****Please read this fully before offering/using Buy It Now***This is a pristine Monterey Blue 2011 Nissan 370Z Automatic trans. with sport package. I bought it new locally about 2 years ago. I am building a house and sadly, this must go to create some cash flow for the project. It currently has 13600 mi. No accident vehicle history other than a front nose respray from a piece of road debris. I garaged it always, kept it protected with clay bar/cleaner sealer then carnuba separately and stored it for the 2 winters. The paint is nearly flawless because it has a few very light scratches in not noticeable locations and a few very small wheel scrapes. The only reason that I mention is to be perfectly honest to the sight unseen buyer, they hardly detract from the near perfection of this car. The day after I bought it, I had an Alpine Navigation/USB/MP3/DVD/Bluetooth stereo installed professionally. I left the original Bose sound system alone because I am not a sound freak and think that it sounds great. The installation was done right with the correct interface hookup so the steering wheel controls function as factory. I will include the original stereo. I bought an extended warranty that goes to 60000mi or 36 months. The 36 months is up 7/2014. I also had a protective clear static film professionally installed on the nose, lower hood and mirrors. I also had the windows slightly tinted (the back is darker) at the same shop (A plus window tint). Lastly, I personally installed a slightly louder free flow exhaust. The original is included of course. This car is a whole lot of fun to drive. The 7 speed automatic paddle shift makes it interesting. The sport package from Nissan was a $3000 option that added a limited slip rear, bigger and cooler looking rims and bigger brakes.I have carefully driven and babied this car. I am a certified car nut and am in my 40s. The original tires are just about ready to be replaced but still have at least a few thousand miles on them. Nissan only made about 5500 370Z's in 2011 (due to the tsunami) and only about 1200 or so were Monterey Blue.
I own this car totally and hold the title. My time is very valuable to me so if you want to see it, I will be asking you a few questions to make sure that you are serious and we will meet somewhere local. I will make any preparations to ship this car if you are buying site unseen as I have experience with this. I might consider a trade or partial trade for a mini excavator if the mini excavator is worth less than or equal to this car. I will also be looking to get a driver for my daily commute. Honda Civic, Accord, Prelude, Acura Integra, TL, RSX, Toyota Scion TC, Subaru Imprezza, Nissan 350Z or 300ZX, C4 Corvette,  NO MODDED CARS. This would obviously be your car and cash and preferably in the 5kish price range. I will be offering you a wholesale type of price like a dealer would because I would be looking ahead to re-sell. Also, I would entertain classic cars such as C3 Corvette, 80's Cutlass supreme or 442, Monte carlo, Buick regal, 3rd gen Camaro or Firebird,  air cooled VW... karmann Ghia, Water cooled VW... 1st gen Scirocco MK1 or early Rabbit GTI. I am located about 1/2 hour south of Pittsburgh. Please offer with confidence if you are planning a site unseen sale. My reputation on Ebay speaks for itself and I have bought and sold more than a few cars sight unseen. Thanks in advance for looking/offering or clicking buy it now!

Teen attempts car jump, hits windshield and lands on his feet

Tue, 11 Jun 2013

I've been compelled to do many things in or around a car, but jumping over one has never quite made the cut. That may be because I have all of the vertical lift of a manatee, but I digress. One enterprising young soul recently looked at a friend's Nissan Sentra and thought, "You know, I can totally leap right over that roof line."
By using what can only be described as Herculean feats of persuasion, he talked one young female friend into driving said Nissan straight for him at around 40 miles per hour while another stood by to film the lunacy. The plan went swimmingly right up until our would be compact-vaulter caught his foot on the hood and bounced into the windshield. Whoops.
But the story doesn't end with a trip to the emergency room. Our hero spun mid-air and actually managed to get his feet under him before coming back to Earth. Impressive. You can watch the hilarity for yourself below, but please, don't even think about trying this yourself.

Nissan alters all CVTs to act less like a stretched rubberband

Tue, 15 Jul 2014

Among automotive enthusiasts, no one seems to hold a neutral opinion when it comes to continuously variable transmissions. CVTs are either praised for their ability to boost fuel economy or chided for their occasionally poor driving dynamics. Nissan is among the masters of these un-shifting gearboxes in the US, and it uses them in many vehicles in its lineup. However, for the 2015 model year, several models are getting a software update to make their CVTs a bit more like a conventional automatic.
To give drivers the option of feeling gearshifts while on the road, Nissan is adding its D-Step Shift Logic feature to the CVTs in multiple vehicles. Steve Powers, Nissan's senior manager of powertrain performance, told Autoblog the system forces the transmission to "hold a ratio and then shift" to simulate the way that a traditional automatic would. It's simply a change in software, but the company "can't do it to older CVTs," he said, because it would require changes to transmission logic, as well. According to Automotive News, the upgrade is coming to the 2015 Versa, Versa Note (pictured above), Sentra, V6-equipped Altima, Pathfinder and Quest. "We're rolling it out to all programs," said Powers.
Interestingly, buyer perception appears to be pushing the upgrade. John Curl, a Nissan North America regional product manager, told Automotive News that the decision to add the tech partially comes because some owners are bothered that the CVTs aren't changing gears. According to Powers, D-Step "avoids the rubber band feel," that many drivers didn't like. The different sensation of these transmissions seems like something consumers would notice during the test drive, or that the salesperson would inform them about. The same issue cropped up last year when the company was facing customer satisfaction problems among new buyers customers' unfamiliarity with the gearboxes.

How and why Nissan nearly killed off Infiniti

Fri, 25 Jan 2013

Launched in 1990, Infiniti was expected to be Japan's answer to BMW (Lexus would end up chasing Mercedes-Benz). Yet things went awry almost right out of the gate. Overlooking the fledgling automaker's now infamous early marketing campaign, its product line over the past twenty-four years has been a roller coaster ride of strong hits (Q45, FX35 and G35) and frustrating misses (M30, I30 and QX4).
In a recent interview with Ward's Auto at the Detroit Auto Show, Nissan Executive Vice President Andy Palmer revealed that the company's luxury brand was almost cancelled by CEO Carlos Ghosn as unnecessary. Infiniti, like most premium marques owned by a volume manufacturer, had fallen into the trap of losing autonomy and pushing its high-end product just like its mainstream models.
The one obvious exception to this industry blunder, said Palmer, was VW Group's Audi brand. Realizing that Audi's impressive comeback over the past two decades shamed even that of actor Robert Downey Jr., Nissan hired Audi veteran Johan de Nysschen to bring Infiniti to its intended glory - and protect it from extinction. Check out the complete interview here.
