This is a rare 4 speed Convertible Grand prix. I have the PHS paper work to prove this car is the real deal. The car has 39000 original miles. The car came with pwr brakes, pwr steering, pwr antenna, pwr top ,rear speakers, door ege guards, 4 speed manual, 4 barrel 400 motor 350 hp. The motor in the car is the original XZ motor. There were only 536 qty.built in 1967 thats the whole run of all the cars with the XZ motor and 4 speed. There is said to be just a hand full that were 1967 Grand Prix's with a 4 speed factory. This car runs great and drives great, the car is a blast to drive. The trans shifts great its a aluiminum trans its the original I was told by the prior owner. The car has new brakes, tires, shocks springs, and front end parts. The paint is the original color, it has some scrathes and chips but still looks real good. The trunk looks like the day it was new. he convertible top is brand new with a glass window. The interior looks great the carpet is a bit worn around the gas pedal. the dash ,seats ect looks great. the heater does not work because the heater core stared to leak so it just got bypassed. The horn does not work. The car has the original TT3 head lights still in it. and yes the hideway head lights work. The pass sid grill has a peace missing but I have a nice one that goes with the car, and rocker moldings. The car starts right up and goes right down the road. If you have any ? please call 419-571-9777. You will love this car

Tony Stewart to star in Smoke Is The Bandit web series

Mon, 10 Mar 2014

NASCAR driver Tony Stewart is making good use of his nickname Smoke in new videos inspired by the 1970s classic Smokey and the Bandit. The original is one of the quintessential automotive movies of its era with a fantastic combination of slapstick comedy and great car stunts in a Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. If you've never seen it, check it out immediately.
In the new six-part Smoke IS the Bandit web series, Stewart takes on the role of Burt Reynolds' famous character complete with huge mustache. But instead of trying to smuggle cases of Coors beer it's Mobil 1 oil. The series promises to recreate many of the famous scenes from the movie and includes cameos from other NASCAR drivers.
To complete the look, future videos just need a quality replacement for a young Sally Field to ride shotgun. It would also be really cool if Reynolds could make a brief appearance at some point. Scroll down to check out the trailer and the first episode in the series.

Watch as Hot Rod goes from El Paso to LA the hard way

Tue, 21 Feb 2012

There are few things simultaneously more romantic and idiotic than taking a road trip in a beaten-down heap of a car. Trust us. We know. David Freiburger and Mike Finnegan of Hot Rod Magazine fame recently undertook an epic trip from El Paso, Texas to Los Angeles with the express goal of doing so for under $1,500, including the purchase price of a vehicle, food, lodging, repairs and, most importantly, fuel. With this in mind, the duo settled on a 1972 Pontiac Catalina for a lofty $650. Hilarity ensues.
Realizing that no one actually wants a Catalina sulking around the shop, Freiburger and Finnegan put the car up for auction on eBay Motors the instant they had the title in hand. By the time they rolled into Hot Rod HQ, the vehicle sold for a little over $500.
The video is part of a new series called Roadkill that should document similar adventures. Keep your eyes peeled for more calamity-soaked clips in the near future. In the meantime, hit the jump to check it out yourself.

Rumormill: DeLorean Motor Company considering rescuing Pontiac Solstice?

DeLorean Motor Company Pontiac Solstice renderings - Click above for high-res image gallery
General Motors has made a science out of sharing platforms. So when the company's Kappa platform was introduced for a new rear-drive roadster to be distributed across three different motor divisions, you'd have figured the program was pretty safe, right? Unfortunately for the workers at the Wilmington Assembly Plant which manufactured the Kappa roadsters, those three divisions were Pontiac, Saturn and Opel - three units which the General has either sold or shut down. Which is a shame, because a perfectly good rear-drive roadster platform is a heck of a thing to waste.
In one of the strangest rumors we've heard recently, however, our compatriots over at Jalopnik report that the DeLorean Motor Company (yes, that DeLorean Motor Company) is considering buying the plant and the platform from GM and putting it back into production as a new DMC.
