2000 Pontiac Grand Prix Gtp Supercharged One Owner 26,000 Miles New! on 2040-cars

Year:2000 Mileage:26300

Hi.  I am listing this for my 75 year old father.

If you are looking for the typical Grand Prix that has been carved up for stereo, had the windows tinted, been smoked in, had those God awful sunvisor things double face taped to the door windows ruining the paint, and just beat up and had the general guts run out of it with computer chips, red hoses, and cold air cleaner boxes, then you need to keep looking elsewhere.  This car is not for you.

But, if you are looking for a one owner survivor car that has always sat inside then read on.  This car is a creampuff.

Dad special ordered and bought this car new.  When he bought this, both his kids were grown up and moved out.  This car has never been smoked in or hogged out with french fries between the seats or sticky candy left behind by kids.  Mom drove it the first two years then it got parked for her to haul grandkids in a van.  Dad always kept it with the idea that she would someday want it back, but she does not.  He has however driven it about a couple hundred miles per year just in case it had to go back into service.  Dad hates to get rid of it, but he has too many other collector cars and something needs to go in the name of gaining some of his garage space back.

This car has never been smoked in or wrecked.  It still runs, drives, smells, and looks like the new car it is.  Everything works.  Over the years, the only things that needed changing were the oil and battery.  The tires are the original Good Years and are balanced perfectly.  I have driven it and I am here to tell you it runs and drives very well.  It is really fun to drive with the supercharger and the good looking dash cluster.  Pontiac sure made some fine automobiles.

It comes with all the books in the glovebox including special order form and window sticker that looks like it never got attached.  It is perfect.

You will never find one nicer that is this well equipped.  It has the sunroof, CD player, Dual Zone Air Conditioning, Heated Drivers Seat, EyeCue Head Up Display, plus the optional highly polished 16 inch wheels which look like new.  Plus it has all the other common stuff like power windows, locks, tilt, cruise, and power seat.

If you have any questions, I would encourage you to call the owner, Jerry at 812 459-1438.

We will not disclose the reserve.  The best way to handle this is to just bid what you think it is worth and can afford.

When it is time to pick it up and pay for it, contact us and we will be happy to work out some sort of safe arrangement.

Hurst Edition Trans Am proves the Screaming Chicken will rise from the ashes

Wed, 31 Oct 2012

It seems the Pontiac Trans Am steadfastly refuses to die. Ever since Chevrolet was granted a retrofied Camaro to compete with the Ford Mustang, Pontiac lovers have lamented the loss of this 1970s icon. And, looking at the Hurst Edition from Trans Am Depot, shown here at the 2012 SEMA Show, may explain what all the fuss is about.
It's not going to appeal to everyone's muscle-car tastes, but there's certainly room for a brash-and-bold black-and-gold Special Edition in many a Trans Am lover's garage. After all, if you want the keys to a custom pony car, you'll certainly get noticed in this one. If this scheme isn't your bag,, you can alternatively order your Hurst Edition in white and gold or silver and black. Oh, and don't forget a color-coordinated Screaming Chicken on the hood.
No matter which way you choose to go, your inner Burt Reynolds will appreciate the Eibach suspension kit, forged wheels with Pirelli PZero tires, functional shaker hood, fender air extractors, rear spoiler and, of course, a Hurst shifter inside. The interior is emblazoned with all manner of special touches, including a Hurst dash plate and T/A stitching on the Katzkin two-tone leather seats.

Rumormill: DeLorean Motor Company considering rescuing Pontiac Solstice?

DeLorean Motor Company Pontiac Solstice renderings - Click above for high-res image gallery
General Motors has made a science out of sharing platforms. So when the company's Kappa platform was introduced for a new rear-drive roadster to be distributed across three different motor divisions, you'd have figured the program was pretty safe, right? Unfortunately for the workers at the Wilmington Assembly Plant which manufactured the Kappa roadsters, those three divisions were Pontiac, Saturn and Opel - three units which the General has either sold or shut down. Which is a shame, because a perfectly good rear-drive roadster platform is a heck of a thing to waste.
In one of the strangest rumors we've heard recently, however, our compatriots over at Jalopnik report that the DeLorean Motor Company (yes, that DeLorean Motor Company) is considering buying the plant and the platform from GM and putting it back into production as a new DMC.

Tony Stewart to star in Smoke Is The Bandit web series

Mon, 10 Mar 2014

NASCAR driver Tony Stewart is making good use of his nickname Smoke in new videos inspired by the 1970s classic Smokey and the Bandit. The original is one of the quintessential automotive movies of its era with a fantastic combination of slapstick comedy and great car stunts in a Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. If you've never seen it, check it out immediately.
In the new six-part Smoke IS the Bandit web series, Stewart takes on the role of Burt Reynolds' famous character complete with huge mustache. But instead of trying to smuggle cases of Coors beer it's Mobil 1 oil. The series promises to recreate many of the famous scenes from the movie and includes cameos from other NASCAR drivers.
To complete the look, future videos just need a quality replacement for a young Sally Field to ride shotgun. It would also be really cool if Reynolds could make a brief appearance at some point. Scroll down to check out the trailer and the first episode in the series.
