Rare Original Collector's Car - 3329 Miles! on 2040-cars

Year:1987 Mileage:3329
Location:

San Jose, California, United States

San Jose, California, United States

Rare MINT ORIGINAL Fiero GT with just 3,329 miles! The car has been garaged and kept out of bad weather. This is a great opportunity for a collector or even those looking to make this a driver. Its original V6 engine offers good power and great fuel economy. As you can see from these up to date photos the car look beautiful and its original paint still shines like new.  I’d love to keep this vehicle but I’m moving and will no longer have the space to store it in the manner is deserves.  Additional pictures available here: http://1drv.ms/1fAjPSt

This car is titled in Washington State but was recently transported to California.  I have both the original and a reissued title as I thought I had lost the original with my move but later found it.  The car is being sold as is.  The known defect is one small ding on the hood which is shown in the emblem close up photo. Potential buyers may schedule a time to view the car but no test drives will be given as the extreme low miles are part of the car’s value.  Please ensure you have the necessary funds prior to bidding, most buyers are unable to finance cars manufactured this long ago.  Low or negative feedback buyers may be requested to submit a refundable deposit to maintain their bids.  If you need to have this car shipped, I’ll be happy to cooperate but the car will not be released until payment is verified.  Payment by cashier’s check from Chase, Bank of America, US Bank, or Wells Fargo is required.  I reserve the right to cancel the auction if the car is sold by other means before auction completion and to re-list the car if not paid in full within 7 days of auction close.

Lutz dishes dirt on GM in latest Autoline Detroit

Bob Lutz sits down for Autoline Detroit - Click above to watch video after the jump
Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
All Chevrolet vehicles were required to have five-spoke aluminum wheels and a chrome band up front, as part of the Bowtie brand's overall image.

This 1927 Oakland is a minimalist hot rod

Fri, 21 Feb 2014

There are hundreds of American automakers that sprung up during the dawn of the automotive era, only to fold into obscurity or get gobbled up by what would eventually become the Big Four (yes, we're counting AMC here). Oakland is one such company, which was the forbearer for General Motors' Pontiac division. Sold until 1931, you simply don't see Oakland-badged cars anymore. Unless, that is, you know Brian Bent.
Bent drives a 1927 Oakland that still rides on wooden wheels. Its original wooden wheels, from the sound of it. That makes this anachronist and his Oakland the perfect subject for a Petrolicious video. Like many of the cars highlighted by Petrolicious, this old Oakland has had some work done to it, featuring a Pontiac flathead engine that's been pushed forward and a clutch pack built by Bent.
Take a look below for a closer look at this rare and fascinating Oakland.

Automakers tussle over owners of 'orphan' makes

Thu, 10 May 2012

When General Motors put down several of its brands in recent years, it also let loose thousands of brand-loyal customers who will eventually need another car.
R.L. Polk Associates estimates there are more than 18 million cars from 16 discontinued makes on the road today. Those "orphan owners" have sales-hungry competitors seeing dollar signs. GM is offering Saturn owners $1,000 cash toward a Chevy Cruze, Cadillac CTS or a GMC Acadia. Ford is giving its Mercury lease customers a chance to get out of their contracts with no early-termination penalty and offering to waive six remaining payments if they drive off in a Ford or Lincoln.
Edmunds.com research shows the efforts are paying off somewhat for GM, with 39 percent of Pontiac owners, 37 percent of Hummer owners and 31 percent of Saturn owners taking delivery of another GM-branded vehicle. But that leaves as much as 69 percent of owners going elsewhere. Ford, Honda and Toyota seem to be attracting many former GM owners.
