documented, numbers matching 1964 Pontiac GTO Convertible, California black
plate car, with 4 speed transmission, tri-power, Safe-T-Track 3:23 posi rear end,
power steering, power brakes, power top, buckets, console. The original engine was just rebuilt last month and the new owner will enjoy the 24 month warranty
provided by the rebuilder. The tri-power carburetors were also rebuilt, and
a new clutch, water pump, harmonic balancer, and many other new parts, hoses and
belts were installed. The car runs great, and scary strong! Not for the faint
of heart! The body is very solid, no rust issues. Completely solid undercarriage, floors, frame, doors, rockers, etc. It appears the right rear wheel well had work at some time previously, and the trunk floor has been replaced. The older repaint shines well but has a variety of minor scratches and blemishes. Please see photos. The interior is in very good condition, a couple of cracks in the dash pad. The drivers window needs help going up sometimes, the passenger vent window latch is missing, and the tachometer doesn't work reliably. The power top goes up and down well, and the
car runs, drives and stops just great. Clean California title. Will ship anywhere, for cost, at buyer’s expense. ALL

Pontiac Firebird in latest Generation Gap scrap
Tue, 30 Sep 2014Generation Gap is mining the Lingenfelter collection again this week to compare two very different interpretations of the Pontiac Firebird. An original 1968 example goes toe-to-toe with a 2010 Lingenfelter Trans Am to see whether the old man or the modern re-imagining takes the crown.
Being from the Lingenfelter collection, both cars are absolutely immaculate. The '68 packs a Pontiac 350-cubic-inch (5.7-liter) V8 with a claimed 320 horsepower and some classic, muscular style with a hood-mounted tach. Plus, it's painted in an understated shade of green that you don't usually see.
In the other corner is Lingenfelter's pumped-up take on the classic shape based on the modern Camaro, and this is just one of six concept versions ever made. It wears an eye-catching, vintage-inspired livery of blue with a white stripe package. Under its shaker hood is a 455-cubic-inch (7.5-liter) V8 with a reported 655 hp and 610 pound-feet of torque.
GM recalling 426,000 sedans over faulty transmission shift cable
Fri, 21 Sep 2012General Motors is recalling some 426,240 sedans that may have a faulty transmission shift cable, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report this morning. The recall concerns a fault within four-speed automatic transmissions equipped on 2007-2010 Saturn Aura models, and 2008-2010 Chevrolet Malibu and Pontiac G6 models.
The report specifies that tabs on the transmission shift cable may fracture and separate. Such a fault could cause a discrepancy between the actual position of the transmission and the apparent position of the shift lever.
GM is currently working to notify owners of the vehicles in question, and dealers will check and replace shift cables free of charge. Scroll down to read the complete NHTSA report.

General Motors has made a science out of sharing platforms. So when the company's Kappa platform was introduced for a new rear-drive roadster to be distributed across three different motor divisions, you'd have figured the program was pretty safe, right? Unfortunately for the workers at the Wilmington Assembly Plant which manufactured the Kappa roadsters, those three divisions were Pontiac, Saturn and Opel - three units which the General has either sold or shut down. Which is a shame, because a perfectly good rear-drive roadster platform is a heck of a thing to waste.
In one of the strangest rumors we've heard recently, however, our compatriots over at Jalopnik report that the DeLorean Motor Company (yes, that DeLorean Motor Company) is considering buying the plant and the platform from GM and putting it back into production as a new DMC.
