Up for sale is a 1969 GTX Hardtop from Tennessee Project Car..................... The car comes with a ton of parts, was a drag car and the body, rockers, undercarriage and sub frame are rust free  and in extremely nice shape. I believe this car was most likely a 6 pack car because it has the 9.25 inch Dana rear end housing.......................... I also have a 'period correct' 440 numbers matching engine and transmission.................... The #'s prefix on the block is E 440 6  5  2 and the block casting # is 2536430  6......................... The head castings are 2843906 and the trans is 8E144178............................. The stamping on the core support is A9I9922  6, the dash vin is RS23L9aI99226............................................ I also have the vin tag from the firewall which matches the car.  The #'s are 15130 199611 9A199226 / 917 644 093 / 26 /1X 6W / T5  T5  P6X  X9  /  V21  / RS23  E86  D32  C30  317650......................................... According to my research in 2005, everything matches up but the block is approx. 3 Months newer than the car so it may or may not have been the original. ...................................... There are people that will verify all this for a cost. .................................. This is a nice period correct restorable car with most of the correct parts............................. These entry level project muscle cars are disappearing from the landscape and soon will be way out of reach for the average guy to restore........................................ The pro's and 'rich guys' are killing the market. .............................. My reserve is low enough so that a person could buy this car, stick 3000.00 a year into it for five years and some elbow grease and most likely triple your money for the cost of a ciggarette smoking habit !!!!!...................................................................... In a few years you won't see any more cars like this attainable for the average Joe..................................... I'm 62 years old and have done 6 major resto's on cars and 4 Antique Boats in my lifetime all taking me approx. 4 to 6 years each and raised 5 kids in the mean time. ................. I know the whole drill.......................... This car was going to be a 'Father Son' project when I retire which is not happening any time soon........................ I have other personal intrests at the present time. .................................. One of them is a 20 Foot Antique V-Drive Boat with a Blown 572 Cu. In. BBC that I just did a 5 year resto on, so It's not that I'm slowing down THAT Much, just thinning the herd......................................... If you have any questions or want me to take some more Specific Pictures, call my cell Bill .....................989-980-3618.................... The car is in Saginaw Michigan ........................ Pick Up only .................... not interested in shipping all the parts that come with the car. 500 dollars non-refundable deposit at auction close via pay pal and cash on pick up...............................I WOULD CONSIDER trading up for a running corvette 1957 thru 1967 and could fly out to look at any possible trades and would have no problem adding Cash for the right car............................. I would do a buy it now through E-Bay for the value of my car. Happy Bidding .................................. Thanks for your Consideration !!!!!!

US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.

'71 Plymouth Hemi Cuda Convertible sells for $3.5M [w/video]

Mon, 16 Jun 2014

We're plenty used to seeing classic cars selling for millions of dollars. It's just that they're usually European: Ferraris, Bugattis, Mercedes and the like. There are some rare American exceptions, usually wearing the names Duesenberg or Shelby. But what we have here is the most expensive Chrysler product ever sold at auction.
The vehicle in question is a Plymouth Barracuda - specifically a 1971 Hemi Cuda Convertible, chassis #BS27R1B315367 - that Mecum Auctions just sold after eight solid minutes of feverish bidding for a high bid of $3.5 million at its auction in Seattle, Washington. That figure positively eclipses the $2.2 million paid for a strikingly similar Hemi Cuda (chassis #BS27R1B269588) fetched nearly seven years ago in Scottsdale and another that was the first muscle car to break the million-dollar mark in 2002.
