Up for sale is my personal 1950 Oldsmobile 88 2 door sedan. I will try and make this as informative as possible, without trying to ramble on.

First off if you have been looking for an origional, rust free 50 Oldsmobile your done looking. You will NOT find another Oldsmobile like this, possibly ever, again. This car has 19,835 origional miles! (Yes you read that right)
Hear is the short and sweet story. I bought the car in 2008 from the son of the 2nd owner. (First owner died shortly after buying it, Second owner bought it from the widow in the 50's. He drove it almost, never. Parked it in a building in the mid 60's. The second owner died in the 80's and it sat until I bought it.) It was verified by the 2nd owners son that it is in fact the origional miles as his dad never drove it. After you look at it you'll also be convinced that this is not a hoax.
I own a restoration/hot rod shop and purchased it for my personal vehicle, never intending to sell it. However, I currently am in the progress of building 2 custom cars for myself and because I never drive it and it never left the storage building  last year, I felt it was time to free up some cash and let someone else be her caretaker now. It has had only the best care while i owned it and everything I did was in an attempt to leave it as origional as possible or professional repair any item that it needed. Items that I have done since owning it are as follows: New dual exhaust with "smithy" mufflers, wheel cylinders and brake shoes, master cylinder, carb. kit, fuel filter, oil and filter changes, fan belts, antifreeze flush, diamond back wide white radial tires, bulbs as needed. I have put on approximatly 1000 miles since owning it since 2008. It drives great! I will give it an oil change and new battery before it's sold. The battery is working ok but it's an 08 and I feel that it's time for a new one. This was not an easy decision for me to let this old car go, I think my wife it more attached than i am and thats saying alot.
This car will go where ever you want to go, It drives and runs great. I do feel alittle guilty driving it though as they are only origional once. My dream would be that she would go to a museum so that everyone (including myself) could enjoy it's originality. But once it's gone, its gone and I have no more power over it's outcome. Pictures don't do this car justice and anyone is welcome to come and look at it. I will not let anyone but the next owner drive it though, so don't ask.
The only bad parts on the car that i can say it the following: A 6-8" crack in the windshield, it was like that when i bought it and hasn't gotten any worse. NO rust except for on the LH fender skirt (See picture). A few small dents, dings and chips. As far as I can tell it's all the origional paint and it still shines very well. It's never been repainted and for being 63 years old is looks pretty darn good.
We also have, what we believe is the origional tires that came on the car when it was new. They still held air, and I will give them to the new owner if they want them. They make a great conversation piece. The interior seats had clear vinal protectors (that will also be included) and we removed them the seat upholstery is perfect! the foam is still soft and the cloth is still flexible. No indication of mice EVER, no holes in the fabric or chewing on wiring. The cloth wiring is still in remarkable condition. IT's NOT rotten or fraying. Yuo can tell that this car was under cover, out of the sunlight for years. This thing is a time capsule that wont require any work unless YOU want to. It still has the origional speckle floor mat, NOT a replacement black rubber one.
This is not a car "flip", It is my personal car. It will be sold at a very reasonable price considering what some of the others on here are asking for theirs with a ton more miles than this one. I have no doubt that it will sell at the price I'm asking, don't wait bid now. Like I said when it's gone, it's gone and I will miss it and you wont get another chance. Your more than welcome to call and talk to me about it IF your truly serious about owning it. MY phone number is my shop number and I'm always very busy. If you calling to just talk cars DONT, I do that all day, already. I will be happy talk to the next potential owner though. 319-527-7637 If your close enough I will show it to you if you like (providing it's not raining, which it seem to be doing alot of lately) Again NO test drives, buy it and you can drive it when ever you want. Sorry for the pictures, I took them last evening after working and it was raining (again) so I had it in my showroom. I'll post any other pictures that you may want just let me know.

500 deposit with in 24 hours by pay pal, the balance is due BEFORE the transport shows up. Title is ready it go and the plates are up to date. Good luck and I hope it goes to a great future home.

GM recalling 8.4M cars, 8.2M related to ignition problems

Mon, 30 Jun 2014

General Motors today announced a truly massive recall covering some 8.4 million vehicles in North America. Most significantly, 8.2 million examples of the affected vehicles are being called back due to "unintended ignition key rotation," though GM spokesperson Alan Adler tells Autoblog that this issue is not like the infamous Chevy Cobalt ignition switch fiasco.
For the sake of perspective, translated to US population, this total recall figure would equal a car for each resident of New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Montana, Delaware, South Dakota, Alaska, North Dakota, the District of Columbia, Vermont and Wyoming. Combined. Here's how it all breaks down:
7,610,862 vehicles in North America being recalled for unintended ignition key rotation. 6,805,679 are in the United States.

eBay Find of the Day: 1976 GMC Motorhome is a jolly green giant

Wed, 18 Jun 2014

If you have a need to relive the 1970s, then here is the vehicle for you. This groovy blast from the past is a 1976 GMC Motorhome currently for auction in Florida on eBay Motors, and it is one green machine - just not in the modern sense.
The seller claims that this beast has had just two owners and has covered a mere 61,308 miles in its decades on the road. It's reportedly never been restored or repainted and comes with all of the necessary books and manuals. A 7.5-liter (455-cubic-inch) Oldsmobile V8 with a three-speed Turbo-Hydramatic automatic transmission powering the front wheels propels this far-out RV, and the double set of rear wheels out back use a self-leveling air suspension to provide a cushy ride.
The purported low miles and good condition really make this GMC a stand out, though. The exterior combination of lime stripes and beige with just a touch of green is like nothing else on the road today. Plus, the polished bumpers and wheels make it all pop. Inside, it's even better with monochromatic green upholstery and shag carpet. It features everything you'd ever need on a long trip, including a bathroom, kitchenette and lots of seating. The only hint of modernization is an HD TV next to the stove, but its size is a perfect fit for the hole there.

Ferrari FF pitted against Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser in crazy Generation Gap comparison

Thu, 13 Nov 2014

The folks behind Generation Gap have lost their minds with this latest video. The goal here is to determine the ultimate family cruiser, but the choices are what you would least expect, with a heavily modded 1970 Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser going up against a 2012 Ferrari FF.
You might anticipate an over-40-year-old Oldsmobile to pale in comparison to any modern Ferrari, but this wagon has a ton of secrets under its skin thanks to Lingenfelter. First, it packs a supercharged LS3 V8 with a claimed 650 horsepower and a six-speed manual gearbox. That big upgrade in power is further helped with air suspension and massive Wilwood disc brakes. The result is nothing short of deafening, with blaring yelps whenever the driver even nudges the accelerator.
The alternative sounds just as good, albeit in very different way. The Ferrari's 6.3-liter V12 pumps out 651 hp and 504 pound-feet with a part-time all-wheel drive system. While the FF lacks a lot of the hauling ability of the Olds, it makes up for the deficit in handling, luxury, and in many eyes, simply by having the famous prancing horse on the grille.
