1974 FORMULA FIREBIRD 4 SPEED, 1 OWNER BARN FIND WITH 28,990 ORIGINAL MILES. AIR COND. AND DELUXE CLOTH INTERIOR. SITTING SINCE 1978 .
HERE IS YOUR CHANCE TO PURCHASE AND RESTORE A VERY LOW MILE ORIGINAL FORMULA. THE CAR HAS SOME MINOR RUST ON THE SHEET METAL. THE REAR QUARTERS NEED SOME PATCHES BEHIND THE REAR TIRE AND SMALL PATCH IN FRONT OF THE REAR TIRE. DOORS ARE VERY SOLID WITH JUST SURFACE RUST ON THE SEAMS. THE BOTTOM OF THE FENDERS HAVE SMALL RUST SPOTS. THE TRUNK, FLOORS AND FRAME ARE ALL VERY SOLID AND ORIGINAL. OVERALL AN EASY FIX FOR AN EXPERIENCED BODY MAN. THE PAINT ALL APPEARS TO BE ORIGINAL. THE CAR HAS BEEN SITTING SINCE 1978. THIS IS STRAIGHT FROM THE SON WHO SOLD HIS FATHERS CAR. HIS FATHER JUST PASSED AWAY. THE FATHER BOUGHT THIS NEW IN 1974. THE INTERIOR SHOWS VERY LITTLE WEAR. THE DRIVERS SEAT BOLSTER HAS A SLIT FROM SOMETHING AND THE SEAM UP TOP HAS SPLIT WHERE THE CLOTH MEETS THE VINYL. THERE REALLY IS NO WEAR ON THEM. THE DOOR PANELS AS YOU CAN SEE ARE EXCELLENT TOO. THE DASH , GAUGES AND STEERING WHEEL ARE ALL LIKE NEW AND INDICATIVE OF THE LOW MILES. HEADLINER IS DELAMINATED AS EXPECTED. THE PLASTIC PANELS IN BACK ARE ALL VERY NICE TOO. NOTICE THE FACTORY 8 TRACK IN THE CONSOLE. HE SAID HIS FATHER PULLED THE TRANS MANY YEARS AGO FOR SOME REASON. THE TRANS IS IN THE TRUNK NOW. THE CAR SAT FOR SO LONG DUE TO HEALTH ISSUES FROM WAY BACK THAT EVENTUALLY LED TO HIS DEATH LAST MONTH. THE MOTOR TURNS OVER AND WILL NEED A FULL TUNE UP AS YOU WOULD EXPEXT.
NOT MUCH ELSE I CAN TELL YOU ABOUT THIS EXCEPT NOT MANY LEFT WITH THESE MILES AND CONDITION. A $1,000 NON REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT IS REQUIRED WITHIN 48 HOURS OF AN ACCEPTED OFFER.
THE CAR IS BEING SOLD A SIS AND HAS NO WARRANTY. CALL JOHN WITH ANY QUESTIONS AT 517-294-2602

Hurst Edition Trans Am proves the Screaming Chicken will rise from the ashes
Wed, 31 Oct 2012It seems the Pontiac Trans Am steadfastly refuses to die. Ever since Chevrolet was granted a retrofied Camaro to compete with the Ford Mustang, Pontiac lovers have lamented the loss of this 1970s icon. And, looking at the Hurst Edition from Trans Am Depot, shown here at the 2012 SEMA Show, may explain what all the fuss is about.
It's not going to appeal to everyone's muscle-car tastes, but there's certainly room for a brash-and-bold black-and-gold Special Edition in many a Trans Am lover's garage. After all, if you want the keys to a custom pony car, you'll certainly get noticed in this one. If this scheme isn't your bag,, you can alternatively order your Hurst Edition in white and gold or silver and black. Oh, and don't forget a color-coordinated Screaming Chicken on the hood.
No matter which way you choose to go, your inner Burt Reynolds will appreciate the Eibach suspension kit, forged wheels with Pirelli PZero tires, functional shaker hood, fender air extractors, rear spoiler and, of course, a Hurst shifter inside. The interior is emblazoned with all manner of special touches, including a Hurst dash plate and T/A stitching on the Katzkin two-tone leather seats.
1939 Pontiac Ghost Car commands $308,000 at auction
Mon, 01 Aug 2011For the 1939 World's Fair, Pontiac built a Deluxe Six bodied in Plexiglass. Part of the Previews of Progress pavilion in which General Motors' Futurama showed off what was to come in the world of autos, the 'invisible' Pontiac is credited as the first transparent car in America. And there were no shortcuts taken with its body: the Plexiglass form was fabricated by the company that brought the material to market in 1933, Rohm & Haas.
The see-through sedan was sold at RM Auctions' St. John's auction in Michigan on July 30, fetching $308,000. Not bad appreciation for a domestic oddity that cost $25,000 to build when new. You can check out the high-res gallery of its innards, including copper and chrome metalwork and white moldings and wheels, and get the exhaustive details on it after the jump.
General Lee takes on Bandit T/A in classic Hollywood car showdown [w/poll]
Fri, 26 Aug 2011You don't have to be born in the 1960s or 1970s to be able to recognize the General Lee from The Dukes of Hazzard and the Pontiac Trans Am from Smokey and the Bandit. These old school four-wheeled stars seem to transcend demographics thanks to the miles of film that show the orange 1969 Dodge Charger and the jet-black 1977 Pontiac Trans Am performing seemingly impossible stunts.
The folks at Hot Rod magazine are obviously hip to this fact, and they put together a fun video in tribute of the instantly recognizable duo. Hit the jump to watch on as Sam Young and James Smith replace Bo Duke and The Bandit for a bit of dirt-road shenanigans in a pair of otherwise well cared for classics. We're not so sure we'd call it the best chase scene ever, but it sure looks like a lot of fun.
More importantly, which of these two cars would you rather own? Have your say in our poll below.
