For Auction a 1979 Oldsmobile Cutlass Hurst/Olds. Car is a project, it runs and drives but is in need of a fair bit of tlc to get it in shape to drive regularly, and a bit more to consider it car show worthy. Car sat for around 15 years before i got it, i had it registered for a summer as i drove it a short distance to work in order to work out kinks one at a time, but I have too many projects and this one will sit a while before it is a priority, so im listing it to see if someone has more interest in her than I do.

Has:
-Fresh tune up:plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter, and oil change
-New front brakes, pads and rotors
-New brake master cylinder and front brake lines
-Once warm it runs and shifts well

Needs
-Rear brake work, the line to the rear brakes blew out, i temporarily plugged it at the distribution block
-Fuel pump and fuel line. the fuel line started leaking, i put a rubber hose on from the brake to the pump, bit it leaves a few drips when the cars not running so it should be replaces all the way   to the tank, i suspect the fuel pump may be weak bc it takes a while to prime, the car will run, so it may just be b/c of the line, but it could also be in part to the pump
-Drivers side floor pan
-Interior work: Sunroof leaks and doesn't currently work. Needs carpets, headliner, and front seats need recovering
-Starter solenoid stick, so that or the whole starter is in need of replacement
-Needs tires
-Needs rear bumper and trunk lid, there is rust on the frame near where the bumper mounts, but other than that the frame is in pretty good shape.
-Paint, body is straight and clean, no holes, but will need repainting to look show quality.

I've tried to list out everything i can tell that the car needs but i haven't pit as much time as intended into it which is why i am listing it. It is safe to assume i have not been able to list everything the car needs, but i have listed everything I know of to the extent of my knowledge. If there are any questions you have let me know and i will get back to you asap. Thanks for looking

On Oct-25-13 at 01:42:10 PDT, seller added the following information:

* I apologize but there are a few things i forgot to list that i was reminded of as i moved the car around yesterday. If you have bid on this item and any of these items are a game changer, please notify me and i will cooperate in canceling you bid, i did not omit these details maliciously, i had just forgotten them given the lack of attention iv'e given it over recent months.

-The car is sold by bill of sale, in Connecticut where i am a title is not issued for vehicles registered from 1981 and older, but it dawned on me that may not be the case for all states. I did    have the vehicle undergo a VIN verification, which confirmed the title as clear and assigned me as the legal owner
-Windshield has a crack in the upper right hand corner, so it will need replacement
-The drivers exterior door handle is broken, i've been leaving the window down and opening it with the interior handle. Its about 15$ online and 25 in a retail parts store
-The antenna is missing

I sincerely apologize for my mistake and if you have any further questions i will respond asap

Ferrari FF pitted against Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser in crazy Generation Gap comparison

Thu, 13 Nov 2014

The folks behind Generation Gap have lost their minds with this latest video. The goal here is to determine the ultimate family cruiser, but the choices are what you would least expect, with a heavily modded 1970 Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser going up against a 2012 Ferrari FF.
You might anticipate an over-40-year-old Oldsmobile to pale in comparison to any modern Ferrari, but this wagon has a ton of secrets under its skin thanks to Lingenfelter. First, it packs a supercharged LS3 V8 with a claimed 650 horsepower and a six-speed manual gearbox. That big upgrade in power is further helped with air suspension and massive Wilwood disc brakes. The result is nothing short of deafening, with blaring yelps whenever the driver even nudges the accelerator.
The alternative sounds just as good, albeit in very different way. The Ferrari's 6.3-liter V12 pumps out 651 hp and 504 pound-feet with a part-time all-wheel drive system. While the FF lacks a lot of the hauling ability of the Olds, it makes up for the deficit in handling, luxury, and in many eyes, simply by having the famous prancing horse on the grille.

GM recalling 8.4M cars, 8.2M related to ignition problems

Mon, 30 Jun 2014

General Motors today announced a truly massive recall covering some 8.4 million vehicles in North America. Most significantly, 8.2 million examples of the affected vehicles are being called back due to "unintended ignition key rotation," though GM spokesperson Alan Adler tells Autoblog that this issue is not like the infamous Chevy Cobalt ignition switch fiasco.
For the sake of perspective, translated to US population, this total recall figure would equal a car for each resident of New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Montana, Delaware, South Dakota, Alaska, North Dakota, the District of Columbia, Vermont and Wyoming. Combined. Here's how it all breaks down:
7,610,862 vehicles in North America being recalled for unintended ignition key rotation. 6,805,679 are in the United States.

Jay Leno bangs up his own Toronado in GT6

Wed, 11 Dec 2013

Ever since Gran Turismo 4, Jay Leno has had at least one of his cars included in the popular racing simulator (starting with the Tank Car), and more of his machines appears in Gran Turismo 6. They include this nose-heavy, front-wheel-drive V8-powered muscle car. Yes, that aptly describes a 1966 Oldsmobile Toronado - except Leno's is rear-wheel drive. And it has a Cadillac CTS-V race engine modified to pump out 1,070 horsepower.
For the latest Jay Leno's Garage episode, he takes his real Toronado out for a cruise and then drives the virtual one like he stole it, accruing some body damage along the way. Leno also drives the virtual supercar Mercedes-Benz designed for GT6, the AMG Vision Gran Turismo Concept that debuted at the LA Auto Show, along with the real one, which is a 1:1-scale model. The model is radio-controlled and equipped with a small electric motor, sufficient to move it on and off of auto show floors.
Head below to watch the episode, which includes a few words from GT6 creator Kazunori Yamauchi.
