2008 One Owner Nissan Quest on 2040-cars

Up for consideration is my 2008 Nissan Quest which I purchased in April of 2008 from a local dealership here in Atlanta. The miles on the vehicle have all been put on by my wife and myself. I used it for 5 years as my primary vehicle for commuting back and forth to work. But for about 1 year it has just been an extra vehicle that we would use for an occasional trip. I need to buy a truck for business reasons so I have decided to sell my Quest. When I purchased the vehicle I also purchased the complete 100,000 mile warranty so the vehicle was always serviced at the dealership except for the routine oil changes and brakes. I have never had any problem with this van, everything on the van operates as it should, it has front and rear air conditioning which blows cold. It is a very comfortable van to drive. At 130,000 miles I replaced all four tires with 90,000 mile Sumitomo
Tour Plus LST tires, so they only have about 10,000 miles on them When I had the tires replaced I was told that one of the tire pressure indicator sensors needed to be replaced but I didn't have time to wait on the vehicle so I didn't replace it at that time  It is a $25 part and its purpose is just to tell you to check your air pressure in one of your tires. Other than that, everything on the vehicle works as it was designed. There are some scratches and scraps and a couple of small dings, but the car has never been in an accident. I have a long commute in Atlanta traffic so I try to keep my vehicles serviced and maintained. I will have the oil changed this week so the new owner will not have to worry about that. Hopefully you can see from the pictures that the interior has no rips, tears, or stains and is in good condition. One of the latches on the rear seat for reclining is broken, but other than that I know of no damage. The vehicle runs well and in my opinion, has a lot of miles left in it. I have set the reserve well below retail book price so that it will sell. The car has provided our family with good service and believe it will for many more years. Feel free to ask any questions. If you need me to deliver it to a shipper or you want to fly in and drive the van home, let me know and I will do my best to coordinate with you to make this a smooth flowing transaction. This is a used vehicle and has to be sold "as is". There is minor wear as I have tried to describe, one of the taillights has a crack in it but these are minor cosmetic issues that can be replaced if that's a concern. Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Mercedes was set to sell version of Nissan Titan, now Infiniti might instead

Wed, 18 Sep 2013

Mercedes-Benz Titan. Mercedes-Benz Frontier. Mercedes-Benz pickup truck. None of these things roll off the tongue particularly well. We'd like to think that's the reason Daimler opted to kill the idea of rebadged Titan and Frontier pickups from corporate ally Nissan. In reality, the execution before the Frankfurt Motor Show was due to more complicated issues.
Yes, Mercedes, byword for German luxury, style and quality, would have slapped a three-pointed star on a pair of Japanese pickup trucks that have failed to resonate with consumers in the world's largest truck market. That slapping of badges isn't much of an exaggeration, at least on the outside. According to the report from Road & Track, the truck's front clip would have been tweaked, but beyond that, the sheetmetal would have been unchanged. The interior would have received a more thorough going-over by the team at Mercedes, while the suspension and noise, vibration and harshness tuning would have also received significant attention.
The trucks would have ended up being sold through the light-commercial branch of Mercedes-Benz - the same folks that will happily sell you a Sprinter van - had the deal gone through. Issues arose, though, first with the engines. Mercedes wanted a wider range of powertrains to allow it to tune models for specific markets, while Nissan said it couldn't engineer the wide variety of engines that MB wanted to drop under the hood. For the smaller truck, meanwhile, MB was interested in a hybrid or plug-in variant, according to R&T, although this was also shot down by Nissan.

Next Nissan GT-R to take cues from GT-R LM Nismo Le Mans entry

Fri, 06 Jun 2014

For those wondering why Nissan named its coming Le Mans Prototype the GT-R LM Nismo, colliding the two worlds of sports car and prototype racing, an article in Autocar might have the answer. The deeper union is explained by saying that the next-generation GT-R will use "hybrid technology that will closely align it" with the GT-R LM Nismo.
The point could be further driven home by the fact that the GT-R LM Nismo will begin its FIA endurance racing campaign next year, and the next GT-R is due to debut next year as a 2016 model. The expectation is that it will use a hybrid system possibly dubbed R-Hybrid and perhaps developed by Williams. Just like performance car makers Ferrari and Audi, Nissan wants its racing efforts to pay off with road car technology, company vice president Andy Palmer saying they "want to link technological linkages between future evolutions of the GT-R and evolutions of what we do in LMP1, and the two do go in both directions."
The bigger question is, with the GT-R getting hybrid assistance, will it also get the weight gain that usually comes with it? Enthusiasts would love to see the trend reversed, especially on a car that's already no lightweight.

Renault-Nissan debuts new Common Module Family for future vehicles

Thu, 20 Jun 2013

Platform sharing is nothing new for the 14-year-old Renault-Nissan Alliance, but this partnership is set to introduce new modular platform components that will eventually underpin 11 Renault models and three Nissan vehicles by 2020. Rather than being a typical platform, the Common Module Family (CMF) actually represents five segments of a platform that can be used in various applications, and one of the first vehicles to use this architecture will be the 2014 Nissan Rogue (spy shots of which are shown below) when it arrives "in late 2013."
As pictured in the image above (click to expand), CMF is composed of four chassis component, principally the front underbody, rear underbody, engine bay and cockpit as well as a common electrical system. Besides the next-gen Rogue, future Nissan models to share CMF will include the Qashqai and X-Trail, while Renault models will start using the platform next year on vehicles including the Scénic and Laguna. The CMF architecture is expected to help the Alliance reduce the parts cost of a vehicle by up to 30 percent and reduce the entry cost by up to 40 percent. The official press release with more details about CMF, and what it means for Renault-Nissan, is posted below.
