You are bidding on a 1969 Firebird Trans Am Tribute Car Convertible. Made to look as close as I could to the 1 of 8 they made as Convertibles. We have a Trans am block which we located in a  Oklahoma Yard. Complete motor with carb. Block #9790071. Had completely rebuilt right down to the carb at Bitner Performance Motors. Right down to the last bolt.. You will receive all the details along with the Dyno Sheet showing 357 Horsepower and 5200 RPM and 362. Torque. The motor sounds unreal. Has a new set of headers along with 2 1/2 Flowmasters running 3" Tailpipes out back. Car has a 1969 HD 3 speed trans from a 1969 GTO that the machine shop had removed in the 1970's and saved. We purchased it he rebuilt it and was installed along with a new clutch, pressure plate and fly wheel. The rear end is a 3:55 Saft-T-Track 10 bolt differencial. All rebuilt. All new brakes and drums on it also. All new power disc brakes on front. Has functional front fender scoopes. Heavy duty shocks and springs. All new brake lines and all new complete wiring from American Auto wire New rebuilt Tilt Column and a padded TA wheel. All 8 Convertibles made were Ram Air III Cars. Which meant they were not preheated and cable  operated. I did not install the Ram air III kit on this car because I like the ram IV kit which has preheaters. But both kits are available if wanted. Car has all new tires and rims. It has Hurst Special Edition Rims which look like the trim rings are part of the rim. As you can see the car has all new sheet metal. limited bondo. New fenders (steel) new steel TA Hood, New Valance, New Doors, New Qtrs., New Wheelhouse Frt. and Rear, New Full Trunk Floor, Full floor pan. New rear rails, New body panel, All new Bushings & Suspension in front end. Manual Steering Box, New rebuilt Tilt Column. Tach in Dash 160 MPH Speedometer. Stacked Gauges in Dash. No Radio. Motor sounds to good for music. All new Upholstery, Seats, Carpet, Top, Door Panels, Windshield. All windows have been disassembled cleaned and greased and put together for smooth operation. Base coat Diamont with the correct color stripes under 4 coats of high gloss urethane clear. Sanded and buffed smooth. Car has not been waxed yet and look at the shine. Car has a TA padded wheel. Still looking for a bird down horn button. Very rare to find. Car will have a bird up unless I find one soon. New Bumpers, front turn signal units, HL Bezels, Bird Qtr. Bezels and Lamps. All new Weatherstrips and Gaskets all around car Car was sprayed on complete underside with body schutz for sound deadening . Fuel System is all new Tank, Lines, Sender and Carb Rebuilt. Car must drink Premium Fuel.  Have 500 miles since built on road, drives great. Clear NJ Title. just passed New Jersey Inspection  Please do not call or e-mail me and ask about my reserve because there is none. If you are serious Buyer call me with questions. General Lee takes on Bandit T/A in classic Hollywood car showdown [w/poll]

Fri, 26 Aug 2011

You don't have to be born in the 1960s or 1970s to be able to recognize the General Lee from The Dukes of Hazzard and the Pontiac Trans Am from Smokey and the Bandit. These old school four-wheeled stars seem to transcend demographics thanks to the miles of film that show the orange 1969 Dodge Charger and the jet-black 1977 Pontiac Trans Am performing seemingly impossible stunts.
The folks at Hot Rod magazine are obviously hip to this fact, and they put together a fun video in tribute of the instantly recognizable duo. Hit the jump to watch on as Sam Young and James Smith replace Bo Duke and The Bandit for a bit of dirt-road shenanigans in a pair of otherwise well cared for classics. We're not so sure we'd call it the best chase scene ever, but it sure looks like a lot of fun.
More importantly, which of these two cars would you rather own? Have your say in our poll below.

Looking back at Oprah's free-car giveaway 10 years later

Fri, 12 Sep 2014

Oprah kicked off her 19th season in dramatic fashion by giving all 276 members of the studio audience a free car.
Molly Vielweber's Pontiac G6 appears unremarkable at first glance. It wears forest green paint, rolls on five-spoke aluminum wheels, and it has a sizeable scrape in the driver's side door, the scar of a decade's worth of hard use. You wouldn't notice it parked at a big box store or cruising on the highway. Pontiac made hundreds of thousands of G6s in the 2000s, and a lot are still on the road. It's unremarkable in every way except for the front license plate, which reads, "Oprah 6."

Check out the official 2013 Trans Am Hurst Edition commercial

Sat, 16 Mar 2013

The Poncho is dead. Long live the Poncho. Like certain other reoccurring personal maladies, the aftermarket community simply can't let the Trans Am go without another flare up. The guys at Trans Am Depot have worked up a quick commercial for their newest creation: The 2013 Trans Am Hurst Edition, and it watches pretty much like you'd expect it to. The footage is comprised of just about every TA male fantasy you can conceive of, from Daisy Dukes and white tank tops to tramp stamps, bikinis and ice cream cones. There simply aren't words for what you'll see below.
Of course, we like our T-Tops as much as the next guy. If you like what you see in the videos, you can pick up your very own TA by heading over to the Trans Am Depot site. The guys even have Chevrolet Camaro-based versions of the Pontiac GTO if the '77 TA treatment is too much for your tastes. Enjoy, but don't say we didn't warn you.
