I am selling my 1966 Plymouth Barracuda I bought as a project car. I now have two other projects that I am trying to finish this summer and do not want to even think about another one at this time. This car has been sitting on non-op DMV status inside my grandfather's barn for two years with a car cover on it and uncovered about every month and cleaned and started and drove around in a country setting to keep everything at least running decent.

The car has a 318 in it that runs fine, but could use some spark plugs and spark plug wires to make it run smoother. Never had any issues with it and it sounds awesome with duel exhaust dumping out just before the rear end. Edelbrock Performer 318 intake, Edelbrock 600 cfm electric choke carburetor, standard ignition and distributor, manually controlled electric fan. Automatic transmission, that works fine, shifts through all the gears, has a B&M floor shifter. The Body has a couple small dents on the trunk, hood, and both front fenders, doors open and close fine, all glass is there and not damaged. The interior needs a headliner, the front seats should be re-upholstered and the back seat is driver quality. Black carpet is in the car right now but should be replaced. Headlights work and blinkers and brake lights work also. The car has power front disc brakes.

Now the bad- The steering column in the car is not exactly good. But works to drive down the road, the front end is pretty loose driving down the road too, not sure if it's because of the front end or the column. The car has working power steering though. The paint is fading pretty bad and the car should be re-painted, but there is no major rust on any fenders or any quarterpanels, frame rails are good trunk is good, haven't looked under the carpet, but should be fine if the rest of the car is any indication.

I have accumulated some parts for the car, but now they will go with the car if it is sold. The list follows:
1-year correct complete center console
1-Hurst floor shifter for Chrysler automatic transmissions (I was going to install it in the stock console but might need mods to do so)
1-complete front-end rebuild kit
1-1966 plymouth barracuda steering column for floor shift applications
1-1966 plymouth floor shift steering column not sure of the car it came out of. (Forgot what car the seller told me it was originally out of)
1-set OBX small block block-hugger headers
1-power brake booster and master cylinder
1-new black headliner
1-new black carpet kit
1-pair driver/passenger black door panels
Also included-extra center grille section, and one driver quality barracuda grille emblem no broken or cracked studs.

I also have two dash gauge clusters with gauges that should all work. Was going to piece together one good dashboard with the best of both dashboards. Right now it has Sport Comp gauges that are cut into a piece of metal screwed to the dash.

The oil pressure, water temp, and amp meter work, right now that's it.

'71 Plymouth Hemi Cuda Convertible sells for $3.5M [w/video]

Mon, 16 Jun 2014

We're plenty used to seeing classic cars selling for millions of dollars. It's just that they're usually European: Ferraris, Bugattis, Mercedes and the like. There are some rare American exceptions, usually wearing the names Duesenberg or Shelby. But what we have here is the most expensive Chrysler product ever sold at auction.
The vehicle in question is a Plymouth Barracuda - specifically a 1971 Hemi Cuda Convertible, chassis #BS27R1B315367 - that Mecum Auctions just sold after eight solid minutes of feverish bidding for a high bid of $3.5 million at its auction in Seattle, Washington. That figure positively eclipses the $2.2 million paid for a strikingly similar Hemi Cuda (chassis #BS27R1B269588) fetched nearly seven years ago in Scottsdale and another that was the first muscle car to break the million-dollar mark in 2002.

Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars

Sat, 18 Jan 2014

The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.
