1975 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am 455

VIN: 2W87S5N537036

Engine Code: 0374765 - WX

  •          Nicely Equipped “Big Block” Trans Am
  •          Great Driver with Strong Mechanicals
  •          Original Manuals Included
  •          Classic American Styling and Awesome Color Combination
  •          Be The Talk of Your Town in The American Icon

Here is the ideal Trans Am for those looking for big block Pontiac with all of the additional luxuries. Silver over black vinyl, this car offers a “driver’s quality” presentation - great for a fun weekend cruiser. Inside, the interior displays vinyl bucket seats, engine-turned aluminum dashboard, automatic transmission, power windows, window tint, alarm system, new black headliner and modern audio (missing radio deckface). The exterior’s paintwork graphics appear to have been reapplied not long ago, faring well to normal use. Aftermarket Foose 5-star wheels and period white-script tires compliment.

The car runs drives, handles and stops with no notable issues. The engine bay is tidy and generally correct throughout. The air conditioning has been converted to a modern R134A system, while the battery, distributor cap and alternator are fairly new as well. Please note* the current engine is a 1976 455CI. Incredibly all original manuals, brochures and ID tags accompany the Trans Am. Among the last of the "classic" Pontiacs, the Trans Am was one of the most desired American sports cars of the time, especially outfitted in this example's particular luxuries. We encourage a closer inspection of this iconic MuscleCar.

Note: This is a “driver” and not a trailer queen, the paint is older but presentable, the photos tell the story. Please see this photo link for a full set of hi-definition photos.

Rumormill: DeLorean Motor Company considering rescuing Pontiac Solstice?

Wed, 07 Oct 2009

DeLorean Motor Company Pontiac Solstice renderings - Click above for high-res image gallery
General Motors has made a science out of sharing platforms. So when the company's Kappa platform was introduced for a new rear-drive roadster to be distributed across three different motor divisions, you'd have figured the program was pretty safe, right? Unfortunately for the workers at the Wilmington Assembly Plant which manufactured the Kappa roadsters, those three divisions were Pontiac, Saturn and Opel - three units which the General has either sold or shut down. Which is a shame, because a perfectly good rear-drive roadster platform is a heck of a thing to waste.
In one of the strangest rumors we've heard recently, however, our compatriots over at Jalopnik report that the DeLorean Motor Company (yes, that DeLorean Motor Company) is considering buying the plant and the platform from GM and putting it back into production as a new DMC.

1969 Pontiac GTO Judge vs. 2006 GTO, which Goat gets your vote?

Mon, 08 Sep 2014

The Pontiac GTO was perhaps the most iconic muscle car of the '60s and early '70s. With its beefy V8 and color palette screaming for attention, it summarized in a single vehicle everything that made the era so appealing to many young people. Pontiac tried to collect just a few drops of that aura again in the 2000s with a revived GTO, but with decidedly mixed results. The performance was still there with its big V8, but the looks never quite lived up to the powertrain. Now, Generation Gap wants to know which of these Goats is the one to own.
Things are skewed immediately because the 2006 GTO here is a real ringer. It comes from famous tuner Ken Lingenfelter's collection, and it's a one-off example partially fettled by GM Performance boasting a twin-turbocharged LS2 V8 with a claimed 750 horsepower and a wide-body kit. This Goat definitely isn't what you're going to find just browsing for one to buy in the newspaper. Still, dip the throttle just a little, and this GTO pulls like a freight train. It's enough to turn the two hosts into giggling schoolboys behind the wheel.
The '69 GTO Judge here is also out of Lingenfelter's collection, but this one is all stock with a 400-cubic-inch (6.6-liter) V8 and a Ram Air hood for a claimed 366 hp. It might not have the unbelievable power of the turbo '06, but it makes up for it with style to spare.

Here's the breakdown for this most recent set of recalls:
