HISTORY: Sorry, but I can not tell you much. My friend found me the car near Cincinnati, Ohio. The car was nice when we bought it, past owner spent a ton of money on it. It is a nice good looking car and the body is solid.

For your consideration I have for sale a nice 1980 Trans Am. The dark blue paint is very nice, the body is solid, the Turbo transmission shifts good, the dark blue interior is good, the car drives good and looks great with the gold bird decals and snowflake wheels.

I am now retired and living my dream restoring, selling and improving classic cars. For 12 years I was an auto mechanics instructor at Tennessee Technology Center here in Athens. I am also a veteran of the US Army; I served as a Chinook helicopter mechanic, crew chief and instructor in the late 60s, I did spend a year in Vietnam. TRADES: Please no trades, they never work out and are just too hard for both of us!

ENGINE:   The engine is stock, it has no knocks, no rattles, no blue smoke, no bad oil leaks, but it will leave drops on your clean floor, its just a old car thing.

TRANSMISSION: Its a Turbo 350 3 speed automatic, it works good with no slip. 

EXHAUST: Stock exhaust manifolds, the system is not new, but good, it has a good mellow sound.

REAREND: It a 10 bolt with no grinds or growls, I have not checked the ratio, but its a good highway gearing, it not real low.

INTERIOR: Good interior with no bad smells, the carpet and seats look good, the dash good, the door panels are wavy at the bottom, the head liner good, but it has some waves. 

GLASS: The windshield looks good, drivers window has minor scuffs from going up and down of the years.

BODY: No rust issues, no rusted holes and I did not see even 1 bubble. The underside is solid, but not detailed beautiful.

PAINT:  I love the dark blue paint. The paint has a brilliant shine, no rust bubbles, no dents, no dings and the car is pretty straight when you look down the sides.

BRAKES: Good, they are power assisted, disc in front.

STEERING: The car drives good, it is power steering.

WHEELS AND TIRES: The wheels are original Pontiac snow flake, good but a little dull. The tires have good tread and fairly smooth on the road.

LIGHTS: Headlights work, tail lights work, turn signals work, brake lights work, I think the left inside turn indicator is not working, I get my cars mixed up sometimes.

GAUGES: The oil, temp and charge work, the gas gauge works, the tachometer is not working.

SPEEDOMETER IS WORKING, HORN IS WORKING.

This was and original Air Conditioned car, the parts from the firewall forward are gone.

Athens does have a good small airport, but has no commercial flights.

Before you drive or fly a long distance you need to make sure the car is not sold. “The way I look at it is until you pay a deposit you’re just looking and dreaming”.

INSPECTIONS: Please come look and be happy. All inspections are required to be done before the end of the listing. I listed this car as I see it as a 67 year old car restorer, please come and judge it for your self. I judge the car to my standards, this may not be yours. Paid inspectors have to be very critical to cover their back sides. I understand how hard it is to buy a car without looking, but I think you should come look yourself. I don’t like paid inspectors, I like for the person that is buying to inspect for themselves. I think its fine to send a friend to inspect for you. To make it clear, don’t hit the buy now button and then inspect, come inspect first!
