1971 plymouth roadrunner, just finishing a restoration, restored as a driver show car, i bought this car about a year ago, all i know about the car is restoration was started about 20 years ago, but then the owner passed away, car sat for a number of years then it was sold to the guy i bought it from, he owned it for about 2 years if i remember right, car came out of montana, i bought it mainly cause is was a very solid rust free car, has original quarters, trunk lid, doors, hood, fenders were off of another car, it came complete with many extra parts, i but the best of everything i had for the car

orginally this was a 383 car but now has a 73 HP 440, completely rebuilt with about 100 miles on the engine, transmission has about the same, the previous owner had all of this done so i cannot confirm any of it only going off of what i was told

car was repainted back to its original orange color

interior is a custom job that was done when i bought the car, custom door panels, dash is nice and not cracked, currently the gas gauge is not working and the oil pressure gauge i am going to put in a new sending unit to see if i can fix them both

floors were perfect with no rust, trunk floor has some rust on the passenger side but it was replaced, rh lower quarter has a patch panel put in the lower part behind the rear tire but it was a small repair panel, there is no rust on the car anywhere, frame rails are solid and were never rusted

tires are new, windshield is new, back glass was removed and resealed, all new decals, car originally had a vinyl top but i did not like it so i removed it, added the front and rear spoiler
just had it aligned, new exhaust, i still need to have the exhaust tips installed, i will have that done first part of this week, trunk lock

brakes are all new manual drum brakes

paint is nice driver quality it has been sanded and buffed to a nice smooth shine, the car really needed to be blocked out one more time before painting so there are some area's of the paint that are not perfect

weatherstrip is all new

here is a list of what i have to do to the car and will have them done by end of the week, door sill plates, turn signal indicators in the hood, hook up rear speakers to radio, hood up antenna, fix oil pressure and gas gauge, seat belts need installed

all lights and turn signals work

will post more pictures tomorrow these do not do the car justice need some sunshine, today was dark and gloomy

can convert to a 4 speed for $3500 on top of purchase price! that would include all parts and labor

US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.

Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars

Sat, 18 Jan 2014

The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.
