1979 Pontiac Trans Am ONLY 50,500 Miles
All Numbers Matching!!
6.6 Litre 400ci Big Block
This car is in SHOW CONDITION!!

This Trans Am has ONLY had TWO owners and has a 100% clean title, always kept covered and indoors, NEVER driven in winter months! Very minor cosmetic work has been needed, to be expected for its age (small scratches professionally fixed and refinished) THATS IT! Typical mechanical maintenance has been preformed for normal wear over time but NO serious mechanical work has been done nor needed for that matter. All the drive-train components are factory and numbers matching. Everything works turn the key and drive with no questions or worries, or pull it in the garage grab a chair sit and stare at one of Pontiac's most famous and sought after productions. Either way it is just beautiful!!

Pontiac insalled a 403-cubic inch V-8 Engine built by Oldsmobile in this 1979 Trans Am,  it produced 186 horse power and 320 foot-pounds of torque straight from the factory!! The 6.6-liter block had a bore and stroke of 4.35 and 4.485 inches. A four-barrel carburetor helped produce more power, topped by Pontiac's signature Hood Shaker! The interior is as clean as the exterior with all the original bells and whistles all in tack and in mint condition. The under carriage is very clean as well (see pic). There is not much more to say, the pictures included in this post speak for this Detroit Legend better than I can.
Starting bid will be for $10,000 after that the auction will continue with NO RESERVE!!!!!

NHTSA investigating 550k Pontiac G6 models, 320k Honda Odysseys

Mon, 10 Jun 2013

According to two separate reports in The Detroit News, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is launching investigations into 550,000 Pontiac G6 (pictured above) and 320,000 Honda Odyssey (pictured right) models. The G6 models are all from the 2005 to 2007 model years, while the Odyssey minivans are from the 2003 and 2004 model years. The two NHTSA probes are not related.
In the case of the G6, this is an upgrade to an original investigation that started in February after NHTSA received "hundreds of reports" that the brake lights on these cars may malfunction. According to The Detroit News, the lights may come on when the brake pedal is not depressed, and likewise, the brake lights may not illuminate when the pedal has been pushed. General Motors was able to provide NHTSA with a significant number of warranty claims, including 1,100 reports that could potentially relate to this problem, one of which indicates a vehicle crash.
For Honda, the NHTSA probe concerns airbags that may deploy unexpectedly. The government agency received six complaints from 2003-04 Odyssey owners saying that the front airbags suddenly went off without a crash. The Detroit News reports that three of the six owners sustained injuries from these incidents. Additionally, NHTSA has received 41 complaints from owners saying the vehicle's airbag warning light had illuminated.

Automakers tussle over owners of 'orphan' makes

Thu, 10 May 2012

When General Motors put down several of its brands in recent years, it also let loose thousands of brand-loyal customers who will eventually need another car.
R.L. Polk Associates estimates there are more than 18 million cars from 16 discontinued makes on the road today. Those "orphan owners" have sales-hungry competitors seeing dollar signs. GM is offering Saturn owners $1,000 cash toward a Chevy Cruze, Cadillac CTS or a GMC Acadia. Ford is giving its Mercury lease customers a chance to get out of their contracts with no early-termination penalty and offering to waive six remaining payments if they drive off in a Ford or Lincoln.
Edmunds.com research shows the efforts are paying off somewhat for GM, with 39 percent of Pontiac owners, 37 percent of Hummer owners and 31 percent of Saturn owners taking delivery of another GM-branded vehicle. But that leaves as much as 69 percent of owners going elsewhere. Ford, Honda and Toyota seem to be attracting many former GM owners.

David Hasselhoff's own KITT replica up for auction

Tue, 08 Apr 2014

Depending on when and where you grew up, the name David Hasselhoff likely conjures up images of Knight Rider, Baywatch, pop singer, or possibly a washed-up TV actor, but one thing that can never be taken away from The Hoff is his connection to one of the greatest automotive icons in pop culture. The Knight Industries Two Thousand, usually shortened to simply KITT, was the real star of Knight Rider for many fans. Based on a Pontiac Firebird Trans Am, the car combined snarky quips for comedy relief and stunts to provide much of the show's actions. Now, Julien's Auctions is selling Hasselhoff's own replica as part of a larger sale of the actor's personal memorabilia collection.
This recreation is based on a 1986 Firebird and comes with all of the tech on the inside that now seems hilariously outdated, like the yoke steering wheel and plethora of buttons. The interior also thoughtfully includes a voice box with over 4,000 sound clips from the show. With a 5.0-liter V8 and an automatic transmission, performance is likely adequate and period correct. According to the listing, this car was created by fans and given to the Hoff. Sadly, the replica doesn't convert to Super Pursuit Mode like KITT could in later seasons, and we most associate KITT with conventional front-hinged doors to go with the power t-tops and ejector seats.
Bidding currently sits $27,500 with eight bids, since starting at $15,000. Julien's predicts it will sell for between $30,000 and $50,000. If there is some nostalgia for KITT in your heart, there is still plenty of time to bid.
