For Sale is a true Barn Find that you, as a collector, have been looking for. A restoration project that deserves attention. This 1966 Pontiac GTO is a desirable beast waiting for you to put it back onto the road. The car includes the engine, transmission, suspension, radiator, and and all other vital mechanical parts. In fact, the owner said that he drove the car into the storage, where it sat for years. This model has Air Conditioning, Power Brakes, and Power Steering which makes it rare. I was able to get the Code of the Engine which is: YA 463396 which is either a 1970s 400CI engine or an original 1966 389CI - You decide. The outside of the car has parts that are rusted through and need to be fixed, interior and trunk pans are not too bad, and the car does not include a hood. All the windows (Front, Rear, Passenger, and Driver) are all in good shape and are rolled down. Inside the GTO has original white leather seats with once beautiful chrome and wooden inlays (that will need to be cleaned and/or refinished). I have the 1975 TITLE from the car. I do not have the keys, therefore the doors and glovebox are closed (who knows what you can find there!!!) Various Parts that are shown in the pictures are included. Please call me at 253 397 9one6seven for any questions.

SHIPPING: Buyer is responsible for shipping.
WARRANTY: Vehicle is sold as is, no returns.
PAYMENT: A downpayment of $400 is required at the end of auction.

Aficionauto sits down with The Hoff and KITT

Fri, 10 Oct 2014

The latest video from The Aficionauto is the perfect palate cleanser for Knight Rider fans after finding out that Justin Bieber is the voice of KITT in an upcoming film. Host Christopher Rutkowski says that the Knight Industries Two Thousand is one of the most requested vehicles to appear on the series and for good reason - Michael Knight's Pontiac Trans-Am is among the most famous cars to ever appear on television.
While the video isn't able to showcase one of the original KITTs from the series, it does get star David Hasselhoff to drive his personal replica and talk about the lasting legacy of the show. The highlight here might be seeing The Hoff back behind the wheel in the open desert basically recreating Knight Rider's opening sequence.
With all of its flashing lights and gizmos, you can probably make the argument that KITT is pretty cheesy, and the show itself was never exactly a pillar of high-quality drama on television. Despite that, the series still provides a ton of good-natured fun, and The Hoff's continued enthusiasm for it is pretty infectious. Check out The Aficionauto video to take another ride with Knight Rider.

Tony Stewart to star in Smoke Is The Bandit web series

Mon, 10 Mar 2014

NASCAR driver Tony Stewart is making good use of his nickname Smoke in new videos inspired by the 1970s classic Smokey and the Bandit. The original is one of the quintessential automotive movies of its era with a fantastic combination of slapstick comedy and great car stunts in a Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. If you've never seen it, check it out immediately.
In the new six-part Smoke IS the Bandit web series, Stewart takes on the role of Burt Reynolds' famous character complete with huge mustache. But instead of trying to smuggle cases of Coors beer it's Mobil 1 oil. The series promises to recreate many of the famous scenes from the movie and includes cameos from other NASCAR drivers.
To complete the look, future videos just need a quality replacement for a young Sally Field to ride shotgun. It would also be really cool if Reynolds could make a brief appearance at some point. Scroll down to check out the trailer and the first episode in the series.

GM recalling 426,000 sedans over faulty transmission shift cable

Fri, 21 Sep 2012

General Motors is recalling some 426,240 sedans that may have a faulty transmission shift cable, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report this morning. The recall concerns a fault within four-speed automatic transmissions equipped on 2007-2010 Saturn Aura models, and 2008-2010 Chevrolet Malibu and Pontiac G6 models.
The report specifies that tabs on the transmission shift cable may fracture and separate. Such a fault could cause a discrepancy between the actual position of the transmission and the apparent position of the shift lever.
GM is currently working to notify owners of the vehicles in question, and dealers will check and replace shift cables free of charge. Scroll down to read the complete NHTSA report.
