1979 TRANS AM..400 / 4 SPEED #'S MATCH LOADED WITH OPTIONS. VERY CLEAN ORIGINAL SHEET METAL, NEW INTERIOR , NEEDS PAINT HERE IS YOUR CHANCE TO PURCHASE ONE OF THE FEW 1979 400 4 SPEEDS CARS BUILT. THIS IS THE LAST YEAR FOR THE GOOD MOTOR. THE ODOMETER SHOWS 54,000 MILES. NOT SURE IF ORIGINAL OR NOT. I PULLED THE ORIGINAL SEATS AND PUT THEM IN ANOTHER CAR BECAUSE THEY WERE IN GOOD SHAPE. THIS KIND OF MAKES ME THINK THE MILES ARE TRUE. CERTAINLY NOTHING ABOUT THE SEATS LOOKED CLOSE TO 100,000 MILES. THE STEERING WHEEL IS STILL NICE WITH MINOR WEAR AND FADE. MY PLAN WAS TO RESTORE THIS ONE BEING WHAT IT IS. I ALREADY HAD A SET OF DELUXE BLACK SEATS READY TO GO IN THIS WHEN RESTORATION COMPLETE. NOW I AM PAINTING A DIFFERENT CAR SO THE NEW SEATS ARE IN THIS ONE. THE ORIGINAL DOOR PANELS ARE STILL NICE. CARPET LOOKS GOOD TOO. ALL THE PLASTIC TRIM PIECES LOOK ORIGINAL AND NICE. THE HEADLINER LIKE ALL THESE OLD F BODYS HAS DELAMINATED AND NEEDS REPLACED.THE EXHAUST SYSTEM IS FOR THE MOST PART GONE. HEADERS WERE PUT ON SOME TIME AGO. THE WHOLE SYSTEM NEEDS REPLACED. THE MOTOR RUNS WELL. I WAS TOLD BY PREVIOUS OWNER WHO DROVE THE CAR FOR A COUPLE SUMMERS THAT IT RAN AND DROVE WELL. TIRES ARE SHOT. NO DRIVING THIS ONE HOME. THE CAR WAS LOADED WITH OPTIONS. I HAVE PHS AND A WINDOW STICKER SHOWING EVERYTHING IT CAME WITH. THE BODY IS VERY CLEAN AS FAR AS RUST. ONLY A COUPLE MINOR SURFACE SPOTS ARE SHOWING. THERE ARE A FEW SMALL DENTS AND SOME DINGS HERE AND THERE. SOME OF THE PAINT HAS CHECKED. THE FRONT BUMPER COVER HAS A SLICE SOME HOW. NEEDS REPLACED. I HAVE COVERS AND THAT COULD BE WORKED INTO A DEAL IF WE DECIDE. OVERALL THIS IS A GREAT AND VERY WORTHY CAR TO RESTORE. THE COLOR COMBO IS OUTSTANDING. WOULD BE WORTH A LOT OF $ WHEN DONE. NHTSA investigating 550k Pontiac G6 models, 320k Honda Odysseys
Mon, 10 Jun 2013According to two separate reports in The Detroit News, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is launching investigations into 550,000 Pontiac G6 (pictured above) and 320,000 Honda Odyssey (pictured right) models. The G6 models are all from the 2005 to 2007 model years, while the Odyssey minivans are from the 2003 and 2004 model years. The two NHTSA probes are not related.
In the case of the G6, this is an upgrade to an original investigation that started in February after NHTSA received "hundreds of reports" that the brake lights on these cars may malfunction. According to The Detroit News, the lights may come on when the brake pedal is not depressed, and likewise, the brake lights may not illuminate when the pedal has been pushed. General Motors was able to provide NHTSA with a significant number of warranty claims, including 1,100 reports that could potentially relate to this problem, one of which indicates a vehicle crash.
For Honda, the NHTSA probe concerns airbags that may deploy unexpectedly. The government agency received six complaints from 2003-04 Odyssey owners saying that the front airbags suddenly went off without a crash. The Detroit News reports that three of the six owners sustained injuries from these incidents. Additionally, NHTSA has received 41 complaints from owners saying the vehicle's airbag warning light had illuminated.
GM recalling another 1.3-million cars over power steering woes

General Motors has announced yet another major recall, covering 1.3 million units in the American market over concerns that the power steering could suddenly fail. As reported by The Detroit News' David Shepardson, GM has now recalled nearly ten times as many cars as it did all of last year.
It's important to note that should this problem arise in these cars, the steering won't fail completely, however, power steering could suddenly stop functioning. Manual steering would still be possible, but as GM says, there's an increased risk of accidents, particularly at lower speeds.
Like the ignition switch recall, this latest problem covers a wide range of vehicles from Chevrolet, Saturn and Pontiac. The Poncho is dead. Long live the Poncho. Like certain other reoccurring personal maladies, the aftermarket community simply can't let the Trans Am go without another flare up. The guys at Trans Am Depot have worked up a quick commercial for their newest creation: The 2013 Trans Am Hurst Edition, and it watches pretty much like you'd expect it to. The footage is comprised of just about every TA male fantasy you can conceive of, from Daisy Dukes and white tank tops to tramp stamps, bikinis and ice cream cones. There simply aren't words for what you'll see below.
Of course, we like our T-Tops as much as the next guy. If you like what you see in the videos, you can pick up your very own TA by heading over to the Trans Am Depot site. The guys even have Chevrolet Camaro-based versions of the Pontiac GTO if the '77 TA treatment is too much for your tastes. Enjoy, but don't say we didn't warn you.
