This vehicle was purchased new from the Pontiac dealership in Saginaw Michigan July 1969 according to the Pontiac new vehicle warranty the owner protection plan.  Sold to the second owner in October 1973. Engine code XC is original 350HO/325 HP matching the VIN number. Has the turbo 400 transmission and original "48" heads, original intake, and exhaust manifolds.

The carburetor and distributor are not original to this car. Has stock parchment interior and a beautiful dash cluster with radio, clock, and console.
Trim tag on cowl shows carousel red with parchment interior and painted white top. Also has the Pontiac trim inspectors lime green "T" ink stamp below cowl tag. I have the original keys and also a spare set. Also two of the headlights are T-3s.

According to the previous owner the engine was rebuilt back in the 90s and had not ran until now. Engine turns over freely. I did install new points and was able to get it to start however with no exhaust i let it run only a few seconds.  The power steering bracket is missing and the brake pedal goes to the floor and will also need hoses and belts hooked up to run the engine.

As far as the body it looks to be all original sheet-metal The heels of the fenders and the quarter panels have had some work done on them the doors are not too bad of shape The windshield frame is not rusted along with the rear sail panel around the back window which just has surface rust. The trunk has rust spot on the outside but the underside is nice.

Please ask any and all question before bidding.
I have additional pics i will text or email upon request.
Car had been sitting in a garage for years and has been cleaned up for resale.

Automakers tussle over owners of 'orphan' makes

Thu, 10 May 2012

When General Motors put down several of its brands in recent years, it also let loose thousands of brand-loyal customers who will eventually need another car.
R.L. Polk Associates estimates there are more than 18 million cars from 16 discontinued makes on the road today. Those "orphan owners" have sales-hungry competitors seeing dollar signs. GM is offering Saturn owners $1,000 cash toward a Chevy Cruze, Cadillac CTS or a GMC Acadia. Ford is giving its Mercury lease customers a chance to get out of their contracts with no early-termination penalty and offering to waive six remaining payments if they drive off in a Ford or Lincoln.
Edmunds.com research shows the efforts are paying off somewhat for GM, with 39 percent of Pontiac owners, 37 percent of Hummer owners and 31 percent of Saturn owners taking delivery of another GM-branded vehicle. But that leaves as much as 69 percent of owners going elsewhere. Ford, Honda and Toyota seem to be attracting many former GM owners.

This 1927 Oakland is a minimalist hot rod

Fri, 21 Feb 2014

There are hundreds of American automakers that sprung up during the dawn of the automotive era, only to fold into obscurity or get gobbled up by what would eventually become the Big Four (yes, we're counting AMC here). Oakland is one such company, which was the forbearer for General Motors' Pontiac division. Sold until 1931, you simply don't see Oakland-badged cars anymore. Unless, that is, you know Brian Bent.
Bent drives a 1927 Oakland that still rides on wooden wheels. Its original wooden wheels, from the sound of it. That makes this anachronist and his Oakland the perfect subject for a Petrolicious video. Like many of the cars highlighted by Petrolicious, this old Oakland has had some work done to it, featuring a Pontiac flathead engine that's been pushed forward and a clutch pack built by Bent.
Take a look below for a closer look at this rare and fascinating Oakland.

Watch this garbage truck consume a Pontiac Grand Am

Wed, 15 May 2013

When an old car or truck offers its dying breath in your driveway and you just don't have the financial or mechanical wherewithal to resuscitate it yet again, you traditionally have to go to the trouble of calling a flatbed or a tow truck to come haul it away. That usually helps to put a few bucks in your wallet and helps recycle some of the vehicle's parts, but the transaction doesn't seem as final or perversely satisfying as the dispatch service that this New Way Cobra Magnum garbage truck offers.
Okay, okay, so this refuse hauler isn't actually designed for this sort of thing, but it's oddly comforting to know that a sanitation truck can compact a hapless Pontiac Grand Am into oblivion. Next time, we won't feel so guilty about slipping that rusty charcoal grille onto the curb next to the cans on garbage day. Watch the carnage by scrolling below.
