1977 Pontiac Grand Prix Sj Coupe 2-door 6.6l on 2040-cars
Cuba City, Wisconsin, United States
Up for sale is a 1977 Pontiac Grand Prix LJ that I purchased from the original owner. The car came from Missouri with a body that is straight and clean with some minor wear typical for a car of this age. The underside is very clean and showing no rust. The interior has some damage from being in the sun. Please examine the photos. You can hop in the car start it up and listen to that Pontiac 400 V-8 "growl". There is a console equipped automatic which adds to the driving joy. There is a small crack on the bottom corner of the windshield that may need repair. The original owner loved his car so much that he had a garage built for it when he could no longer drive. The car was stored in this garage for the past 18 years. There were only 57,800 on the GP when it was taken from the garage and to a dealer to be made "road ready" so the original owner could see it run once more. The list of items repaired in with the car photos. This car is PHS documented. The car comes with a copy of the original window sticker. The car has 27 factory options and sold for $8,023.65 in 1977. Also included with the car are the 1977 Sales Literature, Paint Chips, Shop and Body Manuals on CD Disc, Bound copy of the shop manual (came from a library)and a Fischer Body Manual. The car is appraised at $15,000 and is being offered at a spring sale buy it now price of $9,950. This is a sharp GP that you can get in and drive, restore later, or keep it as a survivor. Please look over the photos and contact me with any questions. The car may be inspected any time prior to the end of the auction. Settlement terms are a $1,000.00 non-refundable deposit via PayPal within two days of the auction close with the remainder due within five days via a wire transfer. You may send me questions via the listing or by contacting Dave at (608) 575-2492 8:00am to 8:pm (WI) |

This Auto Aerobics car art ties our brains in knots like pretzels
Sat, 14 Dec 2013We like cars, and we like art. Naturally, Chris Labrooy's Auto Aerobics series - computer-generated images of some seriously contorted 1968 Pontiac Bonnevilles floating in mid-air - instantly clicked with us. If the Pontiacs weren't floating or hollow, we could be fooled into believing the image is real. But where's the fun in that?
Check out the gallery we included of Labrooy's Bonneville art, and feel free too head over to his website for some Formula One humor.
GM recalling 8.4M cars, 8.2M related to ignition problems
Mon, 30 Jun 2014General Motors today announced a truly massive recall covering some 8.4 million vehicles in North America. Most significantly, 8.2 million examples of the affected vehicles are being called back due to "unintended ignition key rotation," though GM spokesperson Alan Adler tells Autoblog that this issue is not like the infamous Chevy Cobalt ignition switch fiasco.
For the sake of perspective, translated to US population, this total recall figure would equal a car for each resident of New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Montana, Delaware, South Dakota, Alaska, North Dakota, the District of Columbia, Vermont and Wyoming. Combined. Here's how it all breaks down:
7,610,862 vehicles in North America being recalled for unintended ignition key rotation. 6,805,679 are in the United States.
Lutz dishes dirt on GM in latest Autoline Detroit
Mon, 20 Jun 2011Bob Lutz sits down for Autoline Detroit - Click above to watch video after the jump
Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
All Chevrolet vehicles were required to have five-spoke aluminum wheels and a chrome band up front, as part of the Bowtie brand's overall image.
