ORIGINAL MATCHING NUMBER & MINIMAL RUST CONDITION CAR SEEKER WANTED (in other words: don't compare this one with others in this Ebay market @ possible lower price; U get what you pay for; this car has 100,000 miles to go w/o restoring)!

Original matching numbers 273 cubic inch V8. Automatic center console shift with bucket seats. *Factory air conditioning (& works). Power steering, brakes, & top. Dash tach(works). Everything works. Starts & runs decently needing usual basic tune up (plugs/wires mostly; electronic ignition added & seems to be correctly functioning). There is no oil burning smoke or overheating. The automatic transmission is working properly with no incorrect shifting sequences & has proper/expected band tightness (no slipping/clunking). To the best knowledge of the previous owner, it is the "original" odometer mileage (52,763). Her husband validated it when he purchased it & it looks it based upon minimal rust, pedals, original carpet/seats, etc.

Last owners were senior citizens & had since 1997; always garaged. .

All floor pans are original & NO rust, same with doors, inner rockers, inner quarters, inner wheel wells, frame, trunk & wheel well partitions. Minor rust on one 3 inch rocker area & 2 to 3 more 2 inch areas (pictures available). Some time scratches, maybe 2 dings. I used a weak magnet (weak magnet used on purpose so if it sticks, good indicator -good metal) on all areas that old car people know might have bondo. It clung to everywhere especially all door usual places. All fender wells solid; magnet tested everywhere. NO RUST in trunk (a trunk picture with the spare removed will be posted later, or I can send one at request). I think the painted burgandy color is the original color (code:N6W or NGW-correction pending fender code being sanded to claritify numbers/letters). The paint job looks like it could be buffed to shine nicely (with a motorized buffing procedure/professional).

Rare, or at least preferred: buckets, center console auto shift, factory A/C ( *Note: aftermarket non-original add-on A/C costs about $2000+parts & labor; you hope installers do it right without messing something else up under the dash; any classic car or truck is always worth more with factory air, even if it is not working; so actually this cuda is only costing $13k for ownership, then add factory A/C value of $3k+; $16k car for only $15k-that price is FIRM as in "F-I-R-M" ).

The seats & over-all interior is very well preserved including the dash. No cracks in steering wheel or dash pad. Driver's bucket has a small (1inch) seperation at the top corner, so the owner bought new front seats recover kit (new-in box). No need to recover anytime soon- see the pictures. Top material in great shape (no holes) with a glass window. The power top works flawlessly, although the original toggle switch is a bit finicky. The top boot is like new & all snaps are good. All the glass is perfect with slight factory tinting.

'71 Plymouth Hemi Cuda Convertible sells for $3.5M [w/video]

We're plenty used to seeing classic cars selling for millions of dollars. It's just that they're usually European: Ferraris, Bugattis, Mercedes and the like. There are some rare American exceptions, usually wearing the names Duesenberg or Shelby. But what we have here is the most expensive Chrysler product ever sold at auction.
The vehicle in question is a Plymouth Barracuda - specifically a 1971 Hemi Cuda Convertible, chassis #BS27R1B315367 - that Mecum Auctions just sold after eight solid minutes of feverish bidding for a high bid of $3.5 million at its auction in Seattle, Washington. That figure positively eclipses the $2.2 million paid for a strikingly similar Hemi Cuda (chassis #BS27R1B269588) fetched nearly seven years ago in Scottsdale and another that was the first muscle car to break the million-dollar mark in 2002.

SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own

Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.

US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books

The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.
