1971 Plymouth Satelite Sebring on 2040-cars

Year:1971 Mileage:1721
Location:

I have owned this vehicle since 1995. I drove it for 2- 3 years while finishing high school. Since I bought it , dual exhaust with glass  pack mufflers was installed, new radiator, alternator, voltage regulator , brake shoes ,new white letter tires , and an aftermarket radio(which now is obsolete). The tires probably do not have even 2000 miles on them. Majority of the time (roughly 12 - 15 years) that it has been parked , it was and is stored in a garage. My dad and myself have occasionally started up the car just keep a check on the motor. All the chrome trim is with it including the side mirrors, etc. There is no major dents or dings, but a couple of rust issues. The front and back bumpers in good shape may need rechroming. All the tail and marker light bezels are in good shape.
The rust issues are as follows: (pictures included) There is an area of rust along where the vinyl top met the quarter panel on the drivers side. Sometime in the last year or so , there has been a rust pinhole develop on the upper third of bottom of fuel tank. The other spot is a strip at the top corner of driver's side of the windshield , where the glass sits in place (or windshield post). That is the only problem areas of rust that I know of. The carpet will definitely need changed where it leaked around the windshield area.
It has the actual turn signals  indicators on top of the fenders. Automatic on the column and bench seat. The speakers that were installed were put in the board behind the backseat and and back window , where they should have been placed..so there has been no extra cutting or chopping to fit aftermarket speakers on that area.

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.

'71 Plymouth Hemi Cuda Convertible sells for $3.5M [w/video]

Mon, 16 Jun 2014

We're plenty used to seeing classic cars selling for millions of dollars. It's just that they're usually European: Ferraris, Bugattis, Mercedes and the like. There are some rare American exceptions, usually wearing the names Duesenberg or Shelby. But what we have here is the most expensive Chrysler product ever sold at auction.
The vehicle in question is a Plymouth Barracuda - specifically a 1971 Hemi Cuda Convertible, chassis #BS27R1B315367 - that Mecum Auctions just sold after eight solid minutes of feverish bidding for a high bid of $3.5 million at its auction in Seattle, Washington. That figure positively eclipses the $2.2 million paid for a strikingly similar Hemi Cuda (chassis #BS27R1B269588) fetched nearly seven years ago in Scottsdale and another that was the first muscle car to break the million-dollar mark in 2002.

Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars

Sat, 18 Jan 2014

The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.
