2002 Pontiac Firebird-Trans Am Convertible Collector's Edition......THE LEGACY WS6 PERFORMANCE AND HANDLING PACKAGE DELIVERING RAM AIR INDUCTION WITH FUNCTIONAL AIR SCOOPS.

The last of the breed with everything virtually as new, this Collector Edition Trans Am Convertible hails from the final year of the venerable Firebird as one of only 1,041 convertibles built. Highly distinctive with special exterior trim and the interior accented with Yellow carbon fiber and matching door panels. Black leather seats feature embroidered "Collector Edition" scripts. A Black convertible top provides further appeal and a Monsoon premium sound system includes a 12-disc CD changer in the trunk.

The engine remains untouched and all electrical equipment is in proper working condition. The handsome body bears no dents or scratches and the car has suffered no reported accidents. Practically new with fewer than 4,000 original miles, the car even smells new inside and the tires remain virtually new. In addition to a factory alarm system, the Trans Am features a 325-bhp 5.7-liter LS1 V-8 engine, 4-speed automatic transmission. Specific Trans Am Collector Edition items include the Collector Yellow Exterior Color, Collector Edition Body Graphics, Painted Black Aluminum Wheels, 275/40ZR17 speed rated tires, and Collector Edition floor mats. The legendary WS6 Performance and Handling Package was included as well, delivering Ram Air induction with functional air scoops, low-restriction polished dual exhaust system, power steering cooler, Specific Tuned Suspension, and a 3.23:1 performance rear-axle ratio. A virtual "time warp" offered in as-new condition, this superb collector car perfectly marks the end of 35 years of Pontiac Firebird production. It is looking for new home to be pampered and taken care of as the previous two owners did and kept its legendary. Please, low-ballers do not waste your time. This is serious car with seriously priced to sell.

GM recalls 61k more vehicles in three campaigns

Sun, 05 Oct 2014 14:00:00 EST

Following a stop-delivery order for its new midsize trucks and a rash of recent recalls, General Motors is issuing three more campaigns covering 60,575 vehicles in North America with 57,182 of them in the US. As of October 1, the automaker has issued a total of 74 recalls (see the ridiculously long chart to the right) this year covering 26,495,070 units in the US.
The largest campaign covers 46,873 examples in the US of the 2008-2009 Pontiac G8 and 2011-2013 Chevrolet Caprice Police Patrol Vehicle imported from Australia. It's possible for the driver's knee to hit the key and make it move from the "Run" to "ACC" position while driving. GM says its Holden division is developing a fixed-blade key that's supposed to fix the problem by only allowing it to rotate toward the "On" position. There has been one crash caused by this fault but no injuries or fatalities.
The second recall is for 10,005 units of the 2004-2007 Cadillac CTS-V and 2006-2007 Cadillac STS-V because "the fuel pump module electrical terminal may overheat." This can cause a flange to melt and allow the pump to leak fuel. GM specifies that the remedy for the CTS-V is replacing the fuel module and fuel tank jumper harness, but it doesn't specify how the STS-V is being repaired.

GM expands ignition switch recall to over 1.3 million cars amid climbing death toll

Tue, 25 Feb 2014 16:00:00 EST

588,000 Saturn Sky, Saturn Ion, Pontiac Solstice and Chevy HHR models join the 778,000 cars already being recalled.
General Motors has announced a massive expansion of a 778,000-unit recall we told you about two weeks ago, doubling not only the total number of cars affected but expanding the recall beyond Chevrolet Cobalt and Pontiac G5 models previously mentioned. The recall originally centered around ignition switches that could slip out of the "run" position if jostled or if any weight was applied to the key in the cylinder.

STUDY: Ford owns brand loyalty in 2009; Scorned Saturn, Pontiac buyers will look outside of GM

Fri, 16 Oct 2009 10:55:00 EST

Ford buyers appear to love their cars more than customers of any other automotive brand, returning back to the American automaker when it comes time to purchase their next vehicle. According to a study by Experian Automotive, six of the top 10 vehicles for customer brand loyalty wear badges from the Blue Oval. That includes the Ford Fusion (62.4 percent), Ford Edge (57.9 percent), Ford Five Hundred/Taurus (56 percent), Ford Freestyle (51.9 percent), Ford Escape (49.4 percent) and the Ford Focus (47.57 percent).
Other vehicles making up the top 10 include the Toyota Prius (52 percent), Chevy Impala (51.7 percent), Toyota Camry (47.8 percent) and Toyota Corolla (47.56 percent). This brings up an interesting question: With the closing of automotive brands like Saturn and Pontiac, where are those buyers to turn for their next automotive purchase?
Apparently, not back to General Motors. According to Experian, Pontiac owners are most likely to look to the Ford lineup for their next car or truck and Saturn shoppers will switch to Toyota or Honda - not particularly surprising given that Saturn was meant to compete with import brands. Experian predicts that GM's overall market share will fall from 20 percent to about 17.5 percent, with most of the slack being picked up by Ford, Honda and Toyota.
