1969 Plymouth Road Runner! Real deal with the RM code! 440 big block 4 speed 8 3/4 sure grip rear end with 323 gears. Less than 1000 miles on rebuilt 440, transmission, and rear end! Complete restoration from top to bottom, all chrome and wiring has been redone. Everything works on the car including the air grabber hood. Originally a 383 big block now has a 440 out of a 1970 GTX, 4 speed trans is matching number along with the rear end. Green with flat black hood stripes, trunk painted green as it was from the factory, blower fan works like new, road runner Beep Beep horn, car has been changed to Mopar electronic ignition, glass looks new, all keys lock and unlock the doors and trunk as they should, all lights, speedometer, and gauges function including the tachometer(Year One reproduction). Car is always kept in the garage or gently driven down the street to the car show. This one is turn key and ready to go, needs nothing! 2 sets of keys, aftermarket oil PSI gauge professionally mounted, new BF Goodrich radial T/A tires, coyote duster decal on the air cleaner, brand new professionally done 3M black pin stripes, Plymouth Rapid Transit System and Mr. Norm's Sport Club decals in rear windows, and correctly placed road runner decals on the trunk and the doors. Aftermarket MSD ignition mounted under the battery(wanted to keep the original look), Dyno Max mufflers, Edelbrock 800 CFM carb., Hurst shifter with wood grain shift knob w/shift pattern on top. Huge file of all the invoices from the years of restoration, everything was kept and or documented. Car always starts right up after sitting for a while, always starts right up on a hot day after engine is all the way up to temp. Adult owned and driven, no hard driving or abuse. No problems with this one! Very nice old Mopar, you will not bet let down if you come and take a look. Turns heads all day long when you are behind the wheel. Clear Colorado title in hand. The ONLY trade that I would be interested in would be a 1971 or 1972 big block Road Runner in the same condition as this one, or a Hemi powered Mopar. No other trades will even be considered. Please call with any questions, no texts or emails. Scott 303 359 1317

SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own

Wed, 19 Dec 2012

Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.

Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars

Sat, 18 Jan 2014

The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.

US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.
