1979 Firebird Trans Am Hardtop 455 Big Block on 2040-cars
Conyers, Georgia, United States
Running and driving 1979 Trans Am 455 Big block with turbo 400 Transmission. Very solid hardtop car. Floor pans, trunk pan and bottom of doors are solid.
Quarters are in great shape and no rust at front and rear glass. All window glass in good shape. The car needs interior and I have all the interior pieces along with two sets of bucket seats. It has brand new tires on the car. The white letters are turned in on the tires because I liked the black walls myself. The car was painted before I bought it and it looks ok. It may not have been the choice I would of painted it but it is a cool looking green in the sun. It has a small manifold leak on driver side but other that that runs really strong. I think it is the original motor but not sure were to look the get the numbers I'm mostly a Chevrolet guy myself. Its a really good car to put back together. Call with any questions or pictures and the reserve is low on the car. Thanks for looking, Marty 404-502-2156 |

Saturn Vue ignition switch leads to new group of GM recalls totaling 312k
Fri, 08 Aug 2014General Motors has another spate of recalls to announce. This time they cover 312,280 vehicles worldwide, including 269,041 of in the US, in a total of six campaigns. In 2014, the automaker has recalled 29,079,765 vehicles worldwide, with 25,754,356 of those in the US.
The largest among them covers 215,243 units of the Saturn Vue from 2002-2004 model years worldwide, 202,115 in the US. It's possible for the for the key to be removed even when the ignition isn't in the OFF position. The company knows of two crashes and one injury caused by this problem. Dealers are checking the parts and replacing the ignition cylinder and key set, if necessary.
Next is 72,826 models worldwide (48,059 vehicles in the US) of the 2013 Cadillac ATS four-door sedan, 2013 Buick Encore and 2013 Chevy Trax in Canada. It's possible that the for lap belt pretensioner to retract but not to lock, which could increase occupant movement during a crash. Both front, outboard lap belt pretensioners are being replaced, and a stop-sale is in effect on unsold models until the problem is repaired. There are no known crashes or injuries, though.
Lutz dishes dirt on GM in latest Autoline Detroit
Mon, 20 Jun 2011Bob Lutz sits down for Autoline Detroit - Click above to watch video after the jump
Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
All Chevrolet vehicles were required to have five-spoke aluminum wheels and a chrome band up front, as part of the Bowtie brand's overall image.
This Auto Aerobics car art ties our brains in knots like pretzels
Sat, 14 Dec 2013We like cars, and we like art. Naturally, Chris Labrooy's Auto Aerobics series - computer-generated images of some seriously contorted 1968 Pontiac Bonnevilles floating in mid-air - instantly clicked with us. If the Pontiacs weren't floating or hollow, we could be fooled into believing the image is real. But where's the fun in that?
Check out the gallery we included of Labrooy's Bonneville art, and feel free too head over to his website for some Formula One humor.
