Up for auction Is my 1978 firebird . Its Not a trans -am or formula just a very nice 1978 classic . I drive this car all the time , I drive it around 150 miles a week . The engine runs great , its the org. 305 . It has a 1976 chevrolet 4bbl 400ci intake . It has the numbers on the engine that match the VIN . The paint is awesome , it has only three blemishs a chip on the top of the passengers door , and the front left of the front bumper , and a crack in the paint at the drivers mirror .  Thats it , no swirrl marks , NO DENTS , SCRATCHS , FADING , looks awesome . The bumpers , glass and trim were removed before painting  . The front seats  are recovered and the dash , plus new carpet. I have not seen any bodywork done . I would say this is a rust free car . The only thing i would do is change the wheels ( rally II ) and mabey replace the valve seals ( after you go on trips and start it back up it sometimes smokes for a split second to burn the oil thats leaked down . This car is a fun driver that wont break the bank . I just realized that i have erased most of my pics , but message me and i will send you a link to my dropbox account and i  have a hundred pics there . My name is David and i have a clear title on it plus tag and insurance so you can test drive it . If you live far away please get a third party to come out and be your eyes and ears , if you buy it I will split the bill if its  in reason . I hear that leamon squad is good . If I can help at all call me at 828-448-5223. Its being sold as is . No warranty is implied . I reserve the right to end this at anytime . Thanks for looking . I just noticed that the tires have dust on them . They are shiny and black sorry for the ugly pics.

Lutz dishes dirt on GM in latest Autoline Detroit

Bob Lutz sits down for Autoline Detroit - Click above to watch video after the jump
Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
All Chevrolet vehicles were required to have five-spoke aluminum wheels and a chrome band up front, as part of the Bowtie brand's overall image.

Lutz says Washington killed Pontiac, next G6 was to be ATS derivative

Tue, 29 Oct 2013

How many people think Buick or GMC should have gotten the axe instead of Pontiac? You can't see it, but I'm raising my hand. Autoweek reports that former Vice Chairman of GM, Bob Lutz, has indicated that things didn't have to end up the way they did.
"The Feds said, 'Yeah, how much money have you made on Pontiac in the last 10 years?' and the answer was, 'Nothing.'"
In a talk given at the Petersen Automotive Museum for the Inside the MotoMan Studio series, Lutz says "The Feds said, 'Yeah, how much money have you made on Pontiac in the last 10 years?' and the answer was, 'Nothing.' So, it goes. And when the guy who is handing you the check for $53 billion says, 'I don't want Pontiac, drop Pontiac or you don't get the money,' it doesn't take you very long to make up your mind." Lutz even added that the next-generation Pontiac G6 would have benefitted from the rear-wheel-drive platform of the Cadillac ATS. How awesome would that have been?

This Auto Aerobics car art ties our brains in knots like pretzels

Sat, 14 Dec 2013

We like cars, and we like art. Naturally, Chris Labrooy's Auto Aerobics series - computer-generated images of some seriously contorted 1968 Pontiac Bonnevilles floating in mid-air - instantly clicked with us. If the Pontiacs weren't floating or hollow, we could be fooled into believing the image is real. But where's the fun in that?
Check out the gallery we included of Labrooy's Bonneville art, and feel free too head over to his website for some Formula One humor.
