1981 Trans Am with 57,000 original miles. Car came with 4 speed and 5.0 sbc. Now has a 383 sbc in it and looks like it came from the factory with it. 4,800 was spent on motor, trans, and rear all parts have 4,000 miles on them 383 has forged crank h-beam rods and forged probe pistons. Has 220 aluminum heads engine runs on 89 octane 10.1 compression. Has a good sounding comp cam every piece in engine was brand new except block. Has new holly 750 dp, new distributor, everything under the hood is basically new. Has new zoom clutch. The super t10 trans was completely resealed and rear end was completely resealed. Has a 1,000 worth of exhaust new coated headers 3 inch flow master also has super traps that come off the end. Car sounds awesome. And Has plenty of Power. I drove the car on a 1,600 mile round trip. You can drive this car anywhere. Has 342 gears. Paint is 1 year old but not perfect. I would rate it a 7 1/2 has some chips in the paint, and 3 small rust spots on the hood. Body is very straight and absolutely no other rust. Car was undercoated at dealer when new. Interior is very nice but rear panels need to be dyed the correct blue.has all new weather strip This car runs and drives and stops excellent with no rattles.has ac but needs a belt has a nice 8 inch ralleys. Car is gonna be priced under 10,000 i have 16,000 in it. Thanks and good Luck

CNN chronicles young girl building Pontiac Fiero

Fri, 26 Oct 2012

At fourteen years of age, Kathryn DiMaria has already done what many self-proclaimed gearheads won't even attempt in their lifetimes. The Dearborn, Michigan teen is rebuilding a car from the ground up.
The intrepid youngster asked her parents when she was just twelve to start a Pontiac Fiero project, even offering to pony up all the funds herself. Father, Jerry DiMaria only expected the project to last a few months, but two years later, Kathryn is still at it. In this CNN video, the two are at Maker Faire (a DIY festival) rebuilding a 3.4-liter V6 engine out of a Chevrolet Camaro to replace the 2.8-liter mill found in the Fiero.
The whole family hast pitched in, with Kathryn's mother teaching her how to sew in order to complete the interior, father Jerry providing much of the technical know-how, and even her sister is chronicling Kathryn's progress through photos. Jerry even started a thread in a Fiero forum which has been live for two years and is now 22 pages long. Of the project, one forum member wrote, "welcome to the madness."

Hurst Edition Trans Am proves the Screaming Chicken will rise from the ashes

Wed, 31 Oct 2012

It seems the Pontiac Trans Am steadfastly refuses to die. Ever since Chevrolet was granted a retrofied Camaro to compete with the Ford Mustang, Pontiac lovers have lamented the loss of this 1970s icon. And, looking at the Hurst Edition from Trans Am Depot, shown here at the 2012 SEMA Show, may explain what all the fuss is about.
It's not going to appeal to everyone's muscle-car tastes, but there's certainly room for a brash-and-bold black-and-gold Special Edition in many a Trans Am lover's garage. After all, if you want the keys to a custom pony car, you'll certainly get noticed in this one. If this scheme isn't your bag,, you can alternatively order your Hurst Edition in white and gold or silver and black. Oh, and don't forget a color-coordinated Screaming Chicken on the hood.
No matter which way you choose to go, your inner Burt Reynolds will appreciate the Eibach suspension kit, forged wheels with Pirelli PZero tires, functional shaker hood, fender air extractors, rear spoiler and, of course, a Hurst shifter inside. The interior is emblazoned with all manner of special touches, including a Hurst dash plate and T/A stitching on the Katzkin two-tone leather seats.

Bob Lutz sits down for Autoline Detroit - Click above to watch video after the jump
Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
All Chevrolet vehicles were required to have five-spoke aluminum wheels and a chrome band up front, as part of the Bowtie brand's overall image.
