I DO NOT SHOW CARS ON SUNDAY!!! Its my day off to worship, to spend time with family, I'm 66 years old and need a day of rest.

If you are not registered with ebay motors, I will work with you, "YOU CAN BUY DIRECT".

VIN    252878R120784              MILEAGE: 38396 reading and I'm sure you can add another 100,000

HISTORY

The car is from here in East Tennessee, it came to Tennessee from the flat cotton lands of Mississippi.

TITLE: Clear title in hand, it is from Tennessee and states that previous state of ownership was Mississippi.

IS THERE ANY RUST PROBLEMS?     The frame, the floors, the trunk all look good,  I think the floors are original as well as all the panels.

IS THERE ANY ACCIDENT DAMAGE? None that I can find.

WHY AM I SELLING THIS CAR? I’m a classic car restorer, but when I find a vehicle I like and can sell for a fair market price, I buy it fix a few things and resell.

PAINT: The paint is very good, no dents, no dings,  no cracks, no chips and the body is very straight  when you look down the sides.

IS THERE AND BONDO IN THE CAR? Probally has some filler, but I see seen no rusty hole or cracks in the paint. Have you ever seen a classic car with out any filler.

CHROME:      Very good chrome, it shines good and is not peeling. The only thing I see at all is a little ding in the back window stainless, its hard to get back on. The front bumper is nice, but has a faint dull spot at the top on the outer edge, not bad at all. The chrome and stainless would be considered very nice.

INTEROR:  The looks good, the seats show not wear, not bad smells in the car, the carpet is fine, some floor mats in the truck, the headliner very nice, no cracks in the dash, door panels good, the back package tray in rear window has minor stains.

UNSERSIDE: Nice, but not show deatailed and not covered up with thick under-coating, the frame is good, the body mounts good, the floor look original.

GLASS: The side windows roll up and down good, the windshield looks brand new.

SOUND SYSTEM: Original AM radio works.

ENGINE: The engine runs good, its 389 cubic inch.  It runs great, no blue smoke, no unwanted noises. Its a good engine.

EXHAUST SYSTEM:  Nice sounding exhaust system, it has the Muscle car sound. The Mufflers are by Flow Master

TRANSMISSION:

Turbo 400 that shifts good, this is a 3 speed automatic.

REAR-END: 10 bolt with no whines or growls.

BRAKES:

Drums all around that stop very good, they are power assited.

STEERING: The steering is good, the car is power steering.

WHEELS AND TIRES : Wheels and tires are 17 inch that don't rub, they are not brand new, but good, the wheels are American Racing.

LIGHTS and wiring: The head lights work, the tail lights work the brake lights work, the dome light works, the trunk light works and the turn signals work.

THE GAS GAUGE WORKS! SPEEDMETER WORKS! Horn works!  WIPERS ARE WORKING!

All the heater and air conditioning parts are in place, the fan motor is not working, I will try to check it out, but I have too many projects started.

.

GUAGES: They work.

HOW DO THE DOORS AND HOOD OPEN AND CLOSE? They open and close good.

PANEL FIT: I think very good.

TRUNK RUBBER LOOKS BAD, I will try to get a new piece before the listing ends.

TRADES: Please no trades, they never work out and are just too hard!

The rest of the information is boring unless you are really interested in buying the vehicle, its just buying details like shipping, paperwork, who I am, where the car is located and how to pay and contact information.

<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>>>>I DO NOT SHOW CAR ON SUNDAY>>>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

PAPERWORK: I know what to do! We are just a father/son 2 man operation, but we are a Tennessee licensed/bonded car dealer and have sold cars all over the US and exported many.

THIS IS NOT AN AUCTION, THIS IS A FIXED PRICE LISTING: I reserve the right to stop the listing at any time and sale the car “come look”.

I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO STOP THE LISTING AT ANY TIME. THE CAR IS FOR SALE ON THE LOCAL MARKET.

WHERE THE CAR IS LOCATED: The car is here at my garage in Athens, Tennessee. Athens is in east Tennessee, we are 50 miles south of Knoxville and 50 miles north of Chattanooga. Look at a Road Atlas and follow interstate 75 south from Knoxville. I live one mile and one turn from the interstate exit. My zip code is 37303. The closest large airport is Knoxville. Athens does have a good small airport, but has no commercial flights.

WHO YOU ARE BUYING FROM: My name is Ron Watson and I live in the small town of Athens, TennesseeAthens is called the friendly city”. We are located in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains in east Tennessee “I am truly qualified to be called a Hill Billy”. I am 66 years old and work with my son Keith who is now 41. I am now retired and living my dream restoring, selling and improving classic cars. For 12 years I was an auto mechanics instructor at Tennessee Technology Center here in Athens. I am also a veteran of the US Army; I served as a Chinook helicopter mechanic, crew chief and instructor in the late 60s, I did spend a year in Vietnam. I’m Southern Baptist faith and proud to be an American. I’ve been married to the same good woman for almost 42 years. LIFE IS GOOD IN THE GREEN HILLS OF EAST TENNESSEE!

US OR EXPORT “I like Nations Auto Transport. They are located in Kansas City.

Contact: Jim Page his office number is 816-295-6887 and his email is jpage@shipnat.com

MY AREA CODE FOR TRANSPORT: The area code for Athens, Tennessee is 37303. I live 1 mile off a major interstate (I-75) and 35 miles south of interstate 40, so transport is usually very fast.

PAYMENT: I require a $250 deposit for a Buy Now or to hold the car.

I will take paypal for the deposit, but not for full payment.

Option 1: Pay the old school way face to face.

Option 2: Pay by check, I will wait till the check clears, I have had

a fake bank certified check.

Option 3: The safest is to let our banks handle it, my bank is a

member of the US Federal Reserve, this is called wire

transfer. And its safe for both of us.

WILL I HOLD THE CAR UNTIL YOU GET HERE TO LOOK OR HAVE IT INSPECTED? Not without a $250 non-refundable deposit! I have held too many cars that people promise me they are going to buy and they never show up, their wife won’t let them buy it, they can’t get a loan or they just back out. Before you drive or fly a long distance you need to make sure the car is not sold. “The way I look at it is until you pay a deposit you’re just looking and dreaming”.

INSPECTIONS: Please come look and be happy. All inspections are required to be done before the end of the listing. I listed this car as I see it as a 66 year old car restorer, please come and judge it for your self. I judge the car to my standards, this may not be yours. Paid inspectors are unpredictable, you might get a good one, but some of them do not impress me at all,  they can make a good car sound bad on the report. They have to be very critical to cover their back sides and all their concerned about is getting paid. I understand how hard it is to buy a car without looking, but I think you should come look yourself. I don’t like paid inspectors, I like for the person that is buying to inspect for themselves. I think its fine to send a friend to inspect for you. To make it clear, don’t hit the buy now button and then inspect, come inspect first!

If you are not registered with ebay motors, I will work with you, "YOU CAN BUY DIRECT".

BOTTOM LINE: My firm price is $12,700 and I'm asking more on the local market. The game is not rocket science, ask a price and come down. It’s not fun to bargain over the cell phone all day long with people that live 2000 miles away and are not going to buy anyway. My firm price is the Buy Now price. I have sold every car I have ever tried to, so I’m not motivated to be bargained down.

WILL BE VERY HAPPY TO SELL YOU THE VEHICLE WITH-OUT AN INSPECTION; YOU JUST HAVE TO HAVE A LOT OF NERVE AND PLEASE DON’T BE A CRY BABY.

Read the ME section on the upper right hand part of the listing marked seller info.

Thank You,

Ron Watson cell: 423-506-8987 email: dreamcar@live.com

I am very careful about taking payment, I have had a fake certified check, it looked real and the buyer seemed real. I will take one, but I will check you out. I am ebay varified, that means you can buy ebays buyer protection plan and they will guarantee thats I'm real, they will not guarantee the car.

IS THERE A WARRANTY? No! Come inspect, judge and drive the vehicle all you want to because I do not offer a warranty on classic vehicles. Any descriptions or representations are for identification purposes only and are not to be construed as a warranty of any type, they are the way I see the vehicle. It is the responsibility of the buyer to have thoroughly inspected this vehicle and to have satisfied himself or herself as to the condition and value and to purchase based upon that judgment solely. This vehicle is being sold as is, where is with no warranty, expressed written or implied. The seller shall not be responsible for the correct description, authenticity, genuineness, or defects herein, and makes no warranty in connection therewith.

1969 Pontiac GTO Judge vs. 2006 GTO, which Goat gets your vote?

Mon, 08 Sep 2014

The Pontiac GTO was perhaps the most iconic muscle car of the '60s and early '70s. With its beefy V8 and color palette screaming for attention, it summarized in a single vehicle everything that made the era so appealing to many young people. Pontiac tried to collect just a few drops of that aura again in the 2000s with a revived GTO, but with decidedly mixed results. The performance was still there with its big V8, but the looks never quite lived up to the powertrain. Now, Generation Gap wants to know which of these Goats is the one to own.
Things are skewed immediately because the 2006 GTO here is a real ringer. It comes from famous tuner Ken Lingenfelter's collection, and it's a one-off example partially fettled by GM Performance boasting a twin-turbocharged LS2 V8 with a claimed 750 horsepower and a wide-body kit. This Goat definitely isn't what you're going to find just browsing for one to buy in the newspaper. Still, dip the throttle just a little, and this GTO pulls like a freight train. It's enough to turn the two hosts into giggling schoolboys behind the wheel.
The '69 GTO Judge here is also out of Lingenfelter's collection, but this one is all stock with a 400-cubic-inch (6.6-liter) V8 and a Ram Air hood for a claimed 366 hp. It might not have the unbelievable power of the turbo '06, but it makes up for it with style to spare.

General Lee takes on Bandit T/A in classic Hollywood car showdown [w/poll]

Fri, 26 Aug 2011

You don't have to be born in the 1960s or 1970s to be able to recognize the General Lee from The Dukes of Hazzard and the Pontiac Trans Am from Smokey and the Bandit. These old school four-wheeled stars seem to transcend demographics thanks to the miles of film that show the orange 1969 Dodge Charger and the jet-black 1977 Pontiac Trans Am performing seemingly impossible stunts.
The folks at Hot Rod magazine are obviously hip to this fact, and they put together a fun video in tribute of the instantly recognizable duo. Hit the jump to watch on as Sam Young and James Smith replace Bo Duke and The Bandit for a bit of dirt-road shenanigans in a pair of otherwise well cared for classics. We're not so sure we'd call it the best chase scene ever, but it sure looks like a lot of fun.
More importantly, which of these two cars would you rather own? Have your say in our poll below.

Trans Am Depot teases 2014 GTO

Mon, 24 Jun 2013

Here comes the Judge. Court is in session. The verdict is in. How many more tired clichés can we come up with? It hardly seems to matter, because it's happening: Trans Am Depot has announced via the teaser video below that it is launching a 2014 GTO, complete with Carousel Red (bright orange, really) paint and full Judge badging.
The car is based on Trans Am Depot's 6T9 Goat, which, in case you don't get the reverential references, is meant to mimic the look of the 1969 Pontiac GTO. As with the company's other cars -including the 2013 Hurst Edition Trans Am we recently drove - the GTO will be based on the current Chevy Camaro, which means two doors, V8 engines and rear-wheel drive, just like the muscle cars of days past.
As for actual details of what's under the 2014 GTO's hood, we're completely left hanging. We'd expect some sort of power adder (turbo, supercharger or possibly some other form of a highly massaged version of the Camaro's V8), and we certainly know that GM has any number of hi-po crate engines to choose from.
