I have a 1971 lemans 2door I bought a bought about five years ago not running. It needs to be redone or drive as a beater. It has drum brakes all the way around. It has been on the road and I have been driving it. I put a lot of new parts into ths car. The whole braking system has been re3done, fuel pump and gas tank and all brake lines, water pump, exhaust system and it sounds tuned perfect while at idle but not!!!!!! I spent a few dollars on the mufflers so it sounded good. The carb needs to be rebuilt and sorry its not a four barrel but I have a four barrel manifold that goes with it as well as floor pans rear lower sheet metal ($250)around window. The car has headers and put new gaskets but some bolts that hold headers on need to be replaced. The doors shut perfect and locks are new.  I recommend you come by to take a look and listen to it run. I have interior parts I took out but not all. I remember I looked up the production of this car and the number was low possible its worth more if fewer were made? Take a look the vin is in the add

Give me a call for a time to come see it

Lutz says GM was working on 5th-gen Pontiac GTO

Thu, 08 Aug 2013 08:45:00 EST

Bob Lutz was one of the forces behind bringing the Holden Monaro to the United States, as the ill-fated Pontiac GTO in 2004. And while that car received critical acclaim, it was a sales disappointment. Now, Road & Track is reporting that our suspicions were correct - Pontiac was working on a two-door, G8-based coupe before it was shuttered.
In that R&T article, which is no longer available online, Lutz explained that the new GTO would solve many of the issues found in the original. Car Advice speculates that the new model would have look like a rebadged version of the Holden Coupe 60 Concept from 2008, a conclusion we also came to.
That car would have been a big departure from the 2004 to 2006 GTO. It has an extremely long hood and short rear deck, with an almost fastback roofline and a wide greenhouse with a tall beltline. The wheel arches were very pronounced, and the chin and rocker panel splitters gave it a race-ready look. Would it have been enough to make the GTO work in the US? We think it might of, but it looks like we'll never know.

2008-2009 Pontiac G8 recalled over airbag concern

Mon, 07 Nov 2011 13:30:00 EST

General Motors is recalling around 38,000 Pontiac G8 sedans from its 2008 and 2009 model years. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that the cars may have a passenger-side airbag flaw that might prevent proper deployment in certain scenarios.
According to NHTSA, the airbag might not adequately protect a fifth percentile woman - that is, a woman around four-foot, 11-inches weighing 108 pounds. The New York Times indicates that the anomaly was found during a crash test conducted by GM's Australian branch, Holden, which was testing the G8's twin (read: Commodore) for head injuries. According to that report, the test in question is specifically tailored to simulate injuries to females, so the results do not apply to men or children.
The issue has been blamed on a seat position sensor that governs airbag deployment rates. NHTSA indicates that when the front passenger seat is moved all the way forward, the faulty sensor may inappropriately trigger a 30-millisecond delay between airbag stages, potentially leading to greater injuries.

NHTSA could add 1M cars to GM recall

Wed, 13 Mar 2013 09:12:00 EST

The Detroit Free Press is reporting that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration may expand a recall campaign for faulty brake lamps. The agency is currently looking into complaints that certain 2004-2011 Chevrolet Malibu models as well as some 2007-2009 Saturn Aura sedans may have brake lights that do not illuminate when the driver presses the pedal. Alternatively, the lamps may also illuminate without input from the driver. General Motors recalled 8,000 Pontiac G6 models from the 2005 model year for the same problem, and NHTSA is currently investigating whether to add 550,000 more G6 models built between 2005 and 2009 to the list for the same issue.
In addition, investigators are currently examining 97 complaints from Malibu and Aura owners with the same trouble. If NHTSA adds those models to the recall campaign, more than one million units could be covered. GM, meanwhile, says there have been no accidents or injuries as a result of the problem.
