2006 Tarmac Black Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Ix Mr Se Evo 9 Special Edition on 2040-cars
Glendale, California, United States
For sale is my 2006 Lancer Evolution MR with the SE package that has the front lip, SE wheels and red interior stitching, a rare combo! Please read the description carefully so you know what you are bidding on. I have owned it since 2009 and it has been my daily driver seeing mostly highway miles. It has never been tracked, raced, launched, or abused in any way. Adult owned and cared for since it's purchase at South Coast Mitsubishi in Southern California. It has a Road Race Engineering stealth exhaust with a high flow cat, manual boost controller, Cosworth drop in air filter and fuel pump on a very conservative tune. Muellerized Skunk 2 Pro-c coilovers installed by suspension masters at Muellerized Inc. in Costa Mesa, CA at around 55,000 miles. Nitto NT-05 (255/45/17) tires have about 3,000 miles on them. Also has a Progress rear anti roll bar. This Evo grips like a super car and pins you when you floor it. Always has enough power and more than enough grip. Paint is good for it's age but has a few scratches here and there but the car is mechanically great. Here's your chance at owning this rare collectible that's sure to go up in price. Clean title in hand.

Mitsubishi Lancer, Outlander Sport named 2013 IIHS Top Safety Picks
Thu, 27 Dec 2012The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has added a pair of Mitsubishi models to its ever-growing list of 2013 Top Safety Picks, giving the prestigious safety award to the 2013 Outlander Sport and Lancer (sedan and Sportback). Both models make a return visit to the list, but with 117 cars now on the list and IIHS crash standards getting tougher just about every, this is big news for the small Japanese automaker.
Among small SUVs, the Outlander Sport is just one of nine vehicles in this segment to be named a Top Safety Pick, while the Lancer's name is surrounded by 28 other compact coupes, sedans and hatchbacks in the highly competitive small car segment. The Top Safety Pick status does not apply to the Lancer's Ralliart or Evolution variants, and neither the Outlander Sport nor the Lancer were subjected to the new small frontal offset crash test that would have resulted in the new Top Safety Pick+.

Mitsubishi readying Outlander refresh
Sat, 02 Aug 2014Mitsubishi has a big secret to keep under wraps when it comes to the looks of its refreshed Outlander crossover. Our spy shooters recently caught it testing in Germany, and the CUV had enough buckles, straps and snaps covering up the front end for the vehicle to fit in at an S&M party for cars. The rear was hidden just as thoroughly, too.
Given the areas that Mitsubishi's engineers are obscuring, it seems safe to assume that the Outlander is getting a heavily revised front end with redesigns for the grille, front bumper and possibly hood. The lights might be reshaped too, judging from these photos. The changes are just as hard to spot at the rear, but you can make out the shape of the taillights. They appear more rectangular than the current model, and the bumper looks more angular, as well.
This is likely our first glimpse of the of the major restyle for the Outlander that Mitsubishi execs told Autoblog about in July. The interior is also getting an update to improve interior material quality, we were told. The revisions are supposed to coincide with the launch of the PHEV model in the US at roughly the same time.
Mitsubishi developing new standalone hybrid Evo successor
Mon, 16 Dec 2013Mention the name Mitsubishi to different people and you'll likely get two startling different images. Environmentalists will focus on the company's strides in developing EVs, while performance enthusiasts will point you toward the Lancer Evolution. The prevailing wisdom was that Mitsubishi would cancel the latter to concentrate on the former, but the latest intel suggests that the two will be reconciled with a new Evo around the corner.
Although Mitsubishi is reportedly working to streamline its lineup from 23 models on 12 different platforms to 13 models on 7 by 2016, the next Evo will stand as an exception. Like Subaru did with the formerly Impreza-based WRX (or for that matter Nissan with the formerly Skyline-based GT-R), the new Evo won't have anything to do with the next Lancer, which itself will be based on a Renault-Nissan platform.
On that unique platform, Mitsubishi is likely to install a small direct-injection turbo engine (potentially a diesel) that could be based on the 1.1-liter, three-cylinder turbo engine in the XR-PHEV concept we saw in Tokyo, supplemented by small electric motors with lightweight batteries and driving all four wheels through an enhanced version of the company's Super All-Wheel Control system. As to whether the Evo name will carry over, that remains to be seen, but if these reports prove accurate, its spirit could very much live on.
