"RARE" and HARD TO FIND in Pacific Northwest area ~ a Great TRANS AM "Project" Car for Restoration.

With some work this car has the makings to become a CLASSIC BEAUTY worth some money!!

This is one of the most "complete" Trans Am project cars I've seen for restoration.
It has a Clear Title
Smooth, Straight Body - very little rust.
Good Glass All Around including a BRAND NEW Windshield
  • Original "Early type" Hurst Glass T-Tops BOTH sides are in fine condition
4 Good Tires ~ Good Amount of Tread Left (See Photo)
  • 4 "Snowflake" Aluminum 15 X 8 Wheels recently sand-blasted and ready to be painted
4 BRAND NEW Black and Gold "Eagle" Trans Am Center Caps for the Snowflakes Wheels
3 Older Pontiac Rally Wheels with Beauty Rings
Heavy Steel Hood with No Dings, and Trunk ~ Both in good condition
  • Shaker Scoop in Good Condition
Tilt & Telescopic Wheel
Originally Equipped with A/C but belt is removed
Originally Equipped with Cruise Control (not sure if it works)
  • BRAND NEW Exhaust System with Glass Packs and Dual Chrome Tips
Has 6 X Heads (Larger Valve Heads)
Car was originally Silver Exterior and Light Blue Interior
Will need work on INTERIOR - carpet and seats are dirty and worn. Dash Grill is in good shape, although Dash Pad is cracked and Rear Shelf (by Rear Window) is torn.  Glove Box good shape.
Passenger Door needs new hanging mechanism.

Car sat for 3 years, most of the time covered with quality car cover.
Both Rear Lower quarter panels behind the tires had rust and have been repaired, passenger side is smooth, but driver's side still needs a little smoothing to finish. Also floor board has been replaced & welded on passenger side.
Under the Hood you'll find unmolested original factory pieces with most hoses still connected. Restoration work is needed here. Has Pontiac 400 cu. inch Engine (most likely the original so matching numbers) and TH-400 Heavy Duty Automatic Transmission. Don't know how good the Engine is - Car currently does not run. We borrowed a battery from another car and got it started with Starting Fluid. May just need the quadra-jet carburetor rebuilt.

Parts included with Car: (2) New Chrome Door Handles, (2) New Front Grills, (2) New Chrome Door Sills (Body by Fisher) still in protective Blue Wrapper,  a New Pontiac Arrow Hood Emblem, 4 Flare Sails and Front Wind Dam plus lots of small Pontiac pieces, nuts & bolts and Owner's Manual.

Please Read ENTIRE Description and Examine All Photos Carefully BEFORE Bidding.  Car will need to be TRAILERED off my property.  I am not the Original Owner.  My husband bought it, and is now deceased. I can't tell you much about the car's performance.  This is a "USED" Car being sold with NO WARRANTY. NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT of $500.00 is due within 48 hours of Auction's End. Balance due within 7 days.
Any questions?  I'll be glad to answer, if I can.

Rumormill: DeLorean Motor Company considering rescuing Pontiac Solstice?

DeLorean Motor Company Pontiac Solstice renderings - Click above for high-res image gallery
General Motors has made a science out of sharing platforms. So when the company's Kappa platform was introduced for a new rear-drive roadster to be distributed across three different motor divisions, you'd have figured the program was pretty safe, right? Unfortunately for the workers at the Wilmington Assembly Plant which manufactured the Kappa roadsters, those three divisions were Pontiac, Saturn and Opel - three units which the General has either sold or shut down. Which is a shame, because a perfectly good rear-drive roadster platform is a heck of a thing to waste.
In one of the strangest rumors we've heard recently, however, our compatriots over at Jalopnik report that the DeLorean Motor Company (yes, that DeLorean Motor Company) is considering buying the plant and the platform from GM and putting it back into production as a new DMC.

1969 Pontiac GTO Judge vs. 2006 GTO, which Goat gets your vote?

Mon, 08 Sep 2014

The Pontiac GTO was perhaps the most iconic muscle car of the '60s and early '70s. With its beefy V8 and color palette screaming for attention, it summarized in a single vehicle everything that made the era so appealing to many young people. Pontiac tried to collect just a few drops of that aura again in the 2000s with a revived GTO, but with decidedly mixed results. The performance was still there with its big V8, but the looks never quite lived up to the powertrain. Now, Generation Gap wants to know which of these Goats is the one to own.
Things are skewed immediately because the 2006 GTO here is a real ringer. It comes from famous tuner Ken Lingenfelter's collection, and it's a one-off example partially fettled by GM Performance boasting a twin-turbocharged LS2 V8 with a claimed 750 horsepower and a wide-body kit. This Goat definitely isn't what you're going to find just browsing for one to buy in the newspaper. Still, dip the throttle just a little, and this GTO pulls like a freight train. It's enough to turn the two hosts into giggling schoolboys behind the wheel.
The '69 GTO Judge here is also out of Lingenfelter's collection, but this one is all stock with a 400-cubic-inch (6.6-liter) V8 and a Ram Air hood for a claimed 366 hp. It might not have the unbelievable power of the turbo '06, but it makes up for it with style to spare.

Looking back at Oprah's free-car giveaway 10 years later

Fri, 12 Sep 2014

Oprah kicked off her 19th season in dramatic fashion by giving all 276 members of the studio audience a free car.
Molly Vielweber's Pontiac G6 appears unremarkable at first glance. It wears forest green paint, rolls on five-spoke aluminum wheels, and it has a sizeable scrape in the driver's side door, the scar of a decade's worth of hard use. You wouldn't notice it parked at a big box store or cruising on the highway. Pontiac made hundreds of thousands of G6s in the 2000s, and a lot are still on the road. It's unremarkable in every way except for the front license plate, which reads, "Oprah 6."
