1968 GTO project car. The car has had the original 400 rebuilt and bored .030 over. 650 cfm holley carb replaced the original Rochester quadrajet electronic ignition replaced the original points style. The car is a non A/C, hood tach, non hideaway headlight #'S matching 400 4 speed GTO that with the right person skilled in auto body mechanic work could be a very valuable classic car. I took a torch to a boneyard 69 gto and cut the complete rear quarter to replace the the damage to the quarter on my 68 ( marker lights are different on the two years but is not a big issue to change) the frame can be straightened in the back corner drivers side where it is bent. the 68 also needs a dash harness for the electrical. I have collected many spare parts for this car over the years and they include a complete replacement dash, floor pans for the front floor on both sides, spare back glass and 1/4 glass to name a few. This is my first car. I have had the intentions to finish it for many years but the practical side knows that my sentimental attachment to this beast of a car will only make its condition worse by letting it set any longer. GM recalling another 1.3-million cars over power steering woes

General Motors has announced yet another major recall, covering 1.3 million units in the American market over concerns that the power steering could suddenly fail. As reported by The Detroit News' David Shepardson, GM has now recalled nearly ten times as many cars as it did all of last year.
It's important to note that should this problem arise in these cars, the steering won't fail completely, however, power steering could suddenly stop functioning. Manual steering would still be possible, but as GM says, there's an increased risk of accidents, particularly at lower speeds.
Like the ignition switch recall, this latest problem covers a wide range of vehicles from Chevrolet, Saturn and Pontiac. 588,000 Saturn Sky, Saturn Ion, Pontiac Solstice and Chevy HHR models join the 778,000 cars already being recalled.
General Motors has announced a massive expansion of a 778,000-unit recall we told you about two weeks ago, doubling not only the total number of cars affected but expanding the recall beyond Chevrolet Cobalt and Pontiac G5 models previously mentioned. The recall originally centered around ignition switches that could slip out of the "run" position if jostled or if any weight was applied to the key in the cylinder.

General Motors has made a science out of sharing platforms. So when the company's Kappa platform was introduced for a new rear-drive roadster to be distributed across three different motor divisions, you'd have figured the program was pretty safe, right? Unfortunately for the workers at the Wilmington Assembly Plant which manufactured the Kappa roadsters, those three divisions were Pontiac, Saturn and Opel - three units which the General has either sold or shut down. Which is a shame, because a perfectly good rear-drive roadster platform is a heck of a thing to waste.
In one of the strangest rumors we've heard recently, however, our compatriots over at Jalopnik report that the DeLorean Motor Company (yes, that DeLorean Motor Company) is considering buying the plant and the platform from GM and putting it back into production as a new DMC.
