1968 Pontiac Bonneville Coupe, Very nice rust free Western car originally from Washington State. Repainted in the original April Gold color with a new black vinyl top. The interior is all original and in very nice shape except for the front seat which was recently reupholstered due to a coupe of tears in the vinyl, and the headliner which is brand new as well. 400 cid V8 which runs great and it handles very nicely as well. Automatic transmission shifts perfectly with no issues, and new brakes installed a few years ago with very little use since then. The body was straight on this car but the paint was poor, so it received a new paint job as well after the old paint was removed. The car looks very nice and only needs finishing touches like new rubber around the windows and trunk, + the radio doesn't work. The engine compartment could also use some detailing, but again a little bit of elbow grease and you would bring this car to the next level. Tires are good and it's a pleasure to take this vehicle for a ride as it is very smooth. Options include power steering and brakes + air conditioning which would need a new compressor to work but is readily available online. After a little bit of research I found that only 23% of Pontiac's in 1968 were equipped with AC which makes it a cool accessory. Dash is perfect and panels are nice and as I mentioned this car is completely rust free as floors and trunk are super solid. Any questions feel free to call me on 702-250 1040 (Mountain Time) here in Idaho. This is also were the car is located and it is registered and has a clean Title in my name.

Official USPS Muscle Cars stamps coming to a mailbox near you

Thu, 21 Feb 2013

As much as our digital lives have cut down on our trips to the post office, there are still times that sending "snail mail" is necessary. With us car lovers in mind and philately in their hearts, the good folks at the United States Postal Service will introduce a new stamp design called "Muscle Cars" starting on February 22.
Designed by artist Tom Fritz, the new collection of stamps consist of five classic muscle cars: 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1966 Pontiac GTO and 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda. In addition to just the stamps, the USPS is also commemorating the new series with plenty of collectable memorabilia. Previous car-related stamps include 50s Sporty Cars from 2005 and 50s Fins and Chrome from 2008.

Pontiac Firebird in latest Generation Gap scrap

Tue, 30 Sep 2014

Generation Gap is mining the Lingenfelter collection again this week to compare two very different interpretations of the Pontiac Firebird. An original 1968 example goes toe-to-toe with a 2010 Lingenfelter Trans Am to see whether the old man or the modern re-imagining takes the crown.
Being from the Lingenfelter collection, both cars are absolutely immaculate. The '68 packs a Pontiac 350-cubic-inch (5.7-liter) V8 with a claimed 320 horsepower and some classic, muscular style with a hood-mounted tach. Plus, it's painted in an understated shade of green that you don't usually see.
In the other corner is Lingenfelter's pumped-up take on the classic shape based on the modern Camaro, and this is just one of six concept versions ever made. It wears an eye-catching, vintage-inspired livery of blue with a white stripe package. Under its shaker hood is a 455-cubic-inch (7.5-liter) V8 with a reported 655 hp and 610 pound-feet of torque.

Lutz dishes dirt on GM in latest Autoline Detroit

Bob Lutz sits down for Autoline Detroit - Click above to watch video after the jump
Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
All Chevrolet vehicles were required to have five-spoke aluminum wheels and a chrome band up front, as part of the Bowtie brand's overall image.
