I am selling this 1969 GTX for a buddy of mine. This is not a clone, it is an original 69 GTX. It retains its original fender tag and build sheet. It is a 440, 4spd, Air Grabber, Dana rear car. It has a correct but non matching 1969 440HP that was rebuilt 3 years ago but only has approx. 1000 miles on the rebuild. Mileage on car is under 80,000 It is an older restoration that has held up well due to year round inside storage and being well cared for. He has owned the car for 30 years and the only reason he is selling it is to buy a Hemi car. Options include AM 8 track player (works), bucket seats with console (console has damage), has postage stamp tach (not working), T5 Copper metallic original color, Air Grabber hood, new clutch, new brakes new suspension and bushings front and rear all within the last thousand miles. Correct number radiator and Carburetor, correct HP exhaust manifolds, tips, Magnum 500 rims. Trac Pac car, 3.54 Dana, manual brakes, manual steering. Not a trailer queen, this car is driven weekends to local cruise nites in the summer. I have driven this car several times and it is a BLAST !!!  If you want a respectable looking 69 GTX that can be driven and enjoyed right now, here it is.

This car must be picked up by the purchaser at their own cost with transportation arrangements being made by the purchaser also. Delivery on an open trailer for a reasonable price MAY be an option if not too far. The car is located in Sherburne, NY 13460 if you would like to look the location up on Mapquest. Feel free to e-mail or call with any questions. 607-226-2883 or 516-644-0319. Thanks.

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.

'71 Plymouth Hemi Cuda Convertible sells for $3.5M [w/video]

Mon, 16 Jun 2014

We're plenty used to seeing classic cars selling for millions of dollars. It's just that they're usually European: Ferraris, Bugattis, Mercedes and the like. There are some rare American exceptions, usually wearing the names Duesenberg or Shelby. But what we have here is the most expensive Chrysler product ever sold at auction.
The vehicle in question is a Plymouth Barracuda - specifically a 1971 Hemi Cuda Convertible, chassis #BS27R1B315367 - that Mecum Auctions just sold after eight solid minutes of feverish bidding for a high bid of $3.5 million at its auction in Seattle, Washington. That figure positively eclipses the $2.2 million paid for a strikingly similar Hemi Cuda (chassis #BS27R1B269588) fetched nearly seven years ago in Scottsdale and another that was the first muscle car to break the million-dollar mark in 2002.

SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own

Wed, 19 Dec 2012

Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.
