UP FOR AUCTION : RARE! 1978 PONTIAC FORMULA 400 4-SPEED T-TOP PROJECT. THIS 'BIRD WAS HARD TO FIND, ONLY A HANDFUL MADE (YOU PONTIAC GUYS WOULD KNOW HOW MANY). IT COMES ORIGINAL WITH THE HURST 4-SPEED (REBUILT), AND ALL THE OTHER PARTS, EXCEPT ENGINE BLOCK. THE BODY IS ROUGH, AND WILL NEED ALOT OF WORK. THERE ARE RUSTOUT AREAS IN COMMON PLACES (FENDER BOTTOMS, REAR QUARTERS) PANS ARE SOLID. FIREWALL, AND DASH SOLID. THE INTERIOR IS "DRIVER QUALITY", WITH TYPICAL WEAR. THERE IS NO MOTOR. ALTHOUGH, IT CAME WITH A SMALL BLOCK CHEVY (EASY TO REPLACE). THIS CAR IS KIND OF AN ANOMOLY. WHEN INTRODUCED TO THE MARKET, IT WAS CLAIMED TO HAVE A "PONTIAC" ENGINE. The Poncho is dead. Long live the Poncho. Like certain other reoccurring personal maladies, the aftermarket community simply can't let the Trans Am go without another flare up. The guys at Trans Am Depot have worked up a quick commercial for their newest creation: The 2013 Trans Am Hurst Edition, and it watches pretty much like you'd expect it to. The footage is comprised of just about every TA male fantasy you can conceive of, from Daisy Dukes and white tank tops to tramp stamps, bikinis and ice cream cones. There simply aren't words for what you'll see below.
Of course, we like our T-Tops as much as the next guy. If you like what you see in the videos, you can pick up your very own TA by heading over to the Trans Am Depot site. The guys even have Chevrolet Camaro-based versions of the Pontiac GTO if the '77 TA treatment is too much for your tastes. Enjoy, but don't say we didn't warn you.
GM issues four new recalls, 2.4 million cars affected
Tue, 20 May 2014General Motors has announced another set of recalls, covering some 2.42 million cars in the United States. For those keeping track, The General has now recalled over 15 million cars worldwide this year due to various issues.
Here's the breakdown for this most recent set of recalls:
1,339,355 - Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia models from the 2009 to 2014 model years; Saturn Outlook models from the 2009 to 2010 model years
GM recalling 8.4M cars, 8.2M related to ignition problems
Mon, 30 Jun 2014General Motors today announced a truly massive recall covering some 8.4 million vehicles in North America. Most significantly, 8.2 million examples of the affected vehicles are being called back due to "unintended ignition key rotation," though GM spokesperson Alan Adler tells Autoblog that this issue is not like the infamous Chevy Cobalt ignition switch fiasco.
For the sake of perspective, translated to US population, this total recall figure would equal a car for each resident of New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Montana, Delaware, South Dakota, Alaska, North Dakota, the District of Columbia, Vermont and Wyoming. Combined. Here's how it all breaks down:
7,610,862 vehicles in North America being recalled for unintended ignition key rotation. 6,805,679 are in the United States.
