1996 Nissan Pickup Xe Standard Cab Pickup 2-door 2.4l, 85000 Miles on 2040-cars
Duluth, Minnesota, United States
Originally an Arizona vehicle, this Nissan has never seen a Minnesota winter. It has 84,400 miles as of this writing. I've always kept it garaged during the cold months. Runs great with no motor or drivetrain issues. I call it a "personal responsibility" vehicle as everything is so hands on with it - manual window cranks, no power anything, wheel hubs to lock and unlock, manual transmission. It's wonderfully "trucky" and rides like a lumber wagon on newer heavy duty shocks and Firestone Destination A/T tires. The only real concession to creature comfort is the AC, which works great. The best part about this truck though is the body. It was well worth a very thorough and very expensive paint job in 2011, at which time it also received a replacement bed since the old one had some issues. The vehicle is entirely rust free, and by that I mean no old rust damage or extra holes that have merely been repaired either. It is completely sound, including the floor pans, rocker panels, anyplace you can think of. All the paint work was done by a professional auto restoration firm in Minneapolis with the bed off and all the necessary bits and pieces removed, not just masked off. The wheels are reconditioned originals and look absolutely new. Overall a splendid old truck - it even still has its original factory tape player. Very clean and well maintained. It's just time for it to have a new home with someone who will care for it as well as I have. Now the disclaimer: This tuck is 18 years old. It's not perfect but certainly about as nice as you're likely to find. There are going to be odd nicks, dings and scratches here and there, maybe even a couple I haven't noticed. The interior probably ought to be refreshed eventually and the exhaust is good but has likely been in place since the vehicle was new, so it might be a good idea to think about replacing that down the road too. But really that's about it as far as I can see The pictures show everything pretty well so look at them carefully and ask any questions you have before bidding. Any sale is necessarily final. |

2013 Nissan Pathfinder: March 2013
Mon, 01 Apr 2013Over the past few months, we've talked a lot about how our long-term 2013 Nissan Pathfinder functions as a daily-driver, long-hauler and all-weather warrior. And so far, it's earning high praise from most of us for being a well-rounded, pleasant vehicle in these regards. But the vast majority of people who actually go out and buy a Pathfinder will do so because of its people-and-stuff-carrying abilities. Nissan specifically engineered the new Pathfinder to be a softer, more widely appealing crossover than the sort of rugged SUV that it was before, and in doing so, the company is hoping its new CUV will find homes in the garages of many American families.
We needed to get some family impressions of the new Pathfinder, and fast.
Thing is, many of us Autobloggers live the kid-free life - at least that's true of most of us in the Detroit area where the Pathfinder currently resides. We have no doubts that the Pathfinder will get a proper family road trip workout from west coast editor Michael Harley after it shuffles over to the left side of the country, and it might also do a jaunt to North Carolina this summer with executive editor Chris Paukert and his family before it leaves the area, but in the meantime, we needed to get some family impressions of the new Pathfinder, and fast.
Nissan NV200 finds new work as ambulance, Gibson guitar repair truck
Thu, 28 Mar 2013We live in a world now where not every police cruiser and taxi is a Ford Crown Victoria, not every executive car is a Lincoln Town Car and not every ambulance is based on a Ford Econoline van. Vehicles like the new Nissan NV200 are making inroads into the service, livery and emergency vehicle markets, and we've got a couple cases in point to share.
The first one is a fleet of 30 new ambulances based on the heavier-duty NV2500 chassis. They are entering the Mexican Red Cross fleet of emergency vehicles this year after performing well in pilot tests last year. The Mexican Red Cross says it receives 1,200,000 ambulance service requests per year, so the mettle of these new machines will be tested in a hurry.
The second example is less useful for life-saving, but may save a guitar from going to the scrap heap. Called the Gibson NV200 Mobile Repair & Restoration Van, it can take the services of an authorized Gibson rep anywhere they're needed to repair or restore an axe in need. The van features a whole aesthetic designed to evoke the classic Gibson look, with wood veneer and shades of brown and black used throughout. There's a guitar rack that holds four instruments, a sliding 56-inch long repair table, toolbox, genuine Gibson stools and a sound system by Gibson Pro Audio.
Nissan bringing 'New Sedan Concept' to Beijing Motor Show
Mon, 10 Mar 2014During the 2014 Detroit Auto Show, Nissan showed off its Sport Sedan Concept (pictured above), an orange creation meant to foreshadow the next generation of the brand's "Four-Door Sports Car," the Maxima. For the 2014 Beijing Motor Show, though, Nissan is going to deliver a Chinese take on a future four-door, with the New Sedan Concept (imaginative name, we know).
Like the Nissan Friend-Me Concept from the 2013 Shanghai Motor Show, the NSC has been designed by Nissan Design China in Beijing. Outside of that, information is in short supply. Nissan claims this latest concept is targeted at the Chinese digital lifestyle. Whether it serves as an evolution of the Friend-Me's swoopy design or a regional take on Nissan's Detroit concept, though, remains to be seen.
We'll have the full slate of info on the Nissan New Sedan Concept, along with everything else that happens at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show, when the floor opens on April 23. Take a look below for the official press release from Nissan, which also includes a recap of previously debuted models that will be shown at Beijing.
