______________________________________________________________________

This beautiful goat just had a six figure rotisserie restoration done to the highest standards.

NO EXPENSE WAS SPARED!!!

Every part on this car was either restored, repaired or replaced with the highest quality replacement and OEM parts. The restoration took about one year to complete. The car has approximately 300 miles on the complete restoration. The whole process was documented and I have over 1,000 pictures.

We started with a real 242 code GTO convertible with 128,000 miles on the original drive-train. This car has had two owners prior to me. The first owner had the car for about six months. The second owner had the car for 42 years until I purchased it from them. I have some of the original documentation including the original build sheet.

The car was completely disassembled and media blasted right down to a bare shell. The frame was also media blasted and painted. All new suspension and brake components were put on the frame and we started doing the body restoration. Just the paint and body work was over $35,000 between parts and labor. We used genuine GM Goodmark metal. The paint job consists over three coats of base-coat and another three coats of clear.

This car boasts the original numbers matching 400/TURBO 400 drive-train. The motor, transmission and rear-end were rebuilt. The motor was built to RAM AIR THREE specifications with a fully functioning Ram Air Three Kit added.

The rest of the restoration was also done to the highest possible standards. I can send you more pictures of the entire process if you wish.

Please contact me if you have any questions. I would encourage you to get an inspection done or arrange to come and see the car in person if you can.

This car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early if the vehicle is no longer available for sale. Auctions are serious business. PAYMENT MUST BE MADE BY BANK WIRE TRANSFER ONLY, no exceptions!! Please only bid if you intend on completing the transaction. The car is for sale as is where it is. GOOD LUCK WITH THE BIDDING!!

Rumormill: DeLorean Motor Company considering rescuing Pontiac Solstice?

DeLorean Motor Company Pontiac Solstice renderings - Click above for high-res image gallery
General Motors has made a science out of sharing platforms. So when the company's Kappa platform was introduced for a new rear-drive roadster to be distributed across three different motor divisions, you'd have figured the program was pretty safe, right? Unfortunately for the workers at the Wilmington Assembly Plant which manufactured the Kappa roadsters, those three divisions were Pontiac, Saturn and Opel - three units which the General has either sold or shut down. Which is a shame, because a perfectly good rear-drive roadster platform is a heck of a thing to waste.
In one of the strangest rumors we've heard recently, however, our compatriots over at Jalopnik report that the DeLorean Motor Company (yes, that DeLorean Motor Company) is considering buying the plant and the platform from GM and putting it back into production as a new DMC.

Check out the official 2013 Trans Am Hurst Edition commercial

Sat, 16 Mar 2013

The Poncho is dead. Long live the Poncho. Like certain other reoccurring personal maladies, the aftermarket community simply can't let the Trans Am go without another flare up. The guys at Trans Am Depot have worked up a quick commercial for their newest creation: The 2013 Trans Am Hurst Edition, and it watches pretty much like you'd expect it to. The footage is comprised of just about every TA male fantasy you can conceive of, from Daisy Dukes and white tank tops to tramp stamps, bikinis and ice cream cones. There simply aren't words for what you'll see below.
Of course, we like our T-Tops as much as the next guy. If you like what you see in the videos, you can pick up your very own TA by heading over to the Trans Am Depot site. The guys even have Chevrolet Camaro-based versions of the Pontiac GTO if the '77 TA treatment is too much for your tastes. Enjoy, but don't say we didn't warn you.

NHTSA could add 1M cars to GM recall

Wed, 13 Mar 2013

The Detroit Free Press is reporting that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration may expand a recall campaign for faulty brake lamps. The agency is currently looking into complaints that certain 2004-2011 Chevrolet Malibu models as well as some 2007-2009 Saturn Aura sedans may have brake lights that do not illuminate when the driver presses the pedal. Alternatively, the lamps may also illuminate without input from the driver. General Motors recalled 8,000 Pontiac G6 models from the 2005 model year for the same problem, and NHTSA is currently investigating whether to add 550,000 more G6 models built between 2005 and 2009 to the list for the same issue.
In addition, investigators are currently examining 97 complaints from Malibu and Aura owners with the same trouble. If NHTSA adds those models to the recall campaign, more than one million units could be covered. GM, meanwhile, says there have been no accidents or injuries as a result of the problem.
