Here is an absolutely STUNNING car!  This is a factory limited production 1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass Rallye 350 in Sebring Yellow (only color these cars came in)!  What is absolutely astounding about this car is that it is an ORIGINAL UN-RESTORED SURVIVOR!  This Olds has its original paint, sheet metal, stripes, drive train and interior!  It has NEVER been restored!  It is absolutely amazing to me that a car can be kept this nice for so long!  It has 76,000 original miles, but could easily pass for 15,000 or 20,000!  I see 2 year old cars that do not look this good!

This amazing car has never been wrecked or rusted and is super clean original underneath just like on top.  Engine compartment and trunk are also immaculate and original.  This Olds won best of show at Olds Nationals in Columbus, Ohio out of over 500 other Olds show cars.  Clearly, this is one of the best of the best available.  I have been collecting old cars for 35 years and this is one of the best original un-restored survivor cars I have ever seen.  Paint, body, interior, etc are all immaculate!  Car was driven on an over 500 mile trip last year with no issues whatever.  Performs flawlessly and still even smells new inside!

The Rallye 350 was Oldsmobile's answer to high insurance prices for baby boomers just coming of age, and was meant to compete with the Road Runner, Torino GT, Dodge Super Bee, and Pontiac GT37.  Olds engineers took a Cutlass, plus a 350 4bbl high compression engine, gave it 442 performance and handling attributes, called it a Rallye 350, and flew under the insurance companies' radar!  These rare cars were only produced from February to April of 1970, and only in the special color of Sebring Yellow.  Even the bumpers were color coated!  Only a little more than 2000 of this body style were built; not many survived after being owned by eager youngsters!

This Rallye has the following equipment:

1.  Standard 350 high compression 4bbl engine with ram induction and 442 heads (original numbers matching)

2.  Automatic Transmission.

3.  PS & PB

4,  Deluxe AM Radio with rear speaker

5.  Optional rear deck spoiler

6.  Air Conditioning (still works)

7.  Bench seat

8.  Olds Super Stock 2 Wheels with correct trim-ring delete.

9.  Oldsmobile embossed factory floor mats.

10.  All paperwork such as window sticker, delivery paperwork, protecto-plate, manuals etc.

Don't miss this opportunity to own this museum grade collector muscle car, one of the nicest originals I have seen!

ABOUT ME: I am a long time (35 years) hobbyist and collector of nice original "Survivor" cars. I have been in the same locoation for over 25 years and collect, trade, and fool with nice original cars from the late 1950s to mid 1980s. I keep a "rotating collection" of 6 to 8 such cars. When new arrivals appear, I will sell some to make room. This is the case here.

Now for the rules:

1. Your bid is a contract! If you are the successful bidder, you are expected to pay! Please have all contingencies handled and your money in place BEFORE you bid! No retractions will be allowed, so be sure BEFORE you bid!

2. $3500 NON REFUNDABLE partial payment is due within 48 hours of end of auction. This can be by bank wire transfer. Pay Pal is NOT acceptable for this. Balance is due within 7 days of auction's conclusion. This can be by bank wire transfer as well, and is the preferred payment method with all the fraudulent checks and money orders out there.

3. Please note that I am currently at my out of state summer residence. I do travel some back and forth. Vehicle is being stored near my regular residence, and I have someone with access so that arrangements can be made to have car picked up if your transporter comes when I am not available.

4. Vehicle and papers will not leave here until paid in full with cleared funds. If you are paying with ANY kind of check, it must clear MY bank before car or ownership will be released. No exceptions!   Please note that with all the fraudulent money orders out there, most banks treat them like personal checks and place a 5 to 7 business day hold on them.   Wire transfer is the best method.

5. Vehicle is sold strictly as-is at my premisies with no guarantee or warranty of any kind.

6. Transportation is the buyer's responsibility. I will try to reasonably help and accommodate you any way I can, but it still YOUR responsibility.

7. If you cannot pick up immediately, that is fine, it can be left here for a reasonable period. However, it still must be paid for within the 7 days, and you should secure insurance as I cannot be responsible for loss or damage due to circumstances beyond my control or act of God.

8. Please ask and get satisfactory answers to all questions BEFORE YOU BID! Since sold strictly as/is, no warranty or returns, once you bid, you have made a binding contract.

9.  Car is advertised locally for sale. If I find a buyer through that venue, I reserve the right to end auction early. Please call me at 704-661-1326 (cell) or 518-835-5058 (landline) with any further questions about this. due to spotty cell service, call both and leave messages at both if no answer.

10. If you have been an Ebay member for less than a year and/or have less than 10 feedbacks, and/or have less than a 95% rating, you MUST contact me BEFORE you bid. Failure to do this may result in my cancelling your bid and blocking you from bidding on my items. I understand that new members can be great customers, but I must talk to you first. Thanks a lot.

11. A $95.00 administrative fee will be added to the bid price. This helps pay for advertisng, paperwork, and sale fees incurred by me. It does not cover all my expenses, but helps defray some of them. Thanks for your understanding.

I am sorry for all the rules, but it seems that 5% of difficult people spoil it for the 95% who are good. Thanks very much for looking! Again, please feel free to call 704-661-1326 cell or 518-835-5058 landline with any questions. Leave message if no answer. Thanks for looking!

eBay Find of the Day: 1976 GMC Motorhome is a jolly green giant

Wed, 18 Jun 2014

If you have a need to relive the 1970s, then here is the vehicle for you. This groovy blast from the past is a 1976 GMC Motorhome currently for auction in Florida on eBay Motors, and it is one green machine - just not in the modern sense.
The seller claims that this beast has had just two owners and has covered a mere 61,308 miles in its decades on the road. It's reportedly never been restored or repainted and comes with all of the necessary books and manuals. A 7.5-liter (455-cubic-inch) Oldsmobile V8 with a three-speed Turbo-Hydramatic automatic transmission powering the front wheels propels this far-out RV, and the double set of rear wheels out back use a self-leveling air suspension to provide a cushy ride.
The purported low miles and good condition really make this GMC a stand out, though. The exterior combination of lime stripes and beige with just a touch of green is like nothing else on the road today. Plus, the polished bumpers and wheels make it all pop. Inside, it's even better with monochromatic green upholstery and shag carpet. It features everything you'd ever need on a long trip, including a bathroom, kitchenette and lots of seating. The only hint of modernization is an HD TV next to the stove, but its size is a perfect fit for the hole there.

GM recalling 8.4M cars, 8.2M related to ignition problems

Mon, 30 Jun 2014

General Motors today announced a truly massive recall covering some 8.4 million vehicles in North America. Most significantly, 8.2 million examples of the affected vehicles are being called back due to "unintended ignition key rotation," though GM spokesperson Alan Adler tells Autoblog that this issue is not like the infamous Chevy Cobalt ignition switch fiasco.
For the sake of perspective, translated to US population, this total recall figure would equal a car for each resident of New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Montana, Delaware, South Dakota, Alaska, North Dakota, the District of Columbia, Vermont and Wyoming. Combined. Here's how it all breaks down:
7,610,862 vehicles in North America being recalled for unintended ignition key rotation. 6,805,679 are in the United States.

Jay Leno bangs up his own Toronado in GT6

Wed, 11 Dec 2013

Ever since Gran Turismo 4, Jay Leno has had at least one of his cars included in the popular racing simulator (starting with the Tank Car), and more of his machines appears in Gran Turismo 6. They include this nose-heavy, front-wheel-drive V8-powered muscle car. Yes, that aptly describes a 1966 Oldsmobile Toronado - except Leno's is rear-wheel drive. And it has a Cadillac CTS-V race engine modified to pump out 1,070 horsepower.
For the latest Jay Leno's Garage episode, he takes his real Toronado out for a cruise and then drives the virtual one like he stole it, accruing some body damage along the way. Leno also drives the virtual supercar Mercedes-Benz designed for GT6, the AMG Vision Gran Turismo Concept that debuted at the LA Auto Show, along with the real one, which is a 1:1-scale model. The model is radio-controlled and equipped with a small electric motor, sufficient to move it on and off of auto show floors.
Head below to watch the episode, which includes a few words from GT6 creator Kazunori Yamauchi.
