1984 Firebird Trans Am on 2040-cars
Galion, Ohio, United States
This was my daily driver for the past 4 years and runs good. Has newer tires 235-60-15, exhaust including the cat. Paint still shows good, but could use a repaint down the road. The water pump and belts replaced around dec. last year. Inside still looks good, only has one small hole in the drivers seat. Dash pad is good, no cracks. center console lid and knee pad in great shape Outer side window seals replace when it got a repaint 4 years ago. Clutch was replaced around 10,000 miles ago and still work great. No rust holes on this car and the floors are solid as it was under coated when new. The rear defrost even works. Hood and hatch strut are all good. Known problems, Head light don't go up with the switch, but will go down with the switch, so the motors are good. A/C doesn't work, but is still all there and hooked up. Speedo quite working last week and only works when it wants to. Speedo is good and the cable is good, so it most be the plastic gear in the trans. This is a 30 year old car and sold as-is. Nice car to drive and fix has you go. $500.00 deposit due with in 2 days of the end of the auction. On Jun-14-14 at 06:42:23 PDT, seller added the following information: Had a request for more pictures. They added now. The car runs fine and No, the engine check light isn't on. |

This Auto Aerobics car art ties our brains in knots like pretzels
Sat, 14 Dec 2013We like cars, and we like art. Naturally, Chris Labrooy's Auto Aerobics series - computer-generated images of some seriously contorted 1968 Pontiac Bonnevilles floating in mid-air - instantly clicked with us. If the Pontiacs weren't floating or hollow, we could be fooled into believing the image is real. But where's the fun in that?
Check out the gallery we included of Labrooy's Bonneville art, and feel free too head over to his website for some Formula One humor.
Lutz dishes dirt on GM in latest Autoline Detroit
Mon, 20 Jun 2011Bob Lutz sits down for Autoline Detroit - Click above to watch video after the jump
Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
All Chevrolet vehicles were required to have five-spoke aluminum wheels and a chrome band up front, as part of the Bowtie brand's overall image.
How to turn a Pontiac Fiero into a trackday car
Fri, 17 Oct 2014Imagine hitting the track in a mid-engine, rear-wheel drive sports coupe that's affordable and has pretty good parts availability. It might sound like a pipe dream, but it's actually quite possible, if you're willing to think a little outside the box. The Pontiac Fiero is out there just waiting for a little work to turn it into a competent racing machine.
Think about it for a second. Of course, we would all like to be snaking through the curves in something exotic, but what happens when you crash or something breaks? The bills are going to mount up quickly. However, if you ball up a Fiero at the track, as long as you're not hurt, then it's not a huge tragedy.
That's basically the story of Steven Snyder in a new video from Drive starring Matt Farah. Snyder wanted to go to the track cheaply and ended up with an awesome little Fiero with a huge wing and a claimed 220 horsepower at the wheels thanks to a V6 from a Chevrolet Lumina. Check out the video to see how this pint-size Pontiac performs.
