For sale is a 2006 Pontiac G6.  I bought this car last summer in a pinch as my daily commuter and used it August through May without any issues or concerns.  Wonderful throaty V6 sound with great gas mileage (over 30 MPG) that rides smooth and quiet for the day to day and big trips we used it for this year.  Everything along interior works and nothing is missing!

I am selling this car AS IS condition.  Some notes regarding the car as I have used/noticed/fixed in my time with it:
  • Overall the interior is fair, previous owners were smokers.  I have done my best to clean and remove the smoke odor from the car but it still remains in some capacity.
  • The interior was dirty when I bought it, I have had it detailed once and done my best to shampoo/vacuum/clean before selling it.
  • There are a couple of burn holes in the front seats (driver side & passenger side) from previous owner(s).  They have not worsened since I have had the car.
  •  The body is fair, with some dings and scrapes that were mostly already existing.  Minor dings along driver side, hood, and roof.  Minor scraps along sides and rear end.
  • While washing the roof, my wonder scrubber scratched the roof (may appear on pictures?).  I believe these can be buffed and polished out and will be attempting to do so during the week.
  • Tires are OK for now, although they will probably need changed next spring.
  • If interested, I have a full set of studded winter tires for this car that have only been used this past season.
  • I also have the front license plate bracket for the car to be attached.

I have tried my best to be accurate and honest with this listing.  Any questions please let me know ahead of the end of auction.  I reserve the right to end the auction at any time as this car is listed for sale locally.  Shipping is responsibility of the buyer.

Pontiac Firebird in latest Generation Gap scrap

Tue, 30 Sep 2014

Generation Gap is mining the Lingenfelter collection again this week to compare two very different interpretations of the Pontiac Firebird. An original 1968 example goes toe-to-toe with a 2010 Lingenfelter Trans Am to see whether the old man or the modern re-imagining takes the crown.
Being from the Lingenfelter collection, both cars are absolutely immaculate. The '68 packs a Pontiac 350-cubic-inch (5.7-liter) V8 with a claimed 320 horsepower and some classic, muscular style with a hood-mounted tach. Plus, it's painted in an understated shade of green that you don't usually see.
In the other corner is Lingenfelter's pumped-up take on the classic shape based on the modern Camaro, and this is just one of six concept versions ever made. It wears an eye-catching, vintage-inspired livery of blue with a white stripe package. Under its shaker hood is a 455-cubic-inch (7.5-liter) V8 with a reported 655 hp and 610 pound-feet of torque.

2008-2009 Pontiac G8 recalled over airbag concern

Mon, 07 Nov 2011

General Motors is recalling around 38,000 Pontiac G8 sedans from its 2008 and 2009 model years. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that the cars may have a passenger-side airbag flaw that might prevent proper deployment in certain scenarios.
According to NHTSA, the airbag might not adequately protect a fifth percentile woman - that is, a woman around four-foot, 11-inches weighing 108 pounds. The New York Times indicates that the anomaly was found during a crash test conducted by GM's Australian branch, Holden, which was testing the G8's twin (read: Commodore) for head injuries. According to that report, the test in question is specifically tailored to simulate injuries to females, so the results do not apply to men or children.
The issue has been blamed on a seat position sensor that governs airbag deployment rates. NHTSA indicates that when the front passenger seat is moved all the way forward, the faulty sensor may inappropriately trigger a 30-millisecond delay between airbag stages, potentially leading to greater injuries.

GM recalling another 1.3-million cars over power steering woes

Mon, 31 Mar 2014

When it rains, it pours. General Motors has announced yet another major recall, covering 1.3 million units in the American market over concerns that the power steering could suddenly fail. As reported by The Detroit News' David Shepardson, GM has now recalled nearly ten times as many cars as it did all of last year.
It's important to note that should this problem arise in these cars, the steering won't fail completely, however, power steering could suddenly stop functioning. Manual steering would still be possible, but as GM says, there's an increased risk of accidents, particularly at lower speeds.
Like the ignition switch recall, this latest problem covers a wide range of vehicles from Chevrolet, Saturn and Pontiac. Normally, we'd give you the full rundown in paragraph form, but the variety of models and model years means a list is just easier. So, have a look, directly from GM's press release:
