For your immediate consideration is this very cool 1969 Plymouth Satellite. This Pavement Pounding Mopar is ready to dominate the Street and turn some heads while doing it. She is powered by a crate 402 CID Mopar Performance Products engine mated to a built 727 Torque-Flite automatic transmission. She puts the power to the pavement via a Dana 60 Rear with a Detroit Locker Posi-Differential and a 3.73:1 gear ratio. Keeping this motor cool no matter what the outside temperature, is the oversized BeCool Aluminum Radiator with dual Electric Fans. She emanates her vocal chords and exhales through Headers into 2.5 inch pipes and finally Dynomax Mufflers out the back. This Plymouth's motor boasts a Mopar M1 High Rise Aluminum Intake Manifold with a Holley Carburetor on top, a nice Lumpy Cam, all Billet Wide Pulleys & Brackets, an all New Ignition System, New 8mm Silicon Wires w/separators, Fresh Spark-Plugs, New Alternator, New Power Steering Pump and a New 700 CCA Battery. She stomps the pavement on Old School Deep COYS 5-Star Gun-Metal Aluminum Wheels 18" & 20" and Toyo PROXES4 P235/40ZR18 rubber up front and P255/35-ZR20 hydes out back. She is optioned with Power Disk Brakes on all 4-corners and stops without any drama or issues. Her sinister understated exterior is finished in awesome Frost Green base coat/clear paint and surrounds the awesome original two-tone Green Vinyl interior with a bench seat and column shifter which is sure to keep them guessing. All her Chrome, Bright Work and Glass look great for their age. She performs and drives as good as she looks and is now being offered to the true Mopar Guy or Gal who wants a real Street Machine to relive the past. The "Street Sleeper" was built to educate 'that' driver in the next lane the lessons of the asphalt and show them how it was done old-school. 'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.

'71 Plymouth Hemi Cuda Convertible sells for $3.5M [w/video]

Mon, 16 Jun 2014

We're plenty used to seeing classic cars selling for millions of dollars. It's just that they're usually European: Ferraris, Bugattis, Mercedes and the like. There are some rare American exceptions, usually wearing the names Duesenberg or Shelby. But what we have here is the most expensive Chrysler product ever sold at auction.
The vehicle in question is a Plymouth Barracuda - specifically a 1971 Hemi Cuda Convertible, chassis #BS27R1B315367 - that Mecum Auctions just sold after eight solid minutes of feverish bidding for a high bid of $3.5 million at its auction in Seattle, Washington. That figure positively eclipses the $2.2 million paid for a strikingly similar Hemi Cuda (chassis #BS27R1B269588) fetched nearly seven years ago in Scottsdale and another that was the first muscle car to break the million-dollar mark in 2002.

US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.
