Up for sale is my 1980 TA WS6 "Gold Member", it has a 76 Pontiac 400 that was built with plenty of go fast goodies, a TH350 3 speed auto, and a posi rear. the dual flowmaster exhaust are turned down to give it a sinister growl, not too loud, not too quiet. the odometer says 370xx miles, but since the car is 34 years old, true mileage is anyone's guess. The suspension was treated to poly bushings, and kyb shocks, which makes this car handle the curbs like its on rails, literally. this Trans am is ready to drive anywhere, clear Alabama title in hand. on the inside there is after market gauges for fuel, oil pressure, water temp, and battery voltage. and racing seats were installed up front that matches the interior real well, there is no carpet installed, but its real cheap for these cars and you can chooses weather you prefer black or tan. the door panels need a little attention, but still an easy fix for any upholstery shop ( I checked). the speedometer and tach lights don't always come on with the headlights, however all other lights come on as expected. the factory gold paint is in fair shape, I'm not afraid to be seen in it. the worst of it is a small patch of surface rust by the rear spoiler, and a small crack by the passenger front headlight (see pictures). the shaker hood scoop had to be attached to the hood due to the edelbrock high rise intake, but it was professionally done so no leaks, no worries. it is a very sharp car in good shape, it would not brake the bank to make it perfect. the only reason for that I'm selling this car is that I have too many cars, simple as that. I'm not looking to make a killing this car, and most likely I will take a loss on it, but I'm not giving it away, so there is a reserve, and it is advertised locally, so I reserve the right to sell early. I have tried my best to list this car to the best of my knowledge, but it you have any questions please email, call or text me, 256-483-2999. thank you for looking |

Airbag recall adds 85k Pontiac Vibes to tally
Fri, 13 Jun 2014The repairs needed for the faulty airbag inflators supplied by Takata continue to expand. Toyota initially announced a recall of 766,300 vehicles equipped with the bad part on June 11 as a followup to a campaign from 2013. Soon after, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration opened a preliminary evaluation into five automakers who also used the component in their models. Now, NHTSA has released the official announcement of the latest Toyota recall listing 844,277 affected cars, including the newly added 2003-2004 Pontiac Vibe.
While NHTSA's document didn't include a model-by-model breakdown, General Motors spokesperson Alan Adler estimated to Autoblog that roughly 85,000 Vibes in the US would be covered under the latest recall. Like the rest of the affected models, the airbag inflator could rupture in a crash causing the bag not to work correctly, possibly spraying metal fragments at the occupant.
Toyota spokesperson Cindy Knight told Autoblog that the reason for the disparity between the earlier press release and NHTSA document was that Toyota was continuing to comb through VINs to create a list of affected vehicles. The original number was an estimate of that process at the time. Scroll down to the recall report from NHTSA.
Check out the official 2013 Trans Am Hurst Edition commercial
Sat, 16 Mar 2013
The Poncho is dead. Long live the Poncho. Like certain other reoccurring personal maladies, the aftermarket community simply can't let the Trans Am go without another flare up. The guys at Trans Am Depot have worked up a quick commercial for their newest creation: The 2013 Trans Am Hurst Edition, and it watches pretty much like you'd expect it to. The footage is comprised of just about every TA male fantasy you can conceive of, from Daisy Dukes and white tank tops to tramp stamps, bikinis and ice cream cones. There simply aren't words for what you'll see below.
Of course, we like our T-Tops as much as the next guy. If you like what you see in the videos, you can pick up your very own TA by heading over to the Trans Am Depot site. The guys even have Chevrolet Camaro-based versions of the Pontiac GTO if the '77 TA treatment is too much for your tastes. Enjoy, but don't say we didn't warn you.
'67 Chevy Corvair convertible vs. '86 Pontiac Fiero in cult classic showdown
Fri, 22 Aug 2014Every few a decades, the folks running General Motors lose their minds briefly try to market a car that public doesn't see coming and often aren't ready for. In the '60s there was the rear-engine, air-cooled Chevrolet Corvair, then the mid-engine Pontiac Fiero in the '80s and the completely bizarre Chevy SSR in the 2000s. What all of these had in common was that they bucked the trend for American models of their era, for better or worse. The latest episode of Generation Gap tasked the hosts with finding two cult classic vehicles to choose between; they came come up with two of these quirky products from The General.
On the classic side, there's a 1967 Chevy Corvair Monza convertible. Being from later in the production run, it wears slightly more aerodynamic styling than the earlier, boxier examples. Hanging out back is an air-cooled, 2.7-liter flat-six pumping out a robust 95 horsepower. In the other corner is the somewhat more modern 1986 Pontiac Fiero SE with a mid-mounted, 2.5-liter "Iron Duke" four-cylinder, an engine nearly ubiquitous in GM cars of the '80s.
Judging by when they were new, the Corvair was far more successful than the Fiero with over 1.8 million sold. Of course, Ralph Nader's book Unsafe at Any Speed kind of poisoned the well, even if the poor safety reputation wasn't entirely deserved. The Fiero on the other hand only lasted for a few model years before shuffling off, but it eventually got its own performance boost with the V6 version and rather attractive GT models. Check them both out in the video and tell us in Comments which you want in your garage.
