recall beyond Chevrolet Cobalt and Pontiac G5 models previously mentioned. The recall originally centered around ignition switches that could slip out of the "run" position if jostled or if any weight was applied to the key in the cylinder.
