Mint condition 2006 GTO with only 55,300 easy highway miles.  Car was purchased new by me from Dave Sinclair Pontiac/Buick/GMC in July in 2007.  It has been garaged and babied ever since.  I have all the maintenance records and the 2004 and 2005 GTO brochures, (which come with the car.)  The car has had all scheduled maintenance including Mobil 1 synthetic oil and filter every 5000 miles.  This is my second GTO - I traded my 2004 5.7L GTO in on this one.  The car has never been smoked in.  No accidents, no dings, no paint issues.

The car comes with two sets of tires and wheels: the original Bridgestone summer tires on the 18" factory aluminum wheels, and a set of Dunlop Wintersport snow tires on 17" factory aluminum wheels.  This car is very agile in the snow with these Dunlop tires and the factory traction control.

The car comes with both the OEM Blaupunkt AM/FM/CD Changer radio (now in a box in the trunk), and with an Alpine iDA305 AM/FM/HD Radio/iPod controller installed in a GTO-specific bezel that matches the dashboard contour.  The Alpine unit includes the Audessey EQ unit and was calibrated by JML Audio in St. Louis to provide the best sound possible.  The unit sounds very comparable to the Harman-Kardon Logic 7 unit in my wife's Mercedes-Benz E350 and much, much better than stock.

How to turn a Pontiac Fiero into a trackday car

Fri, 17 Oct 2014

Imagine hitting the track in a mid-engine, rear-wheel drive sports coupe that's affordable and has pretty good parts availability. It might sound like a pipe dream, but it's actually quite possible, if you're willing to think a little outside the box. The Pontiac Fiero is out there just waiting for a little work to turn it into a competent racing machine.
Think about it for a second. Of course, we would all like to be snaking through the curves in something exotic, but what happens when you crash or something breaks? The bills are going to mount up quickly. However, if you ball up a Fiero at the track, as long as you're not hurt, then it's not a huge tragedy.
That's basically the story of Steven Snyder in a new video from Drive starring Matt Farah. Snyder wanted to go to the track cheaply and ended up with an awesome little Fiero with a huge wing and a claimed 220 horsepower at the wheels thanks to a V6 from a Chevrolet Lumina. Check out the video to see how this pint-size Pontiac performs.

Rumormill: DeLorean Motor Company considering rescuing Pontiac Solstice?

DeLorean Motor Company Pontiac Solstice renderings - Click above for high-res image gallery
General Motors has made a science out of sharing platforms. So when the company's Kappa platform was introduced for a new rear-drive roadster to be distributed across three different motor divisions, you'd have figured the program was pretty safe, right? Unfortunately for the workers at the Wilmington Assembly Plant which manufactured the Kappa roadsters, those three divisions were Pontiac, Saturn and Opel - three units which the General has either sold or shut down. Which is a shame, because a perfectly good rear-drive roadster platform is a heck of a thing to waste.
In one of the strangest rumors we've heard recently, however, our compatriots over at Jalopnik report that the DeLorean Motor Company (yes, that DeLorean Motor Company) is considering buying the plant and the platform from GM and putting it back into production as a new DMC.

GM recalling another 1.3-million cars over power steering woes

Mon, 31 Mar 2014

When it rains, it pours. General Motors has announced yet another major recall, covering 1.3 million units in the American market over concerns that the power steering could suddenly fail. As reported by The Detroit News' David Shepardson, GM has now recalled nearly ten times as many cars as it did all of last year.
It's important to note that should this problem arise in these cars, the steering won't fail completely, however, power steering could suddenly stop functioning. Manual steering would still be possible, but as GM says, there's an increased risk of accidents, particularly at lower speeds.
Like the ignition switch recall, this latest problem covers a wide range of vehicles from Chevrolet, Saturn and Pontiac. Normally, we'd give you the full rundown in paragraph form, but the variety of models and model years means a list is just easier. So, have a look, directly from GM's press release:
