Overall a very nice Trans Am. Body and frame very straight and very clean. I don't believe it's been wrecked and I've seen no rust. Weatherstripping is in very good condition, pliable, no leaks or wind noise, including the T-Tops. Paint is in good shape for its age, there is an area on the passenger fender top where the clear coat is missing, from sitting under a tree for a couple of years. Interior is in pretty good shape considering its age and neglect. Black leather, front seats have some tears that may be repairable, I haven't taken it somewhere to find out but it looks repairable to me, and the dash does have crackage. Rear seats, door panels and carpeting are good, the overhead is good and the covers are there for the T-Tops. All the features, with the exception of the cruise control, work just fine. Pop-up headlights, tail lights, running lights, reverse lights, dash lights and gauges, turn signals and hazards, factory stereo and steering wheel radio controls, power antenna, and the odometer and tripometer all in good working condition. All the glass is good, the power windows work but are slow, the power mirrors work and the A/C blows cold.

The engine is suspect and I guess I would consider the possibility of a rebuild if making an offer. That may be a little extreme because the engine idles well and runs out well, pulls strong and doesn't use any oil, however it has had a head gasket sealer through the radiator and a hot idle low oil pressure. The car needs a set of tires and the shocks feel like original equipment.
Rear end doesn't make any noises and has a fresh fluid change. Transmission shifts smoothly and has a new ACDelco clutch kit, flywheel, slave and master cylinder.
The car runs and drives and has a cold A/C.  Leather wrapped steering wheel in great shape with some play at the center. The car has simply been neglected for awhile in all areas and I've been trying to bring it back a little at the time. I believe it to be a very good choice for someone, and they will get a very nice Trans Am for a really great price. The only reason it's for sale is because I'm looking for a 77-78
Any questions please ask and thanks for looking : )

Aficionauto sits down with The Hoff and KITT

Fri, 10 Oct 2014

The latest video from The Aficionauto is the perfect palate cleanser for Knight Rider fans after finding out that Justin Bieber is the voice of KITT in an upcoming film. Host Christopher Rutkowski says that the Knight Industries Two Thousand is one of the most requested vehicles to appear on the series and for good reason - Michael Knight's Pontiac Trans-Am is among the most famous cars to ever appear on television.
While the video isn't able to showcase one of the original KITTs from the series, it does get star David Hasselhoff to drive his personal replica and talk about the lasting legacy of the show. The highlight here might be seeing The Hoff back behind the wheel in the open desert basically recreating Knight Rider's opening sequence.
With all of its flashing lights and gizmos, you can probably make the argument that KITT is pretty cheesy, and the show itself was never exactly a pillar of high-quality drama on television. Despite that, the series still provides a ton of good-natured fun, and The Hoff's continued enthusiasm for it is pretty infectious. Check out The Aficionauto video to take another ride with Knight Rider.

Pontiac Firebird in latest Generation Gap scrap

Tue, 30 Sep 2014

Generation Gap is mining the Lingenfelter collection again this week to compare two very different interpretations of the Pontiac Firebird. An original 1968 example goes toe-to-toe with a 2010 Lingenfelter Trans Am to see whether the old man or the modern re-imagining takes the crown.
Being from the Lingenfelter collection, both cars are absolutely immaculate. The '68 packs a Pontiac 350-cubic-inch (5.7-liter) V8 with a claimed 320 horsepower and some classic, muscular style with a hood-mounted tach. Plus, it's painted in an understated shade of green that you don't usually see.
In the other corner is Lingenfelter's pumped-up take on the classic shape based on the modern Camaro, and this is just one of six concept versions ever made. It wears an eye-catching, vintage-inspired livery of blue with a white stripe package. Under its shaker hood is a 455-cubic-inch (7.5-liter) V8 with a reported 655 hp and 610 pound-feet of torque.

GM expands ignition switch recall to over 1.3 million cars amid climbing death toll

Tue, 25 Feb 2014

588,000 Saturn Sky, Saturn Ion, Pontiac Solstice and Chevy HHR models join the 778,000 cars already being recalled.
General Motors has announced a massive expansion of a 778,000-unit recall we told you about two weeks ago, doubling not only the total number of cars affected but expanding the recall beyond Chevrolet Cobalt and Pontiac G5 models previously mentioned. The recall originally centered around ignition switches that could slip out of the "run" position if jostled or if any weight was applied to the key in the cylinder.
